start for the Cowboys it's a Well the Middle with Malik Davis and the ground game was certainly an emphasis this week in practice Rich they were not happy how the defense played against the Vikings rushing attack no gave up too many big runs and this would be a good test for them even though the Cowboys aren't playing their starters up front this is a big fit as the quarterback competition has been there is a lot of emphasis on the struggles Cooper rushed with the QB sneake and a first down P they gave up over 120 yards on the ground in the first half last week to Minnesota yeah just you know just some misassignments some guys big man in the middle of that defensive line Wilkins the big free agent signing from Miami Rush going to put it in the air Raiders came with a blitz and it's broken up Jack Jones with a great break on the ball on Jaylen Brooks and knocked it out of his hands just watch Jack Jones use that right arm he's just everybody knows when he's near the ball he thinks it's his every time H lipy is the fullback in for the Cowboys they run it with Davis again and guess who Max Crosby fought through the stiff arm and Nate Hobs cleaned it up well he just makes the tight end Miss I mean that you're just asking for you're just asking for trouble and you put a tight end to try and block Max Crosby you see at the top of the screen he just makes him just does the swim move the arm over and he's in the back field the thing I love about Max Crosby we think so much about the pass rusher he is a complete player at that position he plays the run as well as any defensive end in football third and 10 Raiders bring just four Rush had a clean pocket Jack JNS batted it out of the air it's caught but Robert Spain was right there to make sure that did not get near the markers Jaylen Tolbert caught it off Jason we're talking about Jack Jones as a quarterback you have to be careful when you throw the ball in his Direction he does a great job driving on the ball very aggressive Corner he's going to take some chances and he's extremely dangerous Cowboys very fortunate that this ball went their way that could have been two interceptions and back to he had his first 35 field goals to start his career and a Dallas record 157 points this is a 54 Yer and it is good so one of the best in the game puts the Cowboys on the board Antonio Pierce defense give up one big play and came up with a nice stop with it starters on the field he PPS he takes the Deep shot Tucker is open and he had to wait for it but he came down with it he saw him if he kept him into the corner he might have scored but instead it's a deep ball to Tucker again receiver position yeah Trey Tucker last week hit a 44 yd grab that one goes for 48 a hand off to white with the cut back and he's wrapped up in the back field and brought down Maris Leah fou the rookie the third round pick out of Notre Dame with the tackle for the Cowboys and regardless of who plays quarterback and again no Devonte Adams tonight no Brock Bowers tonight but guard muu can he put this one in he's trying to throw it and he's out of the pocket being chased and it's too far in front of Tucker big time pressure from behind Marshon neelan second round pick out of Western Michigan had the pressure and it'll be third down and nine for muu empty set muu pumps throws well over the head of jacobe Meers and it looks like like he thought it was coming to his outside shoulder it went over his inside shoulder and now the Raiders will kick the field goal they just threw it a little bit early and those are the throws you have to make one of the best of the game to try and not up this preseason game here in Las Vegas and a line drive is home well the 48 yd pass to Trey Tucker set it up and Carlson knocks it through to tie it up at three and they're looking to see who's going to be the the depth in the secondary Roy Freeman Marcus EPS came up to make the tackle Malcolm CZ in there as well Royce Freeman like these safeties I mean they come down with the with a purpose you know they come down to strike you they do a great job in run support the good B you need great pass rushers and cover Corners they're going to run it on Third and forever Royce Freeman's got Roberts Spain bringing him down at the initial line of SC the 25 and so the Cowboys will come out to punt for the first time and again we don't know how long we'll see the defensive starters throughout the game tonight but Antonio getting some experience together you've got some new players communication so important Brian anger the high kick that Tucker waits for a 55 yd Punt and Tucker trying to get the edge flag fly everywhere this is coming back the try Tucker trying to provide some EXC excitement and he does take it out near Midfield on a 28 yd return but there were Gardner mitu got the start tonight after 8 no Connell started last week in Minnesota it's his third drive and he hands it off to Alexander Madison he cuts back over the middle and Falls forward for about four Justin Rogers a rookie work decision making anticipation accuracy two on the roll up nice lead the turn but a solid tackle Andrew Booth he was traded from the Vikings to the Cowboys the day before the game in Minnesota came up to make the stop on DJ Turner yeah Gardner does the right thing here gets the ball in the flat to Turner this is just a good play really a good tackle by the corner by the way I like that Antonio Pierce had the Sharpie in the mouth he looks like Raiders we expect to find out after this game third down for MCH Michael May's got the first down out to the 30 it's a pickup of nine they'll move the [Music] chains I really like Michael may I think he's going to be so much better in year two just look at the patience he starts him outside Works back underneath he's a big Target for Gardner muu good accuracy there second round picked last year out of Notre Dame he missed the last three games end up beating the Jets on Sunday Night Football at the time got the Raiders to five and five and she's got a nice pocket nowhere to go with the football and he bat it down in his face W Thomas came up to knock it opening quarter on third down msho to the outside he threw it low and Tucker went down to grab it first down for the Raiders and Rich Trey Tucker is becoming an integral part of this offense here in the preseason and this is a really good throw by Gardner muu because of the anticipation he gets this thing out early before Trey Tucker is even out of the break and you using the boundary good throw a big story that lasic surgery in the off season said last year was the first time he ever dealt with drops in his career and now to they can see the football set up the screen it's the tight end mayor could not get away from the second Defender so about just one on the screen set up to it's the ball second an officially eight nice hole there for Madison he finds the contact keeps it going and he's right near the marker now a flag did come in late these last couple of preseason games so second and 15 after the penalty mchu escapes the pocket Madison has to go down to make the grab and picks up seven out to the 20 yd line the free agent Sig from the Cleveland Browns in his fifth year out of Florida Atlantic that's what the writers have been looking for they've been looking for someone to the juk just that all pre-season hu taking a deep shot for Tucker and he turned inside the ball was thrown outside it'll be third down again I think Tucker could have helped him there he was late late with his eyes there was a little bit of indecision by the night and they put something special together Cowboys bring a blitz he settles outside and it's incomplete DJ Turner the that's a great coverage that's a great job by the coverage unit Now Rich it was Darius Harris who when the pile broke he came out of there for the Cowboys with the football but sudden changes us should take a shot Dylan lby was in the back field the rookie who's now on the slot and should throws it the other way to one of his tight ends he short gain John Samuel Shanker on can really help you with that getting to play in quick on second down muu again escapes the pocket and he takes off and he scrambles for a nice gain to get inside the 20 yd line he picked up five yds with his leg who receivers in that's Alex Bachman who goes in motion on Third and six mes to short screen yeah they were looking for l but it hit the helmet of Dylan parm the guardal eyes on the takeway by the punt team on Fourth and six settles fir oh Bryant looked like he tripped out of the break and he threw it high four so far the defense has given up 58 yards that's it Tucker waiting for it he's got room he does have room tries the sideline in bounds Tucker he has been electric here in the pre-season and he's got the Raiders set up team plays and that was all he got tonight he watchs Gardner mitu take the first five series and he's coming out throwing over the middle oh the mark to Wilkerson inside the 15 that was a dime over the middle Aiden oconnell really likes play action he does a good job turning down not a weakness on the field for him toss play deir white black got space right chase down from behind buddy Johnson in his second year out of Texas a& in with the tackle but we await the third and long one thing I like about a noon play really well for the Raiders this year and play every game I think that's important playing all 17 that's got to be the number one goal for whoever lines up under Center week one empty set third and 16 okell Wilkerson cannot get past the defender Andrew Boo has been a sure tackler for the Cowboys and they got though inside the ten so he picked settled for way too many kicks in this part of the field was a problem last year as well Carlson hit from 29 he is good from 27 and the Raiders tack on three more in a night where seeing maybe as much strategy when it comes to the return game but NFL certainly wanting more explosive and exciting plays in the kickoff and'll get it there beautifully done by the Raiders on special defense last year Patrick Graham yesterday the Raiders third year defensive coordinator he said look we have to stop the run on first and second down we outop the run first five yd run they go back to Du Pawn he gets out of the initial wave and he picks up another first down it's a big offensive line they got in there you got to be able to come off the D teams got to be able to set the edge Force these runs back up inside play tonight so who are going to be their backups and these are all those guys trying to make a mark That's caught flero in front of Jones R Governor there to stop him immedi at the 36 as well but Trey Lance putting together a nice drive here for the Cowboys find out about this Young quarterback who was a first round pick of the 49ers a couple years ago give it back to dufon spun away from Jaris Robinson and bond picks up the first down you know we're seeing a lot of this 5 foot5 running back in his second year out oh great job here man's got it away and the tight end for the Cowboys picks up the first down W scoon maker gets enough to get in the red zone it was PA who got the pressure on first 10 for trance and the Cowboys the hand off to Roy Freeman maybe picks up a couple Diablo and that's the Jade silvero who's made some nice plays here at the preseason and you know you and I were talking during the break here Rich was depending on it's a Jet Sweep to the receiver he breaks out of a tackle and he Dives out of bounds Jaylen Cropper picks up close to the first down yardage it'll be third down and one third down and one for Trey Lance he brings Freeman back next to him he kept it and Tyree Wilson saw but land got away and he picks up the first down and gets out of bounds that's that's unfortunate because the Raiders were ready for go for the Cowboys as they are going right into the black hole Freeman stopped at the line he turns forward down at the one and Antonio Pierce is on the field he wants a timeout and he gets it timeout Las Vegas their second for it get TR Lance legs such a factor he is going to throw he open receiver Touchdown Dallas the rookie flowering away got behind Jack Jones and the Cowboys going front 9 to six got him on a sideline and he's out of bounds so a nice touch throw to Christian Wilkerson who makes his third catch of the half defense is going to look a lot different you get both those tight ends on the field dump short to the tight end John Stevens who gets out of bounds so excited to see what Brock Bowers can do this year alongside Michael Mayer that's year V's Defense number one in the NFL and points allowed per game Lance gets outside of the pocket and he will go out of bounds after a three- yd gain but seven Lance gets out of the pocket again takes off he's up to Midfield and he slides down with closest to the ball it'll be second down good opportunity to look at some of these young players in the secondary I think the Cowboys going to try and throw those ball a little bit here in the second of action tonight as well at right tackle man with play action on First and 10 wide open middle of the field MCM gets away from one and down to the 17 yd line out out of four and a half to go here in line and I think that's something that the Raiders have to continue to do you always have to be looking at that position not just who the starter is but where are we at down the road empty set here too so somebody you got to watch Trey Lance with his leg legs there it is you're right quarterback draw he got away and he's in the end zone Touchdown Dallas and flags thrown late in the end zone too it's going to be some unsportsmanlike conduct there's been a lot of this right from the beginning of the game Trey Lance has played pretty well tonight he's got a touchdown pass and now one on the ground just watch the center and you just watch him come off the quarterback's going to take a step back draw the rush a little bit play was over and then he takes off taunting offense number 65 that's his first taunting foul towards his qualification regular season game that would tie the NFL record which is Justin Tucker who had a 66- y so the long gain an extra point because of the penalty
