honeyy gosh almighty who the heck are they hey Flim Flam BIM Bam oh miss by golly and welcome to V Hemingway Stadium where the rebels are ready to take the field we have a ranked versus unranked battle coming up here and you know how chaos can ensue if they start smelling an upset as we'll see a squad from the SEC the Auburn Tigers taking on the fifth ranked team in the land the Miss rebel for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer time to get this game started the rebels will kick it away to start us off he'll bring it out it's Jackson gets it out to the 20 about five yd short of where he'd be if he had just taken an KN in the end zone so Auburn's offense will take the first swing of the game and here's the man they want to get the ball to in this passing game this is the type of receiver David when he's covered he's still open I'm still he's still putting that hand up in the air coach I'm still open and more importantly his quarterback knows that they're going to move him all over the field they're going to feature him on offense they're going to make sure he gets a lot of touches whether he's open or whether he's open cuz he's always open after the three- yd pickup they come to the line second and [Applause] seven looking to throw it's Thorne just a short pass to the tight end and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play well you hear all the time that the tight ends the QB's best friend you saw a perfect example of it on that last play right second down you need to pick up some positive yards to keep this third down manageable really nice job of executing this is where you make the money on the drive ball at the 30 third and short touch pass on the Jet Sweep he couldn't find anywhere to go and now it's fourth down and that's a gut punch especially if you're the offensive coordinator because that was sort of a foreign look the pre- snap motion a timing play trying to get the receiver the football quickly you're expecting to outflank the defense but give the defense a ton of credit they made the bigger play and now they've set you up in a fourth down fourth down punt team sends it the other way no return coming here fair catch is signal for and made just shy of the 30 so all Miss offense will go to work for the first time today here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play well they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box Score but these are the guys are the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed and the rebels racing to the line in the hurry up the give on the inside good job running tough and behind his pads as he gets up to the 38 yd line and as an offense having success on a run play like that early in the game just opens all the possibilities of your playbook moving forward play action running the ball throwing the ball screens anything is at your disposal at this point looking for a man it's D got his man in the middle and he gets it to the 44 yd line it'll be a first down shotgun fundamentals are so key he was like a short stop caught the shotgun stab and right away rifled it out of his hands like he was turning two that was beautiful the rebels will have it first and [Applause] 10 it's incomplete and trust me you will not see that very often from this guy it's second down I love the quick decision that QB made there on that RPO knowing he wanted to get it out of his hands fast he just needs to make a more accurate throw moving forward really need positive yards on second down after the incompletion they'll snap it from the 44 hand off from the gun they'll give him a couple that leaves him with third and eight you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs even if they don't convert picking up a few would give them a decision to make on fourth down third and long from the 45 finds a man on the left he'll work his way down to the 28 if I'm a defense I got to find a way to get some more pressure on the quarterback or disrupt their timing and their Rhythm I can't give them these big CHP plays through the air I got to be maybe a little bit more aggressive or do something a little bit different and the rebels have this offense rolling quarterback on the keeper good pick up on that play it'll bring up second and four this defense really has their hands full guys they got to play with great eye discipline because they don't know who's going to be keeping the football in the Run game and that time you saw the QB he was able to kind of skirt his way to get some positive yards after a good pick up on the run it's second down looking for a man it's D quick completion on the out he steps out of bounds but it will be enough for a first down receivers always have to be so careful around the sideline to not step out accidentally so give that receiver credit nice job on the route to bring the ball in while on a tight R the rebels will hustle to the line they move the tight end all over to the ground with the back and he's able to bounce off one tackle for a solid pick up I think tackling is about effort most of the time it's about how much passion how much physicality you can bring to get your guy on the ground refuse not to get him on the ground that's not a big back you got to get that guy on the ground you can't let him pick up an extra couple yards and stay ahead of the sticks [Applause] power football with the run draged down at the six after a pick up of two boy they'd love to pick up this conversion and go to work with they first goal they're going to go to the air on Third and short and he's going to take it into the end zone touchdown Rebel timely decisions effective play management helps him get in the end zone after that marathon drive and every time the offense needed a play Boom they got it I mean you think about it whether it it's a small run small pass whatever they needed they got it done and they popped it in for theore [Music] [Music] lining up for the p exra and he's got the extra point and it's seven nothing to start this one they March 72 yds and they get it into the Z with a 6yd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there set to boot it away what kind of field position can he help him with on the return I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 they'll run the RPO and fire to the right and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there they line up for a second down [Applause] play we've come to the end of the period and Old Miss is on top we've played one before we move on let's have a look at stats heading in the opposite directions now as we Crank It Up in the second looking for a gap it's Hunter makes a man miss he got a bunch and look close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down you know in the SEC you're going to have to run the football if you going to win games and you can go on and on talking about great Auburn running backs back in the day but right here right now if this team's going to win an SEC Championship they need to force feed this guy the football let him go to work wants to throw on first down off the play fake he's got an open man let me tell you this senior quarterback can flat fit it in a tight window they might have the defense's head spinning a little bit now hit him with a big run now they hit him with a big pass man it's so hard to defend both you know that which coverage do I want to put want to put more people in the Box to stop the run when you've got this kind of balance on offense the defense can't be right pulls it and fires to the left just finds that little crevice and he's still up touchdown Tigers made the snag and strolled his way into the endzone when that receiver got free it was all over and it's so nice to have a receiver like this as a quarterback cuz you pad my stats I like those long touchdown passes where I just threw it really short and he did the rest of the work [Applause] ling up to add another right down the middle kick quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they finish it in style with a 57 yd toss for six all tied up in just out set to kick it away and he'll bring it out of the end zone he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Old Miss ready to send the offense onto the field off the play fake on first down to throw just flying through the air like a superhero to make the grab man I I love those guys that are willing to put their body on the line does it right here man just lays out that Ball's coming in you can see it from several yards out making that play laying out keeping the football from touching the turf great concentration great effort by the [Applause] receiver to the air it's D and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down my job is to make sure that ball comes loose and I got to go through that guy use my shoulder pad drive my feet and really really be physical cuz he bobbles at at all as soon as his hand gets to the ball you can tell the difference when that body jerks forward and that ball starts to come loose and pop out maybe a three yd pickup there third and long coming up and sticking to the run I tell you what a lot of teams that are really good are really stubborn and they continue to run the football even with little success so this offense is going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell and the rebels want to pick up the tempo the give to the tail back and they did not let him reach the line gain it'll bring up a decision here [Applause] the rebels will call on their punt team this will be their first punt of the [Applause] afternoon on the return it's Scott smashes ahead the solid return there offsets some of the yardage and really sets up this offense nicely leaves it with the running back running with power some space getting just enough good blocking and they've got it up to the 47 yd line this defense has got to get better tackling in the open field of game tackling because if you need three or four guys to bring a guy down have fun with that that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short rides to the back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one defense is about seeing it and pulling the trigger P the trigger so fast get to the back get him on the ground quick offense breaks the Huddle it's third [Applause] down they'll try to run for it he's got first down yardage across the 50 they'll mark it at the 49 well the defense knew coming into this one it was going to be a physical game guys are going to have to be great at the point of attack get off blocks and make tackles it couldn't stop the offense from picking up that first down on that run for Auburn ready to go back to work after getting another first down he'll keep it himself we'll take a quick break here two minutes to play in the first half and now on second down for this offense now he's looking to throw it got it in the middle it's Burton and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pickup a nice job by the QB there timing out that drag throw it's Zone coverage so he's got to make sure he gets it to his receiver in a window to allow him to catch the ball and then turn it up field offense breaks the Huddle on third down they'll try to pick up the first through the air grab near the sticks it's Lewis excellent job working through the air they're finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down really nice job there by the quarterback understanding that it's Zone coverage on third down you're going to have to find someone working into a soft spot get the ball out of your hands quickly make an accurate throw and pick up the first well done unloads to the wide out oh what a SP layout in catch man it must be so nice for this quarterback to know he doesn't got to be perfect with his throws he's got dudes that can lay out make catches like that it's almost as if he went into slow motion just gliding through the air to make that catch the Tigers will try to put one on the board on first and goal dropping back it's Thorne into the end zone makes the grab quick timeout from the offense to save precious seconds and that first down Gasher they're close to the end zone second and goal coming pushes toward the goal line and he takes it in for the score touchdown Au follow the blocker the offensive line will take you to the Hallelujah land and I tell you what most of the time Reese it requires a little bit of skill to find that hole and you know Slither through a little crack that was not a crack that was wide open didn't take a lot of vision cuz the blocking was outstanding now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and the pat gives him a 14-7 lead that touchdown Drive covered 61 yds and it was closed out by the short yardage touchdown the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one away returner will field it and try to get some field position really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 y offense ready to go back to work so late in the half this is really an opportunity David maybe to swing the momentum in their favor dang right no time to be conservative we're a little bit down listen I just think this is a point with the offense that they can prove like we're here we're going to create something now that we can build onto the second half coach said all week he wanted to be aggressive this is a great opportunity to show that right now at the end of the first half try and generate some momentum score some points before going into half time and a really good job by the quarterback being very decisive he saw his matchup he went for it he attacked it got the positive game I would say he's going to find that guy a few more times today this offense will snap it from the 42 on First and 10 he wants to throw fires to the big fella and he might be known for one pitch but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half looking down field it's dark getting some heat the quarterback bought as much time as he could but the defense got to him and sacked him there's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half on Third and long a check down would be the last resort and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop timeout is called and it's the defense wanting to make sure that everyone's on the same page for this big down and the rebels will line up to punt it away this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and The Return Man will have no chance as the ball sails out of bounds offense set on first down from the gun the G looking for room good solid run today and there is no better place to start this halftime than by reviewing how this wide out has been a Onan wrecking clue the kid's been everywhere and I love how he's willing to go across the middle but that he also has the Jets to burn these DBS on the def ball if this defense wants to actually come back in this one they better hide his and with that let's head back to the Grove at our phas at B heing way Stadium Auburn ready to boot it deep to start the second half looks like he's going to try to return it didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Miss ready to send the offense on to the field they start this third quarter one possession game and hoping to get an early drive going and he is snowed under sacked at the seven what a great play by one of their biggest Playmakers in the dline I can say this personally I got my first start in college at Jorden Stadium it was brutal I think about it and I get PTSD to this day when you get those types of athletes in a three-point stance rushing the quarterback with that crowd noise and your offensive tackles can't hear the snap count it's not a lot of fun trying to pick up seven here on second down from the [Applause] 20 the give from the gun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple you know the runner just has to have a little bit more patience he bounced that thing outside a little too early and as a result lost yards you make up the game and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 back to throw it's D he finds his man and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few love the coverage of not giving up an inch defensively they third down smothering the receiver as soon as he caught the ball down he went they've got this offense Pinn the rebels will bring the punt team onto the field doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the [Applause] punt he gets a puck that Nifty return sets up the offense and negates some of the yardage on the punt now here comes that Auburn offense onto the field again caught in the back field it's Lewis and he's able to shed one tackle and gets a pretty good pickup you can work your way down the field with these wide receiver screens but also for the opportunity to turn him into chunk plays later no doubt you throw it quickly you get it to him now DB comes up has to make a tackle now you fake it maybe a little bit later on so these plays they're not huge plays all the time but they can set up big plays down the road for your offense caught near the sticks it's Burton stopped just inside the 25 will mark it at the 24 pick up of 10 and a first down I tell you what that's great execution between the QB and receiver they look like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch inside the 25 they'll snap it from the 24 first down looking to the big tight end he got it he gets it in touchdown over the offense strikes again to extend its lead here in the second half and they got everything working how great is this you extend your lead now you get your defense back on the field great job taking advantage of the situation and building on that [Applause] lead he'll try to tack on one more the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead quick strike offense on that three play scoring drive and they finish things up with a dart from 24 yds out lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive on the run from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 y offense ready to go back to work this is when the pressure can ramp up a little bit on an offense David when they start feeling the heat to answer a score and I think being down 14 you can kind of feel that way but dude if you put a good drive together this is a seven-point game so Palmer no need to pay it I was just going to say David I mean this thing can flip quick you go down score all of a sudden your defense gets a stop or who knows better yet gets a turnover this game is entirely different [Applause] the give to the back gets away from one f look at that toughness just running through everybody finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down well you saw that broken tackle David this defense has to do a real good job with gang tackling to stop this guy today you cannot assume one guy is going to get him to the ground everybody's got to swarm to the football all eyes on him and play physically off the play fake on first down to throw holds it in and they exploited that soft spot and they get it down to the 35 and the quarterback knew exactly where he wanted to go the football had time spins the ball deep nice job by this offense understanding what the defense is giv him and creating the explosive play and the rebels come to the line in the hurry up out of the shotgun they go to the ground productive four yd gain there on the ground as he gets it down to the 31 it's a nice game but the big theme Here is they just haven't been able to get the Run game going on offense they've been very onedimensional they're just not being physical enough oppent attack solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six On The Run it's dark finds a soft spot in the middle makes the tackle right at the 21 yd line pick up of 10 on the play and his offense is threatening with a first down that wide receiv on the outside's dangerous when you're playing Zone covers it's really hard because you're not chasing him you can't really get hands on him you got to make sure you send more guys his Direction maybe slide those linebackers toward that wide receiver so you got a little more help on the outside hand off from the shotgun they'll give him maybe one on the play it's down to the 20 didn't get much on first down it's second and [Applause] nine he's looking to throw gets it out fast and and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few it's hard to have success on wide receiver screens when you're facing press man coverage because your blockers out front often times can't pick them up and that receiver gets gobbled up as soon as he catches the pass you saw it on that last play now facing a third and long they'll go to the ground he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple well there's just nowhere to go to the runner on that last play just way too much penetration up front and as a result they lose yardage it's fourth down and they'll try the field goal and he'll Envision the ball fight as he lines it up from the right hash and 38 yds out it is perfect put a three spot on the board as we finish the third quarter [Music] no question they wanted to get the ball to their Playmakers and both receivers have come up big through three [Music] kickoff team lining up to send this one [Applause] away fielded In The End Zone it's Scott I imagine he's going to get an ear for on the sideline after bringing it out of the end zone and being knocked down at the 11 looking to go up top on first down he looks that one in nicely and they were looking for a chunk and they got it the explosive picks up more than 30 well I tell you man this guy's been putting on a show all game long we've seen his decision making we've seen his athleticism because of him they've got this huge lead in the fourth quarter so why stop throwing it just keep it going when the Going's good motion from the offense quarterback flips it ahead quickly to the re receiver and a good solid pick up for the defense Cuts him down and these little touch passes man they're just the easiest completions ever for quarterbacks Palmer I bet you would have loved being able to just Flip It Forward that counts as to your completion percentage which is good and then it's all run after to the catch so pretty easy for a QB you wouldn't have been the only allamerican in this boo DAV if I were allowed to put had push passes when I was playing quarterback I'll tell you that it is so hard to defend it's so hard to seal that edge especially when this guy's full speede defense is about firing off get the offensive guys and staying your gaps everybody know where they're supposed to be you could tell the defense everyone was right where they're supposed to be nowhere to a third and long coming up here back to throw it's Thorne unloads it left got him down field and he was on his way and they get him down at the 30 defense just hasn't had an answer for this guy been on point this is about as good as I've seen him play at the quarterback position and here in the fourth quarter with the big lead he's still taking shots the Tigers headed quickly to the line the give to the back and how about the efficiency on that one it'll bring up second and four I think you have to like what you see if you're the coaching staff here your offense is on the field and it looks like you got a pretty good drive going and you're just going to try and keep this thing marching keep the clock ticking you got a really nice lead here late just want to find ways to keep the chains moving they're doing that they'll run the ball the clock is on their side and the Tigers get up for the first down everything going the offense's way they trying to ice this game late theyve got a really nice lead so you just want to run the ball high percentage throws and keep the chains moving and they're doing that this has been a beautiful drive to watch offense continues to stay in a nice Rhythm here late looking for space it's Hunter working his way and keeping those legs moving picks up five down to the 14 and this is a perfect situation this is situation if you asked me to be in before the game the coaches would have been in heaven I got the football I got the lead their side of the field nice gain on first down same exact script do it again run the football run the clock let that thing tick down and if we add points we add points out of the gun they'll run it inside he is tackled but it'll be a fresh set of downs no mystery on that play with the lead we are going to run the ball you know it's coming and we are running right at you right into the teeth of the defense and they're still able to get a ni nice game now with a first and goal let's see what Auburn's got cooking he'll try to get it in with the Run he worked his way ever closer all the way down to the one yd line time out called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible one more yard on this second down might just put an excl point on this one he'll put the tight end in motion power ahead and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense if they can get it in here we could have a thrilling into this game it is third and goal and he takes it in for the score touchdown tigers that score looks as if this one might have put it a little too far out of reach yeah this game's pretty much over that was just the icing on the cake but you know speaking of cake I'm kind of hungry can we can we get out of here can we finish this game so I can go get some to eat lining up to tack one more onto that lead and now with the extra point they're up by 18 here in the fourth almost ready to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown field In The End Zone it's Bentley nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Old Miss ready to send the offense onto the field this has been a really disappointing performance David no question about that but they can find some positive yeah and every time you watch the tap you know Jesse coaches are pointing out look at this this was open if we just ran the details to the right route hung on to the football little things can make a big difference yeah that's why they call it a game of inches David but I'll say this if you're on offense don't go on social media this week it ain't going to be pretty after this performance You' got to lock in you got to take the week of practice very seriously and find those positives that you can build off David you're talking that's what I'm talking about that is how you close and when a guy's going to make a catch you make sure he doesn't make it physicality using your pads running through them and guess what not only this play does he feel it next time he tries to go over the middle or feel footsteps this will pay dividends using the quick game they'll move those chains getting it out to the 29 yd line and trying to get this drive rolling we asked earlier this week who's your favorite receiver and of course he said the open one but we know who he really wants to go to on third down the best one I mean I think the open one obviously the politically correct answer but you want to find the guy that you got that great chemistry with you know exactly where he's going to be you got that bond in that trust ripping off a pretty good Chun of yardage they got it out to the 41 with a first down and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a matchup that he liked running a route where he would find himself opening nice job between those two everybody has to be set they have to get it offe now on second down looking to throw it's dark and that one's incomplete and that's just the kind of game it's been for this quarterback in this offense you got a great game plan all week long you're watching it throughout practice you think you're going to have a chance to light up the scoreboard but they're just not able to hook up you got to give this defense a ton of credit they've done a great job in coverage they've been breaking on passes they've had their number and that's why they're leading by as much as they are on third down going up top and the DB making a huge play knocking it away down field and it's just been that kind of day for this quarterback in this offense guys they have never been able to get into a rhythm throwing the football timing's been off accuracy hasn't been great we've seen some drops just not in think that's why they find themselves trailing by a lot right here late in the game on fourth down they'll pass for it the sh hands it's well and he was able to run through a tackle and they finally get him but not until he picks up the first down the rebels have it with a first int [Music] 10 he's looking to throw it fires to the wide out wide open downfield they've got it inside the 30 they'll mark it at the 28 it's first down you got manto man coverage running that Cur rout that ball has to come out you know you're going to get like you know you stopped your route he's going to be right there but does a great job securing the catch getting the first down and the rebels want to crank the [Applause] tempo and they spike it and get the clock stopped INE up [Applause] this defense just can't get off the field the offense Unstoppable pulls it on the bootleg fake just had to get rid of that one good job to avoid the loss the offense came into this game knowing that for them to win they were going to have to make some big plays throwing the football that just has not been the case here in the fourth quarter they've been held to less than 200 passing yards and that's really the story of the game guys they were really starting to put a drive together but after a couple of incompletions now they need a big play on Third and [Applause] 10 couldn't find a man and just had to throw it away to avoid a negative play at this point of the game in the fourth quarter it is going to be tough for this offense to get some completions here because now trailing by this much the defense is expecting pass and they're putting a whole bunch of extra DBS on the field to help them out in coverage and after this play the cake will be baked on fourth down they'll throw for it lets it fly deep downfield and the pass will be incomplete looking for a little window dressing at the end but the ball game is over
