college football season getting underway week zero as it's called being held in Dublin Ireland right now and ESPN's Desmond Howard joins us from there helping to host game day's First International show Desmond top of the morning to you yeah top of the morning to you guys too I tell you what man this Dublin crowd is a real Vibe look at these people behind me look at these people five like in duin yeah tell tell us about this because this is the first ever trip for college game day outside the US describe the excitement the energy what's new here in Dublin man you guys see it you hear it you can feel it if you were here it's incredible you know one thing I didn't know last yesterday I had conversations with the media and they told me it said when when the feed went out to get like the college football games people weren't upset about that they were upset that they could not get college game day so not only are they college football fans but they love college game day here so it's been a tremendous um experience for me and for our whole crew out here in Dublin yeah well it's not just the fans who are excited we are excited about your excitement there in Dublin Desmond lots of anticipation for this college football season it starts today again but what are some of the the new things in the sport that we should know about well you know you have nil you have the transfer portal but the biggest the biggest issue the biggest new new thing is the 12 team playoff format before it was just four teams but now they extended it to 12 teams so you're going to have the first four seeds they get a buy they don't have to play the first week and then the next four seeds they get to actually host a home playoff game which I think is tremendous so it's going to be a wide openen uh cfp at the end of the year so excited about this the 12 team playoff format coming your way and it is starting today so let's get to that matchup today number 10 Florida State versus Georgia Tech at noon Eastern on ESPN the fans there are clearly fired up but what should everyone be looking out for on this one well one thing you should be looking out for is obviously the seminal You Know the Way the season ended they were undefeated um conference Champs but they did not get in the cfp their coach Mike Noel they have turned the chapter so to speak you know they've turned the page I think they've hit the reset button and now they have a quarterback DJ OU angal he came in from Oregon State he's going to be the SOS quarterback they're going to come out here with a chip on their shoulder and they want to make a statement so watch out for Florida State Georgia Tech but Brent key the yellow jackets those guys are not a pushover they're going to be a formidable opponent this going to be a classic ACC Big Time matchup between Georgia Tech and Florida State today well if the crowd is anything like you got behind you there it's going to be an excellent game and the excitement the energy and everything Desmond as always we appreciate it of course you can catch the college game day team live from Dublin Ireland starting at 9:00 a.m. eastern over on ESPN
