we're at the line fire just giving a quick update the Choppers are in full force today there's got to be at least five large Choppers in rotation so there's a lot of air support trying to protect the communities of Running Springs and Big Bear so this particular one has a a bag that they fill up with water now over that little Hill right there there there are three Lakes at the ukpa it's called the ukpa regional park and I imagine that's where they're getting their water from I hear another Chopper overhead just doing a little Chopper spotting today in a quick update and just as one goes in another one comes out so they are hitting this fire hard to really save big bear so last night it was save Menton and save yukpa but it looks like uh Menton and yukpa are safe for the time Bean I'm in Palm Desert just picked up here oh the wind yeah it's the wind died down it was windier earlier but that's pretty typical usually towards the uh late afternoon the wind dies down I've never seen so but there's a fairly large home right there so there's several homes on that bluff but so far they I think they're okay when are they going to get air conditioning for the UPS drivers that's what I really want to know now back back in the distance you could see the smoke from the uh I guess there's a fire in the San Gabriel area so we're east of Los Angeles uh straight ahead about 60 Mi or so 60 70 mil you'll get to La and so yeah those aren't clouds that's that's smoke from a different [Applause] fire and I'm there's another Chopper coming I'm pretty sure all that smoke right there is coming from that Direction coming this way that's from a different fire so there are three that might be from the Orange County fire so there are three major fires going on right now all in about a 60 70 M radius so they're going to the lake to get a refill and another one's headed to the fire wow they're they're really they're really doing a good job protecting Big Bear and Running Springs there's another one I lost count but my guess is there's five maybe six Choppers in rotation right now and luckily there's a nearby water source in those Lakes so they don't have to uh drain swimming pool you don't want that if you're just joining this is a quick update stream and I saw some Choppers I I wasn't going to go live I figured it's something interesting you don't see Choppers flying by but as often it's not an everyday occurrence but uh I mainly doing a quick stream for anyone local in the aypa OR Mone area that's concerned where the fire is headed and um no smoke towards menone so I guess that one got snuffed out there's a little hot spot right there headed towards Uka but uh you know the fire would have to go down the hill cross the highway and if that Hill catches on fire then that's mountain and across Highway 38 there's a road going through there and a wash so if it gets windy and the fire jumps over there then uh it's going to be in upper ukpa and the north the north bench is what they call it it's a some type of big Earth moving machine I did see the National Guard vehicle it had a huge machine gun on the top and uh maybe it's to uh deter the looters or to take care to take care of the looters but yeah I mean any resources are definitely welcome machine guns are not one two three yeah I'm counting four or five helicopters again it just seems it's an illusion that it seems like a lot because they're just going back and forth so frequently and last I check the fire has not reached Big Bear yet but uh they're trying to prevent that from happening it was windy earlier but the wind died down and there's a chopper kind of hovering over that Hill way back there and they disappeared all right I can't stay live much longer so I want to see if I can get to that the wind isn't blowing any of the smoke in this Direction all right last shot then I'm going to try to go uh get access to the lake I don't think it's going to happen but I'll give it a shot before I end the stream so I do have to be somewhere right after this wonder what that would feel like if it was dropped on a human what's that 2600 gallons there's a fire truck that's from Redlands by the way all right so this is where I'll be heading in a minute look check this out they're going to dip down right over that Hill there's three little Lakes and there's like a 99% chance that I'm not going to get in but we'll hey it won't hurt to try it won't hurt to try or the alternative is I could climb that little Hill right there but I don't think I'll make it this crap so dry it's going to be a course is try to get uh some footage of the helicopter scooping up water in the lake but I'm I'm assuming they closed they closed the park cuz they don't want people in there with all that helicopter activity but you never know and uh I don't have time time today but if there's a way I could easily somehow get to a spot where you can just view the lake from up above I I don't know if that's possible but I look get it bonfire at Mone Beach last night was the best chance for that but Mento and safe now the beach is going to stay a beach to the left of me is What's called the north bench it's a like a upscale community in this city in yo so let's hope let's hope the Fire doesn't get there there's a street sweeper Med I just saw a banner promoting uh there's some American flag flag from the a reservoir in Yuka and that's what I'm trying to locate so I could get some interesting shots also if you're just joining Mentone looks like they saved Mentone there's no smoke anywhere near Mone right now and there's still a 90 95.8% chance that they block the road towards the reservoir but there's only one way of finding out where are all these car trucks going never seen it so busy back down street but if you go under this this little fence you could just go into the trail right there see right there at the very bottom yeah see where their their black fence meets up yeah right
