Can We Build It?? - Fix This Old Maine House - Abandoned House in Northern Maine

right now it is August August 12th August 12th August 12th and this is our kitchen current status of our kitchen what our goal right now is to make all of this have big pieces yeah of wood so we can walk and so it's not like we're Frogger right and we don't have to think about walking you just walk and then up here is uh the upstairs and we're going to to build a temporary staircase yes just so we can get upstairs and address that so we have like a getaway a place of sleep right now we're down here amongst the mess so we're going to finish it up there first and then we're going to uh build a uh the the regular staircases well we're going to build it from from here up to a platform and then I'm going to get measurement uh and because where I work at a a building supply company I'm just going to order risers that'll that'll fill in the Gap because it's as cheap and it's easier but this is just going to be the temporary one just so we can get up and down easier than a ladder right right and then you also had a good point because I was like let's start in on the kitchen but you said no we need to work up on top because then we're going to just knock down uh dirt if we finished you know here it's just better to start at the top and work our way down well yeah because we all know that kitchens and bathrooms um we do have a tub and a toilet which is important but those are those are time consuming those are they not just you know putting up walls there's appliances and stuff so it's a little more involved um yeah so that's our plan so right now I'll show you in a matter of seconds how quickly we fix this floor all right through the uh Power of Television here is the whole floor look we're not playing Frogger anymore I can walk around here with my eyes closed kind of it's all completely one solid piece a little overlapping but much safer Jimmy's going to cut a little piece here Mine The Gap so the dogs don't fall through it's not that deep like the the basement's just right there you you're not going to fall to your death you're just going to fall and be embarrassed okay hi everybody okay get that perfect you hey did pretty good got the floor and half of the ladder it's just getting dark so yeah it's getting dark but yeah we don't have and here it is all finished we finished it the next morning and it went much faster because we had already the hardest part was starting and getting in the Rhythm it's not perfect but it does hold our weight it holds the weight of uh products going up we carried you can see the blue marks uh we carried paneling uh flooring sorry uh 30 sheets of flooring upstairs to start fresh upstairs and it handled it like a charm uh got rubbed and broken in looks more uh like we've uh used it quite a bit and we have over the past couple days and like Jimmy said this is just a temporary fixture but it's safer than a ladder and the final product will be of course much prettier and it was nice because the opening up here was big just big enough to carry this kind of flooring that's what I'm talking about these big rectangle pieces we carried 30 pieces of those upstairs and uh the ladder worked out great I hope you enjoyed this quick little video on our kitchen floor and the ladder it was a quick video because I filmed it on my phone and I'm trying to just film all the renovations on my what I call my fancy camera to just to keep them all in one place and not fill up my phone footage with footage of the house and I had just pulled out my phone and started filming the floor and I thought well I'll just film a little bit more to make a short little extra video for you on how we made our ladder I hope you enjoyed this video thank you so much for watching take care and I'll see you
