Francine weakened to a tropical storm overnight just hours after it made landfall in Louisiana yesterday flash flood warnings are still in effect however in parts of the state with hundreds of thousands of residents without power and this morning the storm is also battering parts of Mississippi we really wanted our public our visitors uh to really understand our residents that your city is prepared uh your city has been making Investments heavy Investments for a long time utilizing those federal dollars and really demonstrating that when the federal government invest Bigoo I'm telling you we can see we can see the impacts on the ground they're huge and so we're just continuing to be I would say that model uh for disaster preparedness and really for Recovery not only for this country but for the world more to come this is a work in progress but New Orleans is always working we don't know how much damage is done we don't know if we have to replace sheetrock we don't know if we have to rip out our baseboards again replace sheetrock again we just uh finished up a renovation in our house actually the renovation is ongoing it's a brand new renovated Street a brand new renovated home and we had about 6 to8 Ines of water in our home that came up so fast that my husband and I could not stay ahead of it [Music]
