Jewish Family trying to survive World War II take a look what is wrong with you what's wrong with you you a rude that woman used to fwn all of her mother's dresses and now she refuses to come into the shop maybe she's a snob no no the snobs love us unless they're snobs who hate jeice yes and Joey King and Logan lurman are here to chat it's so nice to see both of you congratulations on the series thank you thanks for having us here this is personal for both of you Joey talk about that I mean yeah we we both heard come from Jewish families and Jewish backgrounds and so doing a show where we get to play Jewish people who are real people I mean there's nothing quite like that feeling of of having that personal connection cuz obviously the best part about acting is you get to play different people that you might not have any anything in common with but uh this one really would really hit home for us Lan it's really personal for you your grandfather escaped Nazi Germany yeah my grandfather was a was a German Jewish Refugee who went on a long journey and ended up uh with his family and ended up in in China I grew up in in Shanghai um and yeah my character aie uh who is the author of the novel uh we were the lucky ones grandfather I was a refugee as well so that was one element of this story that really uh resonated with me I was like I haven't seen the the the Jewish European Refugee story in film or television before and finally we get to uh explore it and you're exploring it again as siblings this is your second time playing siblings yes are you a package deal here we we might as well be I love hanging out together although the last time we worked together the the only scene we had was me spitting in Logan's face as he was laying there dead so as siblings do little bit more fun this to have some scenes together at least for Logan it is yeah I mean yeah he's alive I was like that was fun too I love that uh we were just talking off camera you have a beautiful ring Logan you just got engaged did congratulations thank you much how are you feeling about everything great yeah now it's just wedding planning so that's the that's that's the fun part that's the fun part but it is part of the whole fun during my w I did I think you know if you're going to be just about anything it might as well be the beautiful occasion of your wedding absolutely I like that attitude have you been sharing tips with Logan about marriage and what that whole journey is like I mean marriage is great but uh in terms of like wedding planning I've been giving lots of unsolicited advice and he's like yeah I'm I appreciate that and I'm not going to do that I think I think we pretty much just want to copy your wedding because it was so perfect oh what is like the number one thing you want to copy about Joey's wedding oh right uh like location and Vibes and it was just it was was is perfect Vibes were Immaculate Vibes were great Vibes were Immaculate you know just keeping it uh in a beautiful location that's that's the best part like when if you have the great place men the love or anything it's no no because then you get everybody together and then you are you writing your own vows not yet yeah but yeah soon I wrote my own vows but I did it very close to the wedding how about you Joey oh I started that's such a good question actually I like that we're talking about this because the minute we got engaged I started like making notes in my notes app um cuz I was like really dressed I wanted them to be perfect I was like this is arguably the most important like speech of my life and so I really was focused on it well and here you are today so happy about all of it you both started also in this business at such a young age uh a commercial early on yeah my first my first job was a life serial commercial when I was four years old what was that Logan you watch the commercial and there she is so cute I started in commercials too I I did like two commercials one was like a Cabbage Patch Kids uh commercial do you remember what you said uh yeah I do remember that I remember being like a terror to the director and the director is being like please do what I'm asking you and I was like no what was want you to do what were you supposed to say I was in a pool it was like a Cabbage Patch like pool toy I don't know I don't remember it very well but I was like I'm not going to go in I'm not going to dunk my head in no here you are your temperamental ways didn't hurt you in any way here we are so nice to see both of you Joey Logan it is
