And tonight some new reactions are pouring in after beloved hockey star, Johnny Goodreau died Thursday night. The Columbus Blue Jackets hockey player was with his brother Matthew when they were killed while riding bikes the night before their sister's wedding for the first time. Tonight, we are hearing from their sister. She posted this photo on Instagram calling Johnny and Matthew, the best big brothers a girl could ask for and she said to know them was to love them. Johnny had played for the Blue Jackets since 2022. He was married with two young Children and New Jersey. Police say Johnny and Matthew were both hit by a suspected drunk driver who came up behind them. That driver, 43 year old Sean Higgins told police he drank five or six beers before getting behind the wheel. Higgins is now being held without bond tonight and expected in court again on Thursday. Well, sports anchor, Adam Kane joining us now with the outpouring of love for the good family that continued really throughout the weekend. And Adam to see all those hockey sticks and the Mementos that people are leaving behind just heartbreaking, but also really touching at the same time. Yeah, the memorial still continues to grow outside of nationwide arena and also growing is a gofundme set up for Matthew Gre's wife Madeline. It's a picture that only adds to a devastating day, Matthew and Madeleine announcing they were expecting during that gofundme, the hockey world coming together to raise money for Madeleine now and the baby a starting goal of $30,000 now passing half a million a ton of NHL players donating so many contributing $1321 with Goodreau wearing 13 and Matthew's number being 21. We're still waiting to hear about any possible funeral arrangements for the brothers or memorial services with the blue jackets. We'll continue to keep you updated as we learn more.
