[Music] all right uh the Packers lost to the Philadelphia eag K me Homer Packers lost to the Eagles 3429 we're now joined by Jason Wy take it away Jason that's that's so much better look you're as is off the case with you and you know how much I love you but oh so now he's got to have a qualifier you know how much I love you actually it's called a wiy not a qualifier but that's the truth it's the truth I love the crazy old man now that said you it is the most important thing no I'm not going to disagree with you but there are other aspects to this game that are important now his health is more important than anything else and if you'd have just said that fine a million times is a lot but the point is is that the biggest concern coming out of a game where there were plenty of things to be concerned about offensively defensively uh the kicker did miss a kick which I figured would happen y uh but he kicked it otherwise pretty well um is whether or not Jordan love is is okay and so that certainly is if you were ranking all the things that come out of this that is number one and your hope is is that you know he'll fly back to Green Bay and uh they will do an MRI and they won't find any major structural catastrophic damage in his knee uh those that are on the ground in Brazil informed me that that he he left the locker room without talking to reporters right but he did so under his own power without crutches and without a major noticeable limp so those are all very encouraging things why didn't he talk to reporters I don't I don't well probably Homer because he was probably trying to get treatment right after the game they they he's not they're trying to take a look at and see and access the situation then try to put him in a microphone in front of people yeah you know Rogers suffered that knee injury against uh against Chicago in the opener now he obviously returned to the game um but then he talked afterward even though he needed treatment I'm you know I'm of course Gary gonna come at that from the reporter's perspective of uh you got five minutes and your fan base uh for the team that is paying you $220 million you know wants to know wants to hear what you have to say and wants to hear if you say hey it's it was scary I think we're going to be okay uh but we got to do more tests but uh it was definitely scary when I was laying on the ground rising in pain because he was definitely doing that right and so again we'll see uh what happens when he gets back here to Green Bay and Doc McKenzie and the and the medical staff go through the process not talking is a bad sign um no I don't I don't think I would go that far no not necessarily I would I would prefer did and I think you know if if there's a not saying it's a really bad sign but still a bad sign it's a million times a bad no no it isn't it's not okay but but it's it it I would have liked I think it's valuable to if you have a chance and if you if if this would have been the case and again I don't know but the encouraging signs about the way he left and the fact that he left the field under his own power now again that doesn't prove anything because Jordan Nelson walked off the field under his own power in Pittsburgh and he had torn his ACL so correct we we we'll wait for the results of all the tests but the bottom line is is that beyond the quarterback getting hurt on the final play which which apparently this is the kind of stuff or almost final play apparently this is the kind of stuff that happens when the Packers go somewhere other than the United States to play right because Rogers breaks his thumb in 2022 on the Hail Mary play uh against the Giants in London um but this is you know they didn't have to even be in that position that's the problem here right like there's so many things to look at and and look I I have to be I have to acknowledge that I might be a hypocrite because for all of the times that I talk and I I don't think I'm quite at the point of changing my opinion so I don't think I'm a hypocrite but I have I actually have to at least consider that I might be wrong about this I am still in the better safe than sorry don't take the risk with your best players in games that don't count because you don't want the Jordan Nelson situation to happen to you now I'm talking to an old school bruising running back who God when you were playing what they play 16 uh preseason games no no you were not listening when Gary Ellison went into his uh story when criminals uh then also doctors did something that would put them in jail now in order to make him uh able to play but finish your thought Jason yeah well it's just I I I I don't want to take that risk but I think this proves that when you you know and and look laflor talked about how beneficial it was last year that all their guys played so much on both offense and defense uh in preseason then he said he was going to do it this year but you know I think he's probably like me and he worries about uh guys getting hurt in games that don't count so then they end up with three offensive snaps all preseason and eight defensive snaps I thought their defense was sloppy I I I thought it was even sloppier than their offense I thought you know I thought they got gift turnovers from Jaylen Herz uh I thought their tackling was sloppy uh the way that sequan Barkley was was able to run through them was bad uh and even the one thing that they seem to be doing well which was containing Jaylen Herz as a runner then they stopped being able to do that effectively and and look as if we're going to criticize Joe Barry which we certainly did plenty of um that felt like Joe Barry you know reincarnated when the opposing team gets the ball back with 7 minutes and 52 seconds left on the clock and a twoo lead and they chew up all but 27 seconds of the fourth quarter that remained on this 16 play 67 yard Death March and Jordan Jordan Jordan Jordan love is standing on the sideline just begging for an opportunity to get you know get the ball back and try and go win the game I just I thought for a defense that throttled the offense throughout training camp I was not impressed with the first installment of the uh of the Jeff Halley system I don't necessarily disagree with anything that that you just said but just to Circle back I still think it's one of 17 uh and then you mention uh guys don't play in preseason anymore and it's going to become even more evident when they go to only two games for preseason so guys are not going to be on the field with each other you've got a new safety in Xavier Kenny uh bullet played a whole bunch so he's new Eric Stokes is primarily new he we haven't seen that joker I felt like in three years and so he's pretty much new right and then you start looking at your linebackers and you got a whole new defense Quay Walker what's only been league for a cup of coffee and then you've got uh who's my out of Boston College here uh Jason uh Isaiah McDuffy is MCD they played they played Edan Cooper some no you're right look if I think what we have to say is if if you believe that it's better safe than sorry in the preseason then you also have to believe that it's just one of 17 as Gary just said and and look we have evidence that you can suck in the opener which I didn't think they I didn't think they suck but they certainly didn't play as well as they needed to to win but like 2021 they lose the opener uh 38-3 to the Saints in Jacksonville because of a hurricane and they still have the best record in the NFC they win the division they've got the number one overall seed in the NFC they squandered it by losing to the 49ers at home but it wasn't like losing the opener was any worse than any other loss it just feels worse because it's the first game and there's all the buildup to it the year before that in 2020 I think they got their butts kicked by the Buccaneers in the opener if I remember correctly and then they end up playing in the NFC championship game at home against the Buccaneers I mean it's not a death now for your season if you play poorly in the opener and if you're willing to say look we're going to struggle early in the year I know Homer you and I talked about this on the Homer hour that you know September is kind of spent figuring it out and then you try to get things kind of going in the right direction in October Soh we can't talk about that before the season starts and then once the season starts with a loss suddenly start kind of second guessing ourselves so I'm gonna go I'm not a hypocrite I'm going back to where I was before the game and what was that that I I'm still not risking it with guys we'll work through the struggles early in the season and we'll get it figured out agreed
