[Music] 22 years ago the electronic group crazy P released their second album The Wicked is music celebrated as one of the standout Funk albums of the 2000s it was notable for its 7-minute opening track there's a better place which sampled Jean Wilder's Pure Imagination and set the stage for the band's future originally a Duo formed by Chris Todd and Jim Baron in the 1990s at Nottingham University crazy P expanded with the addition of vocalist Danielle Moore basist Tim Davies and percussionist MAV Kendricks for their 2002 followup to their debut album a nice hot bath with Moore who had been a regular at the Henda in Manchester during her teenage years brought a fresh Dynamic to the group which was initially called crazy penis Moore's impact was immediately evident as she appeared prominently on the cover of the band's second album photographed by Simon King outside the Apollo music venue released by Manchester's paper recordings the album cover also featured the band's original name to ensure it wasn't overlooked today crazy p is known for hits like like a fool Heartbreaker and cruel mistress and has performed performed at Major music festivals worldwide they recently played at glastenbury and had additional tour dates including a Bristol show scheduled for last weekend today the band announced that Moore had passed away on Friday August 31st at the age of 52 while details about her death were not disclosed the band described it as occurring under sudden and tragic circumstances and expressed their Devastation over the loss indicating they would need time to come to terms with it following the announcement tributes from the music Community began to flow celebrating Moore's influence and her extensive discography which included eight albums with the band the most recent being from 2019 among those paying tribute was faithless is Sister Bliss who shared her shock and sadness over Moore's passing and reflected on their shared experiences Moore had previously spoken about how supporting faithless on their 2005 and 2006 stadium tour had been a pivotal moment for the group highlighting the transition from small venues to large audiences Moore who had resided in Todd Moran West Yorkshire in recent Years also reflected on how her experiences at the hasienda shaped her approach to Performance and fashion she noted that joining crazy P led her to embrace a more e lectic and glamorous style a departure from her previous preference for casual secondhand clothing earlier this year crazy P supported Roy scen Murphy on her UK tour Murphy paid tribute to Moore describing her as a brilliant singer performer and songwriter whose passing leaves a significant void in the music Community other tributes came from the house gospel choir and JD twitch of optimo who expressed their sorrow and admiration for more acknowledging her as a remarkable and beautiful person [Music]
