Game-by-game predictions: Iowa State 2019

Intro [Music] hello and welcome to July where we are doing Barton makes pix this is tre Scott I'm Barton Simmons we're going team my team game my game week by week picking the season deciding the future your team and today tre we're doing Iowa State's the Cyclones yeah one of my favorite teams in college football yeah the old underdog in the big 12 not any longer turn the corner a little bit under Matt Campbell lost to big time prospects too big time talents to the NFL Draft and Hakeem Butler and David Montgomery but they didn't lose Matt Campbell to Ohio State which is what everyone was worried about last fall so I think they'll take that yeah they also got a quarterback back yeah Brock Purdy so let's get it going all right all right here we go so Trey you ready to tally this up all right let's do it week one Northern Iowa win that's not Northern Iowa always a win but now it is the new era of cyclones oh yeah and then quick buy you know yeah take a little rest breather but you get a chance to prep for Iowa which is obviously a big rivalry game and I was a really good team this year and I think that's a really big game even though it's non-conference game I'm given the W do you why is it Brock Hardy head to Nate Stanley yeah hey you're gonna have to show nothing getting into that game you get a get a a week to prepare and you've got an all self summer to prepare yeah but I also think yeah Brock Purdy Nate's family strikes me and I would if I had said this before the season last year I'd have been shocked but after last season that seems like a quarterback advantage there yeah so we'll go we'll go with the win there to get it rolling - OH ul Monro three and nothing thank you yep and now you got Baylor at Baylor it's on Baylor the roads to me I think rule is done an outstanding job at Baylor and they're gonna be improved another good quarterback you're playing against but I think this Iowa State team is ready to turn the corner this is the type of game they need to win so give them the W so now they're for know they TCU played TCU barely lost to the Horned Frogs last year yeah and again because this team is starting to sort of now they look they did lose to big-time players but they have def now they've got guys that are competing for roster spots they've got recruiting classes that are coming of age I think because of the quarterback play because of the depth because the roster they're building because Matt Campbell is a great coach I think they're ready for these kind of games I think they win against TCU five and now at was five ago starts pretty rare sorry yeah five and Oh we'll get to hey guys yes yeah I said are you okay at West Virginia I don't have a lot of faith in this West Virginia team and you're one under Neal Brown I'm gonna give them the W there as well at Texas Tech love books always a tough place to play we know that but this is a better team than Texas Tech seven and OH can an Iowa State fan out there fact-check would this be their best start ever I think so we're not done yet brother Oh Oklahoma State at home so much energy Oklahoma State around the program right now what do we ranked like not like yeah I mean this is gonna be one of the storylines of college football but they're sitting here with a chance to go into the bye week with an undefeated record I think they beat Oklahoma State as well eight and oh so now we got eight know with at Oklahoma Oklahoma Texas Kansas at Kansas State down the homestretch and at Oklahoma perhaps an Oklahoma undefeated team they beat Oklahoma two years ago in Norman this is this is I mean maybe two last year did they not know they lost they lost but that's one of the closer games with yeah so so challenged Oklahoma like not many people did last year I think that they lose this one okay I'm gonna say but I mean look that was a college gameday that's the conveyor that's two top ten teams more than likely when you're still you know playing for a big 12 championship berth here yeah yeah and so if you win this one yeah this is the big one so obviously Oklahoma we can excuse gotta go be Texas I don't need I think coming off that oh you lost I think Texas gets him here nipson so what do we get we're at eight and two eight I think it a lot of Iowa State fans would be surprised though because it's in Ames Texas does not want to go to Ames in November look hey Tom Herman is no slouch either he's have this team ready in the back half of the season I think that's a game that o Texas can get and they got Kansas and at Kansas State to close things out I think they beat Kansas the Kansas State is gonna be a tricky one I believe in Chris Klieman that hires is a good one but I think they win that to get to ten and to got to take that right they'll take it you're not playing for a big 12 title it tending to but oh my goodness that's the best season ever [Music]
