rexam have already been doing this season they did it last season in League two and we expect them to score a whole host of goals this season as well as Shrewsbury are coming forward to ball into the penalty area for the first time for the awaya side today in the end just about evades absolutely everyone but it was blocksom bowing forwards down that right hand side it was really good work he had the beating of O Conor there put a good ball in but in the end it was just over the head of Shipley blocks him coming into this one with a whole host of confidence as well scored two goals in their 3-0 Victory last time out against Leighton Orient playing off the right hand side today rather than necessarily being a striker so he'll be hoping he can get the chances again in this one but the first real positive signs from shw Good Start there for them and clearly down that right hand side maybe they can just be got at Rex and when you look at the wing backs mle is more of that Forward Thinking attacking Wing back earlier on in his career he was more of a Winger and then transition into a wing back row whereas Barett is more obviously he gets up of now on that right hand side and gives a lot of good width and good deliveries on that right hand side but he's more of more defensive one you would call it we've got a few goals early on in lead to Port Veil leading the way to Newport and Bradford City with an early goal inside two minutes from Andy cook to give them the lead at home to car L where it's Bley Bristol Ro Char r as we are at the race CR ground currently Gus just waiting for a few goals to go in seeing what we can get in and around this game as kieren said it's been a really good start so far and Rex some they just all the're really missing right now he's that goal for the side to just maybe take that game and then take over but shb have defended well but rexam do look dangerous and look like the could maybe score at any time with any attack that just look so dangerous a oppent going forward they are just on the ball in their own half down this right hand side with clor into Barett he brings it in field just maybe get that man advant he still going still dribbling with it good pass into Lee he's going to spread it wide to mcle he's going to look to put one into the area into the back post and Rex him do have the lead that they've been craving a fantastic piece of play from right to left Barett with a lovely run just couldn't no one could take him out lovely ball into McLean lovely ball into the back post and it was OE Palmer number nine there just to put it in the back of the net Rex him have the lead a reserved lead and now if he shrew is he just trying to make sure this just become an avalanche of goals yeah that's a fantastic goal from rexon from back to front it was playing out from the back Shrewsbury could get absolutely nowhere near them the likes of Bennett Rathbone both carrying the ball forwards at every given opportunity Bennett's a right wing back he picks it up on the touch line drives all the way into the middle of the park a lovely little ball into Elliot Lee he plays it out to the left down side for mlan who just almost guides it across the face of goal but just behind the Defenders of shrewbury which means they couldn't really adjust they couldn't get that interception in and then in the end it's tapping for Palmer at the back post but unfortunately that defending from Shrewsbury is so poor you can see why they may be 20th in the league when you look at them defending like that CU it was just so easy for Palmer to peel off at the back post and tap it into an empty net almost but that's a fantastic goal for rexam they've deserved to take that early lead Shrewsbury have defended really poorly so far it's Palmer's second goal of the season so far he scored in their last home game against reading where they won 3-0 and I'm sure rexon will be wanting repeat of that one but it is Rex and Warner shwy now good start to the game 15th minute strike from o Palmer as Kieran said a really fantastic goal as well it's exactly how rexon want to play they want to get goals like that and when they do have the class that they doing the side that could be the real Difference Maker just a play it down for a second there for rexam and just a bit of a nasty Landing there for oh Connell he's back to his feet though and rexam have the ball in their own half he'll be goalkeeper Kong wo to take just outside his penalty area on the right hand side he'll just look to dink it long up to Palmer trying to play head it into his strike partnership in with marot it's a poor ball back on Ron's chasing it down Savin does very well to just clear that away hack that out of the shrewbury danger area rexon will get the ball back as soon as we've got a goal here in Wales we've also got another goal Barnsley have taking the lead at home to Bristol Rover so the goals are slowly but surely trickling in in the lower leagues of the English football leagues League one and League two action this weekend as is international break for most sides championship and Premier League he's on a pause until next weekend and all the focus goes onto the lower leagues and at the same time I say lower leagues when you watch a goal like that from rexam and people say this is a lower league game the quality there on show was absolutely fantastic yeah it definitely was I mean you can almost tell you can almost tell with the surroundings this Stadium the pitch looks like a proper playing surfe it's which sometimes you don't see in League one and League two it allows them to almost Zim that football about a little bit more play that buildup play as well as there a good ball in from mlan well defended in the penalty by shuby but they just it allows themselves to be confident to take the game to every other side you think they've always been that Force at home over these last couple years and they've brought this into League one which is so important if they were to have another promotion which I mean some people could have predicted with how good their squad looks but I mean it would still be an outstanding achievement and then you've also got stock part up there with them as well two sides have only just been promoted currently sat in the top two so it just shows they've both taken the confidence into this season and rexam have looked really good so far and that's a lovely control from Palmer he's already got himself a goal he's trying to play marot in there and just over hereit Lee making a run as well real positive start from Rex and I know there's going to be a lot of people saying well obviously they have the backing and this and that on players but the probably sometimes how many teams in the past have we seen in the lower leagues get back in and they just don't perform Rex them they are performing and to a real higher level currently in the league undefeated doing really Welling around now Paul ball from sh to give it back to rexam with Connell plays it into Palmer poor touch though and Sho Come Away with the ball trying to come forward Rex him just hack it away they will win a free kick on this right hand side and this is the first real time for shury to maybe put a ball on the box here Rex about Kung he hasn't been challenged at all but we saw from that little piece of play down that right hand side they can put good deliveries and they can maybe challenge this Rex defense yeah they certainly can they've got to get the Defenders up here bit of frustration going on here from Rex him in terms of if you feel like every challenge they're putting in is being penalized for a free kick at the moment yeah and I think that's just he's just trickling in a little bit isn't it if you are shrewbury as you say I think what they need to do is just take advantage of the set pieces haven't done they've taken it short here but just challenge Rex and put it in the area but at the same time I think shrews are growing in confidence because I know you're losing but the same time after that first call you maybe thinking did they get a second within five minutes did they take the game away from him at one nil they're well in the game and still coming forward great ball into the back post the head is there and it's a good save for a conquer in the end he does well to get two strong hands on it to keep a hold of it it was a great ball in first time from Benning once again shrewbury just causing some problems in the wide areas but Benning can stick because every time they're getting it every time they're getting a a free kick deep Rex them they're just giving the ball straight back to shrewbury and shrewsbury's press so far has been really good for a side that as much as they won the last game will have come into this as massive massive underdogs but rexam trying to get on the ball here now James mlan decides to slow things down a little bit and use his Center Hales and I think that's exactly what they need to do they've got some very experienced players in this side direct them and you think when they are one- nil up when the going going just a little bit against them you can almost feel that shrewbury getting into it they do have them experienced heads that will know what to do in these situations the likes of WTH bur mlan Elliot Lee Jack marot who've played at higher higher levels in English football before as well of course Jack marot's had some fantastic spells in his career the main one that stands out is the one at Derby getting to a playoff final with them under Frank Lampard scor that massive goal Ellen RH in the playoffs and certainly someone that knows where the back of the net is but we've not seen him have a chance yet in this game baret wins the headed flick on marot was pointed into the direction he wanted it and B it just puts a little bit too much on it in the end as rexam struggle to create a clear opportunity here but they've won possession back now and it's going to be clear worth on ball the center half at the moment into the middle of the park George Dobson who they brought in this summer from Charon athletic you think they're going to be direct promotion Rivals this season charon's game incidentally of course kicked off 10 minutes late due to rotherham's team coach being stuck in traffic but that game is in the 21st minute now and it is still Chon nil Rotherham nil whereas where 32 and a half minutes into our game at the race course ground as we see rexim trying to get forwards now Elliot Lee great ball out to on the left hand side puts it in looking for Palmer he's got a great chance and he should have maybe found the back of the net it falls to him in the perfect position once again a great cross from mlan in the end he takes his touch and his shot is well blocked and then shs me straight at the other end almost causing a goal themselves but a conqua dealt with it it was a chip from Lloyd trying to catch the goalkeeper out but Palmer maybe needed to show a little bit more composure there yeah well I mean we've saw that he's full of it with a finish in the game and that buildup was very very similar to the goal came from the right hand side slowly build up it gets a bit quicker then Le McLean first time cross into him good touch from Palmer and Rex him they're turning up the heat a little bit they're coming forward down the right hand side here's bar it down the right side a great opportunity puts it into the penalty it's a good delivery mlan keeps it alive does he does wrath Bone's going to get there first down the left hand side it was once again a very deep cross from Barnet whose deliveries have been a little bit hit and miss so far in this one but rexam still trying to get forward Dobson with a pass into the middle I'm not sure that one was ever really on and finally Shrewsbury Can Come Away with possession now and Shipley's got all the space in the world to run into and it's so poor in the end good pressing from Dobson to win the ball back but shiple really poor in possession and a conquor has just gone absolutely long with the ball at feet under no pressure which just gifts possession back to Shrewsbury this is what rexman have been doing that I've not been too much of a fan of in this game is they're making too many mistakes in possession yeah they are rather I I think in some sense this is the anti- playay out of the defense isn't it you see some teams in the lower leagues try and play out from defenses you see in the top European leagues and they overdo it a little bit whereas rexam they're the total opposite where there there's a nice little balance you can have you can play out from the back you can pass it around and slow it down you've got the lead you know let's hold on to it let's as you said I think if that Midfield free drop maybe closer to the back three just to maybe take the momentum away from Drew knock it around slow it down a little bit I know they want to get two three four goals I know they want to do that but the more you can take this game into the 60th minute you've got a lead shw you're going to throw more bodies forward then more space can come in for reom and you can maybe take the game away from you can take the momentum away from flying tackle in there for rexam was it Dobson who was in with it it was number 15 for rexim he's picked up a yellow card and that's the third one of the afternoon his teammate McLean on one and Benning the left back for Shrewsbury on one and I think that's one that was definitely deserved at least on First Watch yeah I mean what a stupid tackle from he goes straight through the back of him clean's going absolutely nowhere if anything the shrewbury forwards Midfield is going to go straight into Elliot Lee and maybe he's going to get intercepted and there could be a Counterattack on for rexon but he's absolutely flown in you could tell as he's running up he had one thing on his mind he wanted to clatter his man and this is a great setpiece opportunity now to put this ball into the penalty area Bing over it with the left foot again into the penalty flicked on by reex and man and it's going to go for a second shrewbury corner of the game they've now got more corners in this one than Rex and shrewbury on the attack once again it's Gilead in possession finds feny came through the ranks at Everton as a Young Center half Shipley on the ball down the line for Benning once again overlapping puts it into the penalty takes a deflection a conquor came for it and then there's a flick on from Lloyd and he goes out for a rexam goal kick but this last maybe 10 minutes or so rexam have really struggled yeah I think and I mean in terms of the entire match about chances created they've created two haven't the yes one Palmer putting the back of the net fantastically well the other one it was you know one you want to think and that's yes should that be 2-0 yes it should be two nil Rex should be two up with the chances they've created but they're the only two chances I think if you Rex him you'd be worried they're the only two chances you've created if Palmer doesn't put his first one in the back of the net it's nil nil and on on the basis I think you'd see shrew with a better side notes down as well as now we're just seen Winchester on the ball down the right hand side shw just trying to gain that little bit of momentum in possession pot Vil have retaken the lead at newp Jayden stockley grabbing his second goal of that game and Barrow have taken the lead at home to swind and Ghana with that one now we're just seeing shwy come forwards once again Winchester down the right hand side a push in the back falls into the penalty area Castle dine puts it across the face of goal did it take a deflection I think it did it's going to go for another Shrewsbury corner and that is a massive opportunity where if you think they've got a striker there sniffing that out then it should have necessarily led to a goal but Castle Line's been a massive handful so far oh 100% And once again it's down the right hand side isn't it we've talked about blocks and being very good down this right side being direct that was another chance down the right hand side quite clearly rexam can be got at down their left hand side and that's where Shrewsbury getting their look they're getting their attacks once again another set piece it'll be an inswinger an opportunity to get the equalizer in swinging delivery all the way to the back post ncala struggles to keep it in the penalty here but it's going to go all the way out to him he's trying to potentially a set piece for his side puts it first touch in his own penalty area and I think the Rex and fans may just be getting a little bit nervous with how this game's panning out sh have had the three corners to Rex's one well usually You' into the penalty he's still going cuts on to his left lays it off for Elliot Lee who goes for goal and it's a fantastic guided finish and once again it's come from Bennett down the right hand side player but that's the quality we've been talking about it's rexam too shw now again what a lovely piece of play from rexam when they want to and when they having in this first half they have cut shrew aart hav the and the twoo lead I think in some sense flatters them but as you've said before shws also haven't cut up open rexam and had chances after chances it's just the momentum swung their way but that's where Rex and they need to do this better that when they are coming forward they need to open them up and bar net I don't think he's had the best of games but he's also had parts of the game so far where he has been so vital the opening goal he got the ball ran with it quite clearly his dribbling ability is absolutely fantastic carry that ball for rexam on that right hand side you've got him as more of the ball carrying back and mle more as that he's going to take that first time cross he's going to deliver the ball with pace and power and Lee he had a fantastic year last year he's had a great start this year so far as well adds the go and just as you were saying and rightly saying that those fans and the Rex and players and the bench would be getting maybe a little bit you want to be a more physical Defenders you can put your two target men up top if you've got Defenders who maybe don't have the pacing behind them you could put the two pacy forwards in there's good have to but now he's got a chance down the left hand side and here is Mullen once again driving into the penalty he's taken down by a shuby man does well to keep his feet lays it off for Elliot Lee competition at left wing back from the Clint yeah there certainly is and Sebastian Revan had a decent season it was one of the standout players for rotheram in their miserable season in the championship where they got relegated so you can see why he's highly spoke about and mullings in once again he chips the goalkeeper and once again he's put it wide he probably cannot believe that he has not scored in this game he's absolutely raging behind the goal that is a massive chance a great ball in behind from clay withth once again brilliantly flicked on by Fletcher mullin's run off the ball he's outstanding I'm wondering whether could he have gone with his left foot there it must have suited him more he's used his right foot on the half oy trying to dink it over the goalkeeper in the end it's gone wide of the top Corner that's a massive chance again and I I mean I don't want to be too Asing him I think he should have scored both of the chances he's had in the last few minutes yeah he should really definitely have at least one goal on the board rexam should have an extra mulling Off the Bench should have one for sure you 100% correct there and as you say I think maybe you should maybe let that an extra touch run across your body and try and strike it with your left foot and strike some real power and some Venom into the strike to try and beat the goalkeeper and get run across your body or even maybe take a touch pass the goalkeeper put into an empty net again it's just I think that sharpness in front of goals just a little bit missing there because the standards that he deserved so far since coming on yeah they've had a really positive second half of Rex and they've just won that ball back so easily every single time off shwy they've quite clearly corrected
