the very first promise in Project 2025 is to restore the family and by that they mean a very particular kind of family as the centerpiece of American life and to protect our children and what they oppose are any policies that really enhance women's economic autonomy and their rights our rights our freedoms and at the extreme it's not just sort of the economic um incentives and penalties that they want to be increasing but it's also that they want to make marriage more legally binding and so we're seeing this renewed um agenda to repeal no fault divorce laws they start off right as you read that wanting to give more authority to the family but but really it's more authority to men in case men don't want that divorce it's not Authority for the family it is Authority for men but even for the Authority for the family like the first decision that a family has is the authority to become a family or not right like and they they don't want that everything they're trying to do is you know decide on what your family should look like and how it should look like and who should be a family and who shouldn't be a family this is the authority of families that they're taking away giving it to government
