Florida state Georgia Tech here's the line right now minus 11 a half Florida State money line for Georgia Tech is plus 360 and bet online right this second the over under is a flat 55 every game comes down to the line of scrimmage right and and we we try and and sit here and tell everybody that and that's not taking the importance away from everything else but to me this game is actually a lot simpler than what some people are making out to be fora estate's got one of the best offensive lines in the country Georgia Tech's got a really good offensive line coming back with a head coach that's an offensive line guy Georgia Tech's biggest problem last year outside of hannes King turning it over a little bit too much was the defense wasn't very good especially up front they really had no pass rush they bring in some guys from the portal you bring in romelo height from from USC who had gone to Auburn and then I believe went to USC you brought in a couple other guys you have two returners on the interior I think Georgia Tech's going to be better think they're going to be fine in the back end the question becomes is Georgia Tech good enough to stop Florida State's run enough to make dju have to beat them through the air at points right three to five times during the game to make some big time throws to extend drives or score touchdowns when you get in the Red Zone I know Florida state has talent on the outside I know dju is a veteran who has shown flashes of doing good things I don't trust him to make the routine throws routine but I do trust Florida State's Run game to keep hannes King and them off the field I do think Georgia Tech on the offensive side of the ball they have a hell of a run game too I think they led the ACC and rushing last year people forget that so that tells me I want to lean to the under because you have both teams that really want to line up and run the ball play action off that to work it down field I like Florida State to win the game right now too but I like Georgia Tech to cover the 11 and a half I feel really good about the 11 and a half I'm looking around and some people are thinking you know 30 417 Florida State I don't think that's giving Georgia Tech enough credit especially if Florida state is onedimensional uh and I think Brent key and them are going to be confident enough but good enough UPF front in the front seven to be able to put up enough of a fight for this to be a onore game in the fourth quarter I like Georgia Tech to cover I like Florida State to win probably to suffocate him at the end but it should be a hell of a football okay that that's how I'm feeling right now to Florida State winning the game don't know how I feel about the 11 and a half right now though I like Georgia Tech to cover that and then leaning towards the at 55 be interesting to see if that goes up even by at least a hook 55 and a half you know and another thing too is I think because DJ ungal hasn't necessarily lived up to all of the hype that he had coming into college that that sort of creates a narrative that oh he's just a bad quarterback and that's not really the case because even at two different programs being at Clemson and then at um Oregon State we've seen like almost similar numbers at both places like there's a certain floor right there's a certain steadiness that kind of comes with that and I think think that when you add in how talented Florida State's roster is it's not going to be the Georgia Tech necessarily that Florida State's going to be losing to it that that's not the way I see it even though I hope we're in for a great football game it's going to be later on in the season when they're playing Miami or Notre Dame things like that do you see something different in this game one I'm taking Georgia Tech to cover the spread this is a lot of question marks to me it's in Dublin going to be a different type of turf you never really run on it until you get out there I would take the under in this game as well because obviously offenses take longer to catch up than defenses defens are usually better early in the season and I believe in Hanes King almost to the point where I believe in him more than dju I think if Hanes King doesn't turn turn the ball over and they can get Florida State off schedule a little bit maybe some second and Longs third and five plus I wouldn't be you wouldn't be crazy to put money on Georgia Tech to win this football game no no I I don't what I'm GNA find fascinating is the play calling on early downs from Florida State because Mike norell is smart enough to understand the dju is not Jordan Travis there's some some similarities there but they're two totally different players and I think this system this offensive system is going to be a much more downhill not that norval didn't want to run the ball before but with Jordan Travis you could do some things I think outside of the pocket from a Mobility standpoint while you're throwing that dju is not great at I when I look at at what they're going to call on first and second down early in this game if I'm Georgia Tech on defense am I saying you know what I know who dju is y'all know who dju is y'all got one of the top 10 offens defensive lines in college football they've got over 2,000 snaps right there's no alignment they're going to see that's going to confuse them or whatever do we load the box and say let's see if we can get him in the third and eight and then we'll run our Twan and see if Mike norell wants to sit here and have enough balls to call a run play on Third and six or whatever it is I think they will feel each other out but this is going to be a different Forida State attack than what we saw last year but when you look at Forida State and Georgia Tech initially you look at the brand battle right you're like Forida State should have much better players than Georgia Tech Florida state does have better players than Georgia Tech but I don't think it's by some humongous wide margin where Georgia Tech's just got to hope to God to be able to hang in there I think with ha King's Mobility the new pieces on this Florida State Defense as well because they lost some guys hell a couple of them are playing for the Rams right now uh I first game of the year new new quarterback new guys at the skill position the offensive line should help hide it but they're going to lean on what they do best and that's running the ball so again it keeps the game tighter it keeps the score lower which that's why again you've got to lean under in Georgia Tech plus 11 and a half I'm interested to see the movement on this line yeah and when you talk about Georgia Tech potentially loading the box and forcing DJ wangal to throw the ball that's particularly where you miss you know Keon Coleman and you miss Johnny Wilson who are playing in the NFL now because they could get you out of so much trouble at the wide receiver well that's that's why they're hoping these Bama transfers Roy de Williams going start at running back we'll see they I mean it's Florida State like their skill player any any skill players they need to run out there you know are going to be able to play football um but particularly last year I just think back to that opener with Florida State and LSU and you think about like oh Florida State really just started running the football down their throat in the second half against LSU but that was opened up by Keon Coleman going for 50 plus yards on RPO game and again the RPO game you were able to do that with Travis with Jordan Travis at the quarterback position so I'm interested to see like what's the percentage of shotgun to under Center that they're going to run with DJ well I I'm wondering how many times they're going to get up there and run Q Power with DJ that's it's not like it's dju is important but it's not like it's oh God we can't have anybody hit D he's a great Runner because if we he's not a great Runner but he's a heavy Runner he's a bigger guy he's a threat to run he can be good on Third and one fourth and one whatever but to David's Point not only how much under Center as opposed to shotgun but is it going to be more Gap scheme than we get zone right I feel like this team is going to be more downhill North and South not really your East and West hey let's go outside Zone let's kind of fluctuate it I think they want to line up and and play a game of our offensive line is one of the best in the country your defensive line is unproven physics is physics what's the safest play what's the quickest way to the end zone it's a straight line it's north and south I think it's going to be heavy Gap that comes a lot easier when you get into what when the Red Zone I mean who's field goals to touchdowns going to decide the difference in this game if you're Georgia Tech you can't kick a bunch of field goals in this game expect a win when you get in the Red Zone you have to bring out all the stops this will be a humongous win for Georgia Tech oh yeah a hum I don't care if it's week zero week minus two I don't care you bring out all the stops to win this game so you can't go down and kick three well the the the the one Solace you have if you're Georgia Tech is I feel like we know who Georgia Tech is more than we know who Florida state is right now because again it's you got a new guy behind there Hanes King elevated his game last year again turned it over too much we know that it feels like they've plugged some holes in the ship but they do have confidence they beat Miami in that crazy way last year it's just that defense for Georgia Tech can you get enough stops or does it turn into like Blaine's alluding to hey between the 20s they're goingon to get theirs but once we get in that red zone let's hold them to three because I think Georgia Tech can move the ball against FL hes K's Mobility will be huge but they're in their offensive line and again Brent key is an offensive line guy
