ACTIVE SHOOTER COULD BE ANYWHERE! UPDATE ON SHOOTER IN LAUREL COUNTY

he doesn't have a weapon we have to anticipate that it appears to be that that appears to be the case that this was a planned event uh nobody was targeted uh I think a lot of people uh early on again I said earlier that we had so much chaos when we got up there that we were following up on every single thing that we could and and it was earlier reported that uh two cars and two sets of individuals have gotten out and shoot shot at each other and that would be a road rage or or something else that was entirely not correct um we're following the the correct lead now because we already told you that we have identified the vehicle he is now listed as a suspect we've recovered the weapon a weapon let me put it that way um so this this was not targeted I mean yeah did he plan this to be there at that certain time yes correct right correct yes we we don't know that at this time we're we're so early on in the investigation on this and again our major Focus right now is we want to get this guy because he's shot at cars he shows that he's capable and that means he's capable again well we don't have anything to the contrary even though we've had numerous reports uh in two counties or Three Counties now that uh sightings of of this individual we don't believe that they have been correct and we have followed up on every lead that's come in and we want the leads to continue to come in that's what we we would ask the public to do is stay vigilant and keep your eyes open be aware and uh and if you see something suspicious it to us because that's what we do we want to follow up on every single lead and one of the leads hopefully is going to be the right one if he's away from the area we still believe that he is in the area up there or we would not concentrate our efforts there please they just know need to know that uh wow I mean we have so many people that are helping out on this that we're doing everything that is possible to bring this suspect into custody and keep our people safe as well um and and stay away from the area don't drive up through there because we don't know for sure where he's at and we have an idea that we think that we know where he's at but he could be anywhere up in that area and for that matter he could be anywhere uh minor infractions nothing of any significance definitely not nothing like this
