a scary moment for Major League Baseball umpire Nick Marley on Sunday afternoon during the Yankees and Rockies game a broken bat struck the Umpire and sent him crashing to the ground we also have an update on his status later in this video some people are saying that the Umpire was faking it some said he was milking it I'm going to help those people out he was not faking it here we are in the bottom of the fifth inning Stanton is in the Box for those that don't know Stanton has the fastest bat speed in all of Major League Baseball now just imagine getting struck with the bat that is coming out of his hands at that speed that is exactly what happened to Nick Marley broken back Looper into shallow left who's going to get it no one it gunks in there for base hit and the bases reloaded Yankees Advance one man up and Nick Mar like he took a shot on that broken bat yeah I think he might have got some shrapnel off that bad I mean hopefully it didn't hit him in the throat or something like that but how scary was that with oh that was bad um yeah I just saw it by the replay um uh you took it like a champ though like when I when I was in the Box um you know I didn't hear anything on the way uh you know uh grown or anything so I took like a champ uh think's going to be okay so uh that's all good Stanton kind of evened out for him watched the end result of this probably came back and hit him oh boy o i mean that is a jam shot the Marley was taken to a local hospital for treatment he was diagnosed with a concussion and will undergo more testing he will not work his next series which would have started tomorrow we wish Marley a quick recovery to see somebody hurt no obviously I mean uh hopefully it's a precautionary thing and everything's okay but uh yeah you're definitely uh have seen the last of Nick Marley behind the plate today he's going to get a nice
