Brace For Thursday: Ontario's Severe Weather Breakdown

Thursday is shaping up to be a significant severe weather day so we'll walk through each Hazard step by step we'll discuss the strong potentially damaging wind threat that exists a large hail threat with large towering thunderstorms can't rule out a couple tornadoes in this setup and torrential rain so we'll start with the wind gust associated with this thunderstorm we have a strong low-level jet that could mix down winds Thursday afternoon and evening associated with these thunderstorms 90 100 even 110 km an hour We're work on those details as we get closer to Thursday we're working with moderate to strong amounts of storm energy that is an inherent hail threat a large amount of available energy builds large updrafts and if you get them rotating and sustained for long duration that can build very large hailston so we'll keep an eye on that and associated with storms that rotate is the potential for tornadoes ahead of this cold front it's in fact timed with the daytime heating that you know 4 to 8:00 p.m. hour is Peak tornadic potential will keep an eye on that area circled in purple subject to change here it is the atmosphere is Juiced up lots of moisture but storms will be moving so that'll mitigate the threat of widespread flooding and here's a look at some of the storm timing early afternoon and Beyond storms will likely push west to east right through until the evening anywhere from autumn AWA to Karden Southwestern Ontario All Eyes to the Sky and stay tuned for updates over the next couple days [Music] [Music]
