well guys the reviews have started to hit for Joker 2 and what we're talking about here is a giant mixed bag of reactions and in today's video we are going to be looking at the one and only Metacritic which now we cover on the channel because when it came to just Rotten Tomatoes people were saying it's not fair because Deadpool and Wolverine got a lower score on Metacritic so it's only fair that we do both of them going forward from this point on [Music] well guys reviews are starting to come in from some of the big popular outlets and trades like the New York Times variety deadline and so forth and well the Metacritic has officially been revealed and when the film debuted it had a 52 so now we're going to just uh jump on over into this video I recorded of Metacritic and I'm just going to scroll through the video slowly and you guys can just see these scores and um you can quickly just glance at like the little blurb from the review if you will to like what it's telling you and how to sort of look at it and what you're getting from it but to say that it's a mixed bag would be I think on point right there you see the mixed it's the majority of it negative is the least and positive is uh right there you know more towards the positive not so much toward the negative but it's about the middle it's balanced out by the look of it and well when you start getting into this and start looking at what the reviews and blurbs are saying essentially you get a interesting picture here of um what's going on with this film so first and foremost there seems to be a split on the comedy slash musical aspects that seems to be dividing a lot of people some are saying the first film had a couple of these moments here or there but they don't really land the same that there's some repeat there if you will that they do a lot of things the same but then the music comes in and almost like they were too safe with the music like they didn't want to commit to making this a musical and the way they handle it is almost the cop out while others are saying the way they handle it is great because it is a copout which it's weird cuz even positive and negatives are like yeah it's a copout but again I have the beholder right some people love a specific twist alien Romulus for example I love what they did in that third act I know people that hate it so again you know it's up to everybody but it is what it is I'm just presenting you guys here with the actual facts on the screen so you guys can see them cuz out of anything I talk about Joker I need to do this for because the fan base goes insane um so here you go and you know look at Vanity Fair that's really shocking to me honestly with a 30 saying very little happens Beyond those walls saying that it's dull pointless and seems to be like a waste of time and just stringing the audiences along look I don't know what to say till I see it from myself you guys know I'm like in the middle on the first film there's a lot of things I like and then there's some stuff I don't like I have a feeling this might end up being the same although who knows it could surprise me again reviews are subjective this isn't meant to be taken like a fact that it's hey it's a 52 a Metacritic you know just um we'll see what happens happens obviously Rotten Tomatoes will be out soon as well I assume so we'll talk about that but um it's looking like this is starting off on the lower end compared to what people thought [Music]
