batting below 200 against him and it just tells me they have a hard time tracking the baseball maybe it's the release point maybe it's the motion but just some way somehow they've got to figure out a way to pick it up and try to have some success from the left side good eye on that on the ground right side Morel one out the top of the first as we take a look at the Padre's lineup one guy leading the way offensively for this club right now Mason McCoy you know boo he really makes the most out of his skill sets leading the team in steals in on base percentage and you know you got sometimes a GU that can run really well but he doesn't get on base enough to utilize that potential as soon as this guy gets on first he's thinking about second and then third he's got the wheels to make that kind of stuff happen and really disrupt the ball game I love watching guys like can who just make stuff happen in the lineup got it by and that's the first strike out of his major leag career it could be the first of many if he meets the goals he's set for himself and the expectations others have for him doesn't want to just win games he wants to dominate at this level do you think Young pitchers could sometimes get too caught up in trying to rack up KS early in their career Bo I think they can it's kind of like a hitter that doesn't have power The Thrill is still hitting the ball over the fence and so for a guy even if he doesn't have power stuff or strikeout stuff a strike out is still something that makes him stick his chest out a little bit further next pitch misses inside and the think when you got a guy that's this talented on the mound you got to find ways to disrupt his rhythm make him uncomfortable a little bit the guys that can handle the bat and perhaps you know bunt bunt for a base hit get him moving off the mound if you're in the box and he seems to be just in a flow step out mess up his timing somehow try to get in his head a little bit and then when he does come in the zone you may only get one pitch you better not miss it misses the countown two and two and singy as a team you need to make the most of the very few opportunities he's going to give you right absolutely and and you know if you don't get to guys like this a lot of times early once they really settle in it's going to be the later Innings that they hand that ball over to a relever if they do it all here's the rookie third baseman Junior Camero there's a swing and a drive that's going back back some more and that one hops the wall now around second going for third and this is going to be a two out triple Junior Camero with his first major league hit and this is the moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming Bo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you can take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you work to get here now here's the Tampa B cleanup hitter Josh low two outs the strategy of win in a ball game when you can make that pitcher work a little more expose himself by throwing pitches that could be the a winning perhaps later on so good job of extending this inning getting a knock with two outs to bring the number four up left hand hitter Waits waves at the Bender for the strike out a lot of adrenaline we can see it right there and sometimes you just got to let it out that's an outstanding job of taking that executing and getting out of a tough inning back now in Tampa Bay here's Manny Machado when you talk about Elite defensive third baseman this guy is at the top of the list stud when you look at Players like this you play that Hot Corner got to be pretty courageous over there with the way balls come off the bat that's the kind of guy that every year you expect him to be in the All-Star Game and have a gold glove if not a plaum glove thats the zone and is strike two so what are the skills you look for that make a really good defensive third Bas that Elite well Bo one of the things I think about immediately are just the feet does he have good feet is he able to quickly react and when you have Good Feet you've got soft hands and soft hand Defenders are able to make tough plays look easy gets to first one up one down here's Xander Bogarts the next pitch misses and it's two and one swing and a miss by Washington with home plate duties in this one little bit of a low Zone Bo from Clyde nothing crazy though pitchers they work consistently down around the knees and are able to Comm in their off speed stuff tend to have some pretty good success with him back there behind the plane fans don't really understand the familiarity and relationship players and coaches have with umpires I mean you see them a lot yeah Bo they're all out there trying to do their best and perform at a high level so when you respect that I think over time you can develop a relationship with them on the ground right side tosses to first two up two down to the top of the second well he's doing a nice job of keeping the ball out of the air let the defense another to do anything with that pitch you see it so well but you have to respect the velocity and it is hard to catch up to Christopher Morell getting ready to hit one down base is empty bouns it off still in the home half of inning number two the cat digs in now this is a guy who is very highly regarded defensively fun to watch him control stuff behind the plate Good Game caller good at framing but it's that big arm that really stands out and that's a base hit and that keeps the inning alive Ben W with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game expecting it and it just kind of freezes you and that's outside big swing and a miss he has a tendency to chase out of the zone and that slider that's down that's one of his money pitches to get that looking to get the tying run on base just missed part of the order coming through now and with one home run already in this inning they're definitely looking to do some more damage two and one now outs runner at first next for the Padre's Jackson Merill and a one1 and another ball if you're base runner you got to stay dialed in here look for anything in the dirt try your best to get in scoring position two one now wouldn't chase that time a rare three ball count here he's been throwing strikes all day got to be ready to hit if you're in the Box laboring here about to throw his 30th pitch of the inning fouls one away and now three and two 32 two out run on first lot of movement in the infield H got to stay focused on the pitch right hander kick steals here's a rip to sh but he's there for fielder Josh l the two- one swings through that one out in front that time he's pitching well but not throwing a ton of first pitch strikes usually doesn't work out for success but he can never predict baseball got him looks like he's picked up right where he left off very frustrating right there as a speedy potential base runner when with two strikes you just struggle to put the ball in play you don't even have to get a hit at that point you can help your team just by reaching on an error but some way got to find a way to shorten up the swing and put the ball in play next time here's swings and misses on the fast up in the zone for the strike out with that kind of velocity and elevated fast even if it's still in the strike zone can be tough for hitters to get on top last chance
