ladies and gentlemen welcome back your lovely phaser to a brand new video here on the channel well this this kind of caught me out of left field because not a lot of places are actually talking about it and I think as well with somethingone like this it should actually be talked about on the bigger scale just because of what it is and what that is is this we are getting a sequel to The Goonies of all things you know The Goonies is like home alone is the quintessential kids movie of the '90s and obviously the 2000s was the Harry Potter films The Goonies in the80s so it was Gremlins The Goonies I think these were the quintessential films for kids going into teenag years or whatever everyone loves The Goonies as you can see by here 80s Blockbuster film set for sequel with the original cast 40 years later now with that there I do have a few not issues but a bit like really because out of these obviously some of them have sadly what happened to Cory Feldman obviously that is a huge thing but also you know the guy who played Chunk is now a lawyer you know it's there's so many things going on but a classic 1980s film was reportedly set for a sequel of a 40 years after its release and with stars from the original cast set to return now another thing as well Josh broland he's one of the most in demand actors at this time and if they get him obviously Sean Austin he's going to be there obviously you are going to get kiuk Kuan as well these are going to be absolutely amazing to see but again as you can see The Goonies is a hugely popular film for its time filled with Nostalgia for its fans thanks to its storyline that sees a group of kids hanging around in an neighborhood discover a treasure map sparking a grand adventure and it is an amazing film still to this dat now according to a source a green light has been given to proceed with a sequel which could start shooting as early as next summer with an aim to hit Cinemas by 2026 or 2027 now in those two years you do have Avengers five and six you know it's it's going to be huge because if I was a film I wouldn't really if I was a huge film like The Goonies if it's going to be a sequel to The Goonies I wouldn't want to come out around anytime that they do because again you're just going to lose but it is The Goonies Nostalgia and I think it will make if it does come out that is a lot of money and it will be a big hit if they get it right in 1985 the original was written by Harry Potter and Home Alone director Chris Columbus yeah one of his first directed by Richard Donna and produced by Steven Spielberg just those three names alone you know obviously Steven Spielberg classed as one of if not the greatest director ever obviously Richard Donna you know rip to that dude he's the one who made all Lethal Weapon films but he also made Superman 1 he also made the omen conspiracy theory assassins there's just so many films that guy made Maverick one of my favorite films and it's literally just about card playing is so good had a host a young Talent as well who went on to big roles in their adult careers Sean Austin Josh Brolin and Oscar and KIU Kuan all of whom could be see a return to their roles the Goon reboot has been talked about for a long time which it has every single month or every other month there's always a fake f Facebook post oh my God this is happening that's been going on for the last 10 years and and it goes on to say obviously that it's finally been given a green light to go ahead and Insider revealed according to the sun when the sun comes out with things it's like yeah I don't really think so apparently the plan is to start developing the ideas for the follow-up next summer with a possible release date of 2026 2027 so with that one there again that's that's not how it works with them saying oh they're going to start developing the ideas for the followup next year Well you start developing it now so you can start filming within a year so you get everything done all the contracts and everything else going forward cuz for Josh Brolin we don't know if he's going to appear in the Marvel films you know we have no idea he's going to appear in five and six but obviously the original is so culturally significant Warner Brothers knows they have to get it totally right yeah it's also described as likely major Stars will come back while the possibilities of where to go with the sequel in terms of the story are endless they are because it's it's going to be interesting to see how they do it you know or their kids going to be uh finding a treasure map or something the production team behind the supposed sequel is also said to be excited at the chance to bring the magic of the film to a whole new audience in the original which grossed 125 million dollar worldwide in a budget of just 19 million it's Central kids live in the goom doed neighborhood of atoria Oregon while on a mission to save their homes from the threat of foreclosure they discover no map in the Arctica under the houses yet and obviously you got sloth there as well one of the greatest characters ever it leads him on an adventure to unearth a long lost Fortune of legendary 17th century pirate oneeyed Willie but they also have criminals in Pursuit who want the treasure for themselves yeah to me it's one of the best kids films ever the cast includes Austin as Mikey leader of The Goonies Brolin as his older brother and Cory Feldman as mouth Quan played everyone's favorite geek data or data whatever you want to call him while Jeff Cohen was Lawrence chunk Cohen yeah see you know it's so good Martha K and and also fature a former NFL star Jonah sloth the gendle Giant and disfigured son of the criminal fatelli family many of The Originals cast who reunited for the 35th Anniversary are still acting adding further popular credits to the CVS yeah Sean Austin man he's done Lord of the Rings he did the TV series 24 he did stranger things this guy has just kept going forward with great roles as you can see there for you is S boys and obviously you couldn't forget uh Josh Brolin you know the sakario movies the Marvel movies again as says but they June part one and part two the guy is absolutely amazing but you know atin went on to appear on Sam in the award winning Lord of the Rings trilogy and he started with supporting RS and Adam Sandler and Drew Barry Mo's romcom 51st dates and obviously started as Bob in stranger things again saying about um broland Cas in Marvel No Country for all men and Denise V wner excuse me is adaptation of Dune and as we all know in 2023 last year he was he won the best supporting actor for his best role in so many years and the thing is as well this was his first acting career gig since being a kid that's how good the film is and how good he is and obviously he says by there about Indiana Jones cuz yeah he was in the Indiana Jones which was absolutely amazing a Short Round And you gone by there with good friend of former Goonies Jeff Cohen who who played Chunk it's absolutely nuts and obviously I was saying Cory Feldman he obviously in the 80s onee just went forward the Lost Boys And there just so many other cool things he did the voice of Donell in the Turtles movie 1 and three but obviously some bad things have happened to him and recently does seem to be that he seems to be on a bit of like a downward spiral but I do hope that he's able to get through it you know and it says obviously the guy who uh the guy who played Sloth he died in 1989 of an accidental overdose and obviously everyone now is reaching out to Warner Brothers for a comment yeah so it's going to be interesting to see if they can actually do this because I would be there first day front row well middle row and I'm going to be like yes The Goonies The Goonies you know it it's just absolutely crazy that all these films now that are coming out I say I'm 38 and the films that are coming out around this time in the last couple of years as well with all the Nostalgia is people who like me have grown up and we grew up on all of this stuff and this is what we making sequels to and some of them are even better than the originals you know and and again before when they tried making sequels and everything else they just did it as a cash grab which you can see in the '90s it was full of it last couple of well last two decades they tried making horror remakes which some hit some were amazing but some of them were absolute just piles of dog poop you know but with this I really do hope that they're able to nail down the story before anything and be like right this is it everyone is going to love this not just the people who grew up on The Goonies but the new generation that's what I
