Blockbuster match here on Grand standand for the first round of the US Open you've just defeated the 2021 US Open Champion that must feel pretty good yes I'm super happy you know you guys support means so much to me and yeah thank you for keeping me going and you know as you said it was a roller coaster match and you know Emma is such a tough player and you know she played some great tennis and I'm just super happy to have won that was a match with quite a few swings in momentum obviously the first set you know going your way then Emma coming back strong in the second set third set was a topsy tury one just sort of how did you manage that match cuz cuz it was wasn't so straightforward was it yeah no I mean it was super close and third set I feel like it could have gone either way and you know I try to handle my nerves and the support from you guys and everything in the box like it means a lot so thank you so much and listen Sophia we all know about the wonderful things you've done in tennis obviously winning a grand slam making it through to a grand slam final that can come with its own challenges can't it but ultimately it sets you up well doesn't it for the US Open you know what it takes to go deep in competitions and experience I'm sure you'll draw on here at the US Open this year yeah of course I mean I try to take one match at a time and you know Emma won this you know a few years ago and you know I feel like it was a great uh Blockbuster first round match and you know I'm happy no I'm happy to have gone through and try to get ready for the next match and we'll see what happens and talking about that next match obviously Jessica puler and Shelby Rogers are on Arthur rash Stadium this evening that's your next match the winner of of that one one do you watch it or do you go home and relax and and and unwind after this difficult match I mean um I'm just going to you know relax and I mean I've got doubles tomorrow so you guys come support me and bany and yeah I'll just you know get in the zone tomorrow we'll see all right listen well play good luck in your doubles match tomorrow we'll see you in the second round well play thank you
