The M.S. in Athletic Training Program here at the University of Tampa is a two-year, graduate-level program in athletic training. It's designed to make sure that students have all of the content, knowledge and clinical experiences as it relates to the practice domains in athletic training. It's a generalist degree, is what we call it, where you can work in any practice setting and the students come in as a cohort together each summer. The Master's of Science in Athletic Training program is a six-semester program, designed starting summer of the first year of the program, where we'll introduce you to emergency care and introduction into therapeutic modalities and interventions, as well as clinical assessment before you dive into your first clinical immersion experience at the end of the semester. The six semesters are designed to cover the whole domains of athletic training, whether it be from risk reduction, wellness to clinical examination and diagnosis to health literacy, quality improvement, healthcare administration. So in the six semesters of the program, we'll cover all of those domains. So by the end of the program, you're ready to sit for your board of certification exam and become an athletic trainer. Upon graduation, our students will be expected that they can practice as an entry-level athletic trainer in any setting. So, The University of Tampa has a very unique program in the way that we have two different routes to get your master's degree. Your first degree is the traditional, you get your four-year baccalaureate degree and you sit for six semesters and you get your master's degree. The other option is you can have a direct entry route right out of high school, where you apply as a freshman and you go through and you'll earn your bachelor's degree and your master's degree in five years rather than traditional six years. Well, coming here to Tampa, will provide the students in the program with some variety of opportunities in the clinical education as well as on the academic side and the interactions that we will have with physicians and other educators that we'll bring in. On the clinical side, we've got really strong clinical rotations in our high school rotation, physician practice rotation, where we have some very strong preceptors and physicians that we work with. Opportunities abound here with the college and university settings, both the division one and division two, and then we have an expanding program, with respect to the professional sports area. Students should pursue UT's M.S. AT for multiple reasons. One, our history. We've been a program for over 20 plus years, and we have a very strong educational background. Our pass rate is very high. Our last three years, it's a hundred percent. And we also are able to provide not only a fantastic clinical experience, but also our faculty bring their clinical experience as well. All of our core faculty have worked in the field, which is a unique thing in our profession. So, therefore, not only do you get our educational experience in the classroom, but we also bring our clinical expertise and combine that to help the students learn how to make it applicable to their clinical setting.
