Dissecting Christian McCaffrey & the 49ers' run game ❌⭕ | The Breakdown with Peyton and Belichick

you got to stop the run you got to keep him from getting outside getting to the perimeter once he gets in the offset position he gets over here or over here uh or motions out of the back field obviously you know now you're really dealing with a wide receiver he's not a running back anymore I think as soon as he gets out of this position from behind the quarterback I would make sure that a defensive back preferably a good one you know covered him because he is not only the ability to catch the ball but to catch it break a tackle and go go to distance or run receiver type routes down the field flag routes seam routes over routes you know stuff like that I me he can get a lot of yards in a hurry so the lineman are up on the second level and like you said there's the one-on-one matchup right here free safety against running back and you know mcaffrey makes him look bad yeah fight yeah here's a great look at the play from The End Zone you can really see what mcaffrey sees on this it's stretch stretch make it look like it's going outside so these guys are all running running flat here you think he's going outside he knows use Che is going to kick this block out right there and then stretch stretch and then cut up inside this a nice job on the backside here of getting these guys you know all cut off back here so the defense is sealed we get a kick out over here and there's the Run L it's good looking play sound like Vince Lombard there Bill he got a seal here and a seal here a seal here and a seal here and to try to run this play in the alley in the alley [Music] he
