Ron Howard has expressed his concern over the rhetoric in Donald Trump's campaign despite his connection to vice presidential candidate JD Vance Howard who directed the film adaptation of Vance's Memoir hillbilly elegy revealed they rarely discuss politics during production I have been surprised and concerned by a lot of the rhetoric coming out of that campaign Howard said in a recent interview the filmmaker emphasized that his interactions with Vance were focused on his upbringing and Survival Story not his political views there's no version of me voting for Donald Trump to be president again whoever the vice president was Howard asserted Howard encouraged voters to make informed decisions based on the current statements and actions of the candidates
