August 25th 1994 was really 30 years ago you can't believe it because this comes off of VHS tape from the era of haven't caught up yet because I got married and had a little kid so it's from an A&E version of the program in concert did every Network have a series called in concert well A&E did 30 years ago here's Keith Richards being interviewed and they showed clips from the commercially released Hollywood Palladium video and uh so we're not including any of those but the interview's unique so enjoy Keith 30 years ago he's barely aged fellow Rolling Stones bandmate and drummer Charlie watt says Keith Richards is made of something music likes to be around from The Palladium in Hollywood here's Keith with his own band the ex pensive Wier know and take it so hard that's another one of those riffs which is it just sort of drips off your fingers you know it's uh you're not even conscious of playing it once it starts it takes over it's a it's it's just fun to play that one it's Beauty uh yes I am in two P actually uh um and uh it's uh I mean for me it's a privilege I I kind of feel like spoiled because I work with the best guys in the world in either Bank and you know it's uh for a rhythm guitar player like me which is what I basically do it's uh to be able to play with drum is that good is it's a joy you know I don't have to go one two three four all the time you know feel it since the beginning Keith Richard's fascination with delta blues has served as a base for Rolling Stone songs his skills as a master guitarist have enabled him to take the genre to new heights well I mean if you if you consider like what is music it's uh you can say that silence is your canvas right it's the same if you were painting I mean you've got a blank space and painting is putting the right marks in the right style and the right stroke at the right in the right place and in a way uh silence is one of your best friends as a musician because that is depth so if you if if you you can use silence it's part of music you know making a noise on silence if basically is what music is and if you and if you just cover all of that silence up you've lost one of the important [Music] factors thank you for watching Cleveland live music I can't play a lick that's why I'm a taper thanks for watching the channel and making it grow you want to subscribe that'd be appreciated patreon Gund me would be appreciated maybe I could get guitar lessons
