well Cubs lost a game that Kyle Hendricks pissed in but it wasn't Kyle Hendrick's fault I mean the offense is just Glacier cold at the absolute wrong time we G to talk about the Cubs and their Wild Card hopes right after the intro to the number one place for all Chicago baseball let's start the show well good morning good morning Chicago Baseball fans welcome to another episode of Chicago cuup Central it's your boy big brosi in the building and hey y'all saw me yesterday KY Hendricks I didn't not want him to to pitch for the season but with Justin Ste still gone they put him out there um and it just wasn't he he actually did all right he was actually pretty solid um it just wasn't it wasn't his fault that the Cubs lost yesterday it was not his fault uh they just went ice cold offensively they had opportunities in the first second and third Innings and uh and after that it was just curtains so Hendricks f a 3 and 11 with a 6.60 erra but he had a pretty solid outing I'm not even going to cap on my my man's right I mean I kind of said that he was gonna be okay he did turn back the clock uh five innings pitched five hits two earned runs one walk five strikeouts can't ask for more uh Paul skin was five innings pitch four hits zero earned runs six strikeouts for him and the bull pin once again failed to uh to to to do anything as well gave up a three-run shot in the seventh inning there you Havoc Cubs got shut out five to nothing but the real question is where's the offense this offense that put up a hundred runs in a week and a half or something like that like they they definitely had a super hot stretch to end the month of August but when you need them right now at home cuz they a lot of their damage on the road scoring a lot of points on the road um now you're at home and you're failing to produce you're failing to produce and right now they've lost the Series uh versus the the Pirates which is something they needed not to do uh they've scored three runs in two games and uh later today they're going to have to go out there and get a win because the yanies are on the horizon and sort of Dodgers and those guys do not care what the Cubs are playing for uh they just don't care now you got Shen manag on the mound tonight so that's going to be um you know the Cubs have a chance to win this game but if the offense doesn't show up again they going to three game winning losing streak and put themselves five or so games back in the Wild Card race with about about 20 games to go it's going to be tough it's going to be tough uh to to overcome the Mets and the Braves who both won last night so Cubs fail to keep pace um and it's not good it's not good uh the offense has to show up we need Craig timber timber Council Timber whatever they want to call it to start to work its magic because uh man it's just not looking good uh I want to see the Cubs keep the momentum going offensively and so far these last couple of games it just hasn't looked good but they still got a chance they still got a chance they're four and a half games behind uh the last uh the last wild card spot so if they want to get it they're going to have to play baseball they got to hit the ball they had the bases loaded twice yesterday The Bases Loaded twice and just didn't get it done 18 out of the last 19 back batters uh didn't even get a hit um Ian hap got a one out single and in in that 18 out of the last 19 but pretty much that was it even the bull pin uh took care of business versus the Cubs and my man PCA with all the hype around him and rightfully so love the kid four strikeouts four strikeouts uh with runners in scoring position the Cubs did not do enough um had they scored on them Bas basis loaded situations you might have seen a different outcome but not doing much past the third inning all the way to the end of the game is just not going to cut it so today they got to bring their aame especially with Imago and the mound who the Cubs have left several wins on the on the field for him this season he should at least have 16 17 wins but um that's just how baseball goes sometimes your team they just don't pick you up when they need to um that they're not helping their right now after having a very very strong end to the month of August they started the month of August in a similar fashion losing three straight to um losing three straight to the Cleveland Guardians which kind of put them behind the a ball and then they they followed that up by winning pretty much every SE series at the end uh to end the month and here they are to start this month on a two game loser streak to the Pirates they gotta win tonight they have to and they gotta hope that both the Mets and Atlanta lose because otherwise it's going to be it's going to be tough you don't want to find yourself five and six games out with 20 games to go um that's it man like I I'm disappointed in what I saw last night um that's just the reality of it all um you wasted a a great outing from a pitcher who hasn't pitched well all season he went out there and gave his all so shout out to him cuz he was really the only highlight of the game with the five strikeouts um even with SCH walking batters they could not take advantage of it they couldn't take advantage of it and then you had um Tyson Miller come in for the for the for the second time in three games and just not do well so uh Jorge in the first game gives up a bad home run to give up the lead and Tyson Miller gives up a bad home run to take the Cubs out of contention even though the offense didn't do anything anyway but you know being down only two runs to try to rally is different from being down five to nothing you can't win them all but you at least want to win the series um another shut out this this this season as well that's shutouts so far uh this year you can't have that you can't be getting shut out when you're chasing teams in front of you for the playoffs like getting shut out at this point of the season is not good not a good thing um it's not all doom and gloom the Cubs still have a chance unlike my boys on the South Side these Ms like just if you're a baseball fan you've seen this by now even if you're not a baseball fan you've seen this right by now cuz things tend to go viral where a routine pop fly to left field three Chicago white sock players converge and crash into each other which led to a run some runs being scored by the team they're facing I think it's the Orioles they're playing against and uh the the commentator said the white socks just went full white socks that's just how bad it's been on the outside so at least Cubs fans don't have to worry about things like that happening three players running into each other to let a ball fall right in front of him it's just the culmination of the white sock season ever since Tim Anderson got knocked out last year the white socks have not been the same not to say that they were good at that point even but at least they had more than 30 wins uh this team is they still got another chance to break the alltime loss record they're on their third losing third double digit losing streak all the numbers everybody knows but at least the Cubs haven't haven't given up on their season uh even though they didn't show up last night offensively I think the one game at a time mentality for for the team and for the fans has to be in play here so let's start another win streak Cubs you got it you got it in you hopefully Justin steel will be back um the the elbow sword is hasn't really there hasn't been really any updates Craig Council said yesterday that they they're not going to put him on the IR uh right now at least uh they're going to try to see how it looks um in a couple of days but in the meantime the offense has to show up they got to show up you can't striking out with the bases loaded um you know grounding into Force outs with the bases loaded those things can't happen but you you're going against a a world class pitcher and scheme so I didn't expect the offense to do much but I didn't expect them to do nothing I didn't expect them to do nothing so uh two two game losing streak after a six I think it was a six seven game six game winning streak got to do better Cubs got to do better got to finish strong and you you definitely have to do something that's almost impossible you got to go sweep the Yankees and you need the Mets in and in the Braves to lose so it is what it is at this point let's see what the Cubs can do tonight y'all already know what it is uh
