Kayaking Adventure to Burgess Falls

Intro good morning it's Maguire here I'm headed to my favorite waterfall in the Nashville area it's called Burgess Falls it's about an hour and a half east of Nashville but it's definitely definitely worth the drive uh today we're going to be doing a about a 2m kayak to the bottom of the falls that's the only way to get there Burgess Falls does have some cool history too the locations in uh putham County here in Tennessee it's named after early settler uh named Tom Burgess who established like a mill there and it became a hub for Native Americans and some of the other you know settlers in the area at the time in the early 20th century the Tennessee Electric Power Company constructed a dam there but eventually in the 1970s they turned it into a state park Cane Hollow all righty we made it to cane Hollow boat ramp got the kayak set up is actually super busy today I mean rightfully so that's a gorgeous gorgeous day but this is the the new kayak I picked up it barely fits in my car got a cooler in the back and a backpack a life jacket of course and here's the entrance to the Kayak river all right good afternoon we made it on the river just kayaking Upstream now it normally takes me like 50 minutes to an hour to kayak the water is really still just peaceful but that just means it's pretty warm got a lot of bugs and especially during the summer time but it's gorgeous day yeah this is super peaceful kayak I'll include the address to the boat ramp for you guys if you're looking to kayak on your own or there's this awesome company I think they're called kayaking Adventures of Tennessee and I don't know their prices but I always see them out here whenever I visit the falls and it looks like you know they've got a great tour guide want to give them a quick shout out always love that part of the kayak just reminds me of like Norther Rings or something spooky like Scooby-Doo it's all this Forest of dead trees Burgess Falls looks like burges Falls is super busy today it's a gorgeous summer day I'm going to go swim enjoy the enjoy the water it's super refreshing but back there 136t drop and uh just going to go have a good time in the sun today wherever you are hope you're having a great great day it's really cool found this place if you look around here surrounded by an entire Gorge all the way around the entire waterfall is surrounded going take a shower [Music] [Music] Cliff Jumping down Outro well thanks for coming along with the adventure a good time jumping off cliffs kaying now I have to do the dreaded 2 Mile kayak back home not too bad it a great day can't complain at all so so gorgeous out but headed back thanks for watching
