Pat McAfee returning to his old stomping grounds at WVU on Friday the former NFL kicker and Mountaineer Legend hosting the Pat McAfee show ahead of the Mountaineers football home opener against number eight ranked Penn State McAfee drew a large crowd outside WVU's downtown campus a place he called home for four years the dean of students Cory Ferris says McAfee's reach is beyond the blue and gold bringing a new sense of energy to campus just in time for the season opener it's a mixed generational crowd because we've got fans who remember him when he was a WV uh football player and then when he played professionally and then we've got current students who are in the mix of it because he's a popular star uh on on pregame shows and so it's a it's it's just a fun day Ferris also says it helps put morgant town on the map for potential students this puts us in the spotlight for so many else uh around the country to see and I always look at it is we've got future students who are watching us and may come here next year or the following year in five years whenever they graduate from high scho school so it is a great Spotlight for us to Showcase a beautiful city and a great campus and a great University guests on the show included head coach Neil Brown the director of Athletics and quarterback Garrett green WVU will take on Penn State at noon on Saturday at Mountaineer Stadium Luke Hamilton WSAZ Morgantown
