[Music] what's going on guys my name is Zachary Thomas and I live in my car today if you haven't seen my last video uh I put a platform into my car to sleep on and today we are cutting the mattress I have uh what is this like probably like 4 in pretty pretty thick pretty thick memory foam and I'm going to lay it on top um I may lay two I'm not really sure yet and we're going to see uh if we can do this so I'm measuring everything out right now and uh yeah I'll show you guys how I'm doing it all right so I have this board here and I'm going to measure this to see if it is 19 in it should be because that's how long that's how wide my bed is so I want to make sure that the memory foam is the right size for the bed what we're going to do is move this over to where uh it is about 19 in and it's going to take me a minute to get through this because it's so thick uh my dad said that I could just sit down on it press down but um this stuff's too thick I don't think I'm going to be able to do that so I'm just going to have to cut it uh however as I as I go I guess um let's see just going to put the potato measure try and line it up try and make sure that it's straight but I'm not too worried about it after all if you saw my last video I'm just kind of winging this all right we're going to get this little pieces of wood out the way and we're going to take a sharpie and just kind of draw a straight line just uh we just trace it all the way through all the way to the back and then now all we have to do is Trace the other side all the way through and then we can just follow that line all the way and um with our razor blade I got this from my old job it's not the best for this but we're going to make it work all right that looks was close enough so well yeah it looks close enough dude all right there we go it's mostly straight looks good yeah we're definitely going to be able to do uh two we're definitely going to be able to do two if we need to um I don't think we're going to need two of them I think this is going to be plenty to sleep on but uh we're just going to cut straight through it all right so I got some fabric SC scissors and we're just going to start cutting through it I figure these might work a little bit better they might not who really knows go boom all right that is our first mattress it's not pretty but it'll work I think the stacking two on top of each other is just going to be a little bit too high um but I did not notice that these kind of split apart but I feel like it's not supposed to split apart so it's going to make a really big mess and I don't feel like dealing with that so got ourselves a nice little mattress it's probably a little bit too long but I think it's all right it's uh 6 feet long which means that it's definitely going to hang so let's go put it in my car and see what we're dealing with all right let's see there we go is a little bit long actually it's very long so we're probably going to cut have to cut off a little bit to um to make it fit precisely so um let's see probably about I got a pin in here so I can just use this so probably about right right here did that right no uh it's probably good enough so I also want to cut off a little bit more cuz I don't want this uh I don't want this too far up I want to be still be able to reach into my glove box at least a little bit I can't reach in there too much but I still want to be able to access it so probably a little bit more and this thing is a pain to deal with oh this ink pin's even dead actually uh let's see this one work better better than the last one that's probably all I'm asking for so we're going to go back and cut this and then we we can bring it back out here all right so we're going to cut by this second line and this one we can just cut straight through it's not that much see we don't have to use the same strategy as we did earlier but probably would have made it a little bit easier cuz this stuff is really thick which is why I'm thinking that I won't need more than one all right got that done let's go put it back in there looks like we did pretty well honestly pretty well uh honestly I think this is going to be plenty I think I have plenty of room um it's a little bit short but that's fine we'll make do with what we have all right so after deleting like 10 videos before I started recording my phone fill up filled up with storage so it cut the last video off but I got it in there um now all I need to do is go get sheets uh pillow stuff like I have a pillow but I think I want something a little bit different than what I have um but now I have to clean up all this because cuz it's a mess all right guys we are about to go into Walmart to look for some sheets to make this look really nice um I'm not sure what kind of sheets I'm going to get yet but we're going to see what they have and uh go from there change of plans they don't have electricity at Walmart apparently so we are going to go to Target instead uh hopefully they have electricity there so what I'm thinking is probably a fitted sheet a sheet that's pretty much all I need I don't need like a bill of case or anything like that I just need to fit the sheet in the sheet really I mean I have uh I have some pillows already and I have a blanket already so I don't really need all that so we're going to see if they actually have that so they have these it's for a full um oh look they have a twin right here which will be a lot better it's blue cuz my car is mainly blue so I think that'll go nicely now we need to look for something for my mom we'll see if you guys can guess what it is by what I'm looking at probably so it's going to be pretty obvious so I'm thinking this koala is really good I like the koala a lot uh I want to get something really really small so I'm thinking maybe something off of up here like a little hedgehog or something uh I'm not really sure yet I think a mic just go with the koala honestly yeah we're just going to go with the koala um they don't have what I was actually looking for this is kind of just a um a gift I guess so we just left Target I'm trying to figure out how I want to get to uh Petco or I can just go to PetSmart I'm sure they're probably going to have the same basic things uh the reason is cuz to get the Pet Smart I think I just have to like go through the parking lot to get to Petco I have to actually cross an intersection that's a pain to cross so I think I might just go to PetSmart instead after looking at everything I call my mom and she's just going to stick with what she has uh because it's a lot cheaper um but yeah we're basically just playing by ear right now and uh yeah now we just head back home and put my sheets on since I couldn't go to Walmart I think I'm just going to uh go run through the McDonald's drive-thru real quick to get me something cuz I really haven't eaten anything today uh so we're going to pick up something to eat and then put my sheets on um I have an idea of how I want to do it but I don't know if it's going to work so we're just going to experiment see what works what doesn't work but um it should look really good afterwards and um yeah I'm pretty much after I get the bed set up I'm pretty much set to uh start traveling um as far as I can think of I have something to show you guys in the next video that I just got in the mail today and um yeah awesome so we're going to go put these sheets on after I get McDonald's also I was looking at uh Target and the other day I was looking I was at Walmart and I was trying to find the original toaster strudles the cinnamon toas toaster strudles and they just they don't sell them anymore they only sell like strawberry which is so weird do you guys have like the original TOA strudles there or did they just stop making them cuz that was so weird like I I never thought that the cinnamon would be taken out you know like the like strawberry sounds great but like I wanted I want cinnamon you know I don't know but yeah that was something that was pondering like I don't know if they just stopped selling them or what like I I can't find them I thought that maybe Target might have them so I went look and they didn't so if anywhere Walmart should have them right like they have such a big selection they should but maybe some other grocery store has them let me know in the comments if you guys have the Cinnamon Toast of schudel so I got the sheets and I got a stapler what we're going to do is put the sheet over the foam and then staple the sheet to the sheet to keep it from sliding off um I wanted to I'm pretty sure this is the right one yeah all right so let's try and get this over into the back and just try to get it all the way around first this looks to be a pretty good size and it's going to be a lot tighter once I uh once I staple everything to each other it'll be a lot more snug just flip it over there's a lot more right here than back here so I'm going to need to probably pull it up try and do this my little strings are getting in the way okay just staple it right here that'll work and then just staple it again out here and then when we flip it over it's at least a little bit more snug I could probably do it a little bit better on this side open the back door okay shove this under it doesn't look half bad now we have a sheet then we can just throw that over and fold it under like you normally [Music] would there's a lot more since it's such a uh small bed there's a lot of extra so it's not going to look perfect I'd say that looks pretty good right nice little blue and that's it now all I got to do is uh get my pillow and basically just put everything back in here and uh I got these these pillowcases that I don't really well one pillowcase I thought it was two pillowcases but one pillowcase that you know what maybe I might need that maybe I can pick up a pillow and uh just have an extra pillow you know um but yeah that's it that's my bed uh this was probably the easiest part for sure but um it was still a lot of work to to build this thing and I'm happy with it I'm happy that I finally finished it I got a couple more things that I want to get before I leave unfortunately Walmart was closed today so uh I might have to just wait until I'm on the road to pick it up somewhere else if Walmart keeps uh closing on me but yeah now all that's left to do is to basically just load everything back in here and uh then we're heading out I'm not sure where I'm going to go yet um Arizona is starting to get a little bit too hot for me so I'm thinking maybe the Pacific Northwest for sure definitely going to head out that way but I don't know we'll see we'll see where the road takes me um but yeah I appreciate everybody
