[Music] officers are on the scene Thursday morning of what police are calling an active shooting at a Broomfield apartment complex near the First Bank Center Police Department said this is an active scene and is not safe the Broomfield Police Department said in a statement on social media at 8:07 a.m. shots are still being fired shots were fired at the Arista Flats apartment complex in Broomfield on Thursday near the First Bank Center and just south of the UC Health Broomfield Hospital police set Jefferson Academy Secondary School 1 mile east of the shooting is on secure status vice principal Marty perco said it's business as usual within the building but the school doesn't let anyone in or send any students home reverse emergency notifications were sent to Residents in the area to shelter in place and limited evacuations been done police said people should avoid the area
