restricting or categorizing atlete it's about creating condition where their unique skill and talent can shine through in essence the classification system ensure that athlet are competing against other with a comparable level of impairment this way the competition is fair and victory is determined by skill strategy and effort rather than extent of athlete disability in par Olympic sport the classification system use a communication combination of numbers and letters to categ to categorize atlete for example you might see classification like T for Track event or F for field event this letter are followed by a number to specify athlete classification within the within that categories the process of classif classification involves several step including medical assessment functional test and expert judgment a team of classifier consisting of trained professional evaluate each athlete to determine the appropriate classification it's important to note that class ification is not one time event it's an ongoing process where ATL can be reclassified as their condition change ensuring that they continue to compete against athlete with the similar abilities the classification
