George Lopez recently reflected on the profound impact Sandra Bullock had on his life during an episode of the iHeart Radio podcast politic kin with Gavin Nome Marshon Lynch and Doug Hendrickson Lopez revealed that bulock has been a significant figure in his career describing her as someone who changed the direction of his life Lopez shared a personal story from the mid to late '90s a period when he was struggling with alcohol Bullock was planning to attend one of his Comedy Club performances but Lopez feeling embarrassed about his State pleaded with the manager to keep her away I didn't want her to see me like this he confessed he even went so far as to get on his knees in the Green Room begging not to let her in their professional relationship took a pivotal turn about a year and a half later when Bullock came on board as an executive producer for Lopez's TV show at that time Lopez was looking for new talent and bulock support was a GameChanger I had already kind of cleaned up a little bit and then she saw me and she's like come to my office and we sat there for like 3 hours I'd never had anybody believe in me Lopez recalled The George Lopez Show premiered in 2002 and enjoyed a successful run for six seasons before ending in 2007 Lopez credited bulock with altering the course of his life and expressed deep gratitude stating she changed the direction of my life and you know everybody that's in my family family and for no other purpose other than she just thought I was funny
