hey what's going on everyone welcome back to the channel it's that time of week again everybody's favorite segment the power rankings now guys this weekend has been crazy not alone a lot of weekends have been crazy the top 12 on this board pretty much everyone's going to have their own opinion on what's going on it's pretty crazy it's really tight at the 12 the bottom row staying the same etc etc San Francisco Oakland going to the 10th San Fran took a couple run the lead so I thought it's probably safe to get started of course I always do the these videos before this Sunday night game New York Yankees and Detroit playing their rubber match tonight so it's going to have a little bit of an impact on the board as per usual and if you guys missed it I did do a playoff prediction video earlier this week and it's been popping off a lot of comments a lot of excitement a lot of controversy in the comment section so if you haven't seen that one check it out and let me know what you guys think otherwise guys I think we're just going to jump right into it but as per usual I'm just going to ask you right at the beginning here if you are not a subscriber hit that subscribe button 1,500 that's what our goal by the end of the season we're about 250 away I think we can do it these videos have been doing pretty well it's been a lot of Engagement I'm super excited with that and really guys your subscribers and all that fun stuff keeps me motivated keeps me excited and I'm going to keep po pouring this stuff out otherwise but still fun right um but yeah number 30 pretty much the same I don't know if I really need to say much about them the Chicago White Socks I guess the one story is they did have a pretty tough week they had the the Yankees in Houston and they won two games so that's pretty something to be excited about if you're a white socks fan I guess but we're not going to start throwing a parade we're not going to move them up the board because they beat two top teams really those teams probably taken them a little bit light in situations they put up a ton of runs in the one win against the Yankees and they only beat Houston by one run so we're not going to get too much ahead of ourselves but there is a little bit of the shake up in this bottom row which is not per usual and it hasn't started yet I still have Colorado in the number 29 spot even though they did win the series against the Padres over the weekend two games to one they got swept by Arizona so overall only two and four in their division and as we know this division is probably the maybe the best in baseball you could say arguably the four teams other than the Rockies were all competing for that playoff spot you can make Arguments for other divisions but I'm not going to get into that right now Colorado not too much to say they are staying in that spot the one team that has dropped a few spots now I do have the LA Angels just they had moments where they were fighting most teams pretty well but this week was pretty much a sign of I think their season is over they're really packing it in and might trout Captain extraordinaire all that fun stuff isn't playing the rest of the year so I don't know what they're really doing if you're an angels fan I'm curious what you think of the state of this team are they even really watchable they got swept by the Blue Jays and considering the Blue Jays have been tough to watch at times that's not great and then one and two against a struggling Atlanta team maybe they're the team that most people can boost and get some wins off it does bold well for the teams in the AL West Seattle and Houston who will be playing these guys down the stretch and will want some wins but right now I do think the angels are falling the Roy down Colorado might be on their heels I haven't said that much moving up one spot I have the Miami Marlins and they're starting to be a little competitive in situations on the pitching side of things for sure there used to be that team every week I joke I was going through those block scores every week they would have at least one game that they would get shut out seems like there's been a little bit of a reversal over the past month there's been almost every week that they are shutting up the other team so a little bit of excitement there of course they're in that rebuild stage they did trade off of bunch of their guys and they were already rebuilding so now they get even more rebuilding assets a little bit of excitement I think I'm curious how they're going to play in the next year this is one team out of so far what we talked about who I think is capable of making the biggest jump on the board moving into next year number 26 and they fell a few spots and realistically I think it's just been a long season for a young team and a team that can't keep momentum going one way or another when I kind of match them up against the Marlins I do start to think that they are somewhat similar teams and I am curious if the Marlins are going to end up being the better team by the end of the season Washington goes one and one against Baltimore gets kind of beat down and avoids the four game sweep against Philly this weekend so they only win one out of four and really they're like the rest of these teams playing out to the end of the season they're going to get a chance to see some of their young guys they also have some of these pitchers in their lineup they're pretty much playing at the rest of their MLB career so do you really expect a lot more from Washington but in the end of the days I do think when they match up against any team ahead of them they're not really winning more games than they're losing next up Toronto I'm keeping them in the bottom row they pick up a big sweep against LA but it feels feel like Toronto's really playing without any pressure and they've been playing with pressure for the past number of years so little bit of leeway I think with a lot of the young guys on this team getting their first chance in the MLB you see a couple guys in the rotation as well Rodriguez and Francis getting their first real shot probably playing for that sixth possibly seventh arm in the rotation next year guys playing to see again a look so there is a little bit of that kind of momentum on the Jays team whereas most of these other teams I think have already had that kind of caliber of a season going in for a lot longer than the Blue Jays so we're going to see them play spoiler they're going to obviously play a lot of the AL e coming up and all of those teams ahead of them technically probably have a pretty good spot in the playoff race Tampa Bay maybe a little bit farther than most but at the same time Jay's going to be playing spoiler down the stretch with a bunch of young guys next up moving them out of the bottom row they just seem to be playing pretty solid baseball they had a chance really in the bottom of the ninth to sweep the Giants this weekend it's a two- game set they won the first one I thought they were going to Pro probably win the second one but they did kind of fall short unless they had a massive 10th inning comeback I don't know but I don't think it makes a difference at the end of the day I moved them out of the bottom row which is a big step forward for the A's do they deserve to keep on moving up probably not two in one against the Mets earlier in the week so they're playing two 500 teams that are in Do or Die mode for their own playoff so they're playing complete spoiler they're kind of in an opportunity where their guys can get some chances to play meaningful baseball even though for the team itself it's not meaningful they're going to be playing a opponents that the games mean a lot so they can play spoiler I think when you have a chance to play spoiler as a team that's out of the playoffs it does allow you to play some of your Better Baseball and when A's get that chance I do think they are a somewhat competitive team number 23 and I really debated moving the A's up above them but I got to give a little bit more credit to the xor Series champs it's just not been their year and it feels like at this point the wheels have just completely fallen off 1 and three against minnes they almost got swept and they just had a barely had a comeback today to avoid the four game sweep against Minnesota they lose two games out of three to Boston again another situation where they're given up a lot of runs and they had the one game where they scored a lot of runs themselves and managed to pick up the W but they're not winning series and that's pretty much been the story for Texas all season long we might have an argument coming forward these guys are going to match up a couple of times down the stretch here if the A's can really take it to Texas I will have no other choice but the kind of to think that the A's have made that game number 22 I want to say that the fire is out but they did get blown up again today they did avoid their massive losing streak after getting swept early in the week to the Padres I think they had lost 10 maybe 11 in a row I can't quite remember but they did beat Seattle the first two games of the weekend going for a sweep today they kind of went back to their old ways so Pirates while you would think in looking at the standings that they do have a playoff spot a playoff chance not a spot um and we're going to talk about that going forward all these teams technically have playoff aspirations playoff chances but as you fall further down this list you have way more teams to fall to jump over to jump over and right now I don't think the Pirates especially after seeing that 10 game losing streak have what it takes to go on the kind of win streak to move up this board and I think when you match them up against all these other teams they're kind of just on the outside looking in 21 Detroit playing spoiler and having a pretty good week 3- 0 against Seattle I think someone said in the comments on my playoff video that Detroit went 5-1 maybe 6 and one against Seattle over the past couple of weeks which just goes to show that they are playing spoiler one in one against the Yankees that some of their young guys getting a chance as well and but they are out of it really they're kind of in the same situation they're just so many games back well you're looking at it like Pittsburgh they just have too many teams to have the one thing difference I think Detroit is in a tougher division they're playing Cleveland they're playing Royals they're playing the twins a lot more often I think Pittsburgh does benefit from that so the records well being the same I do think Detroit is the better team number 20 not really moving up anywhere and we're going to get into a lot of NL Central teams here because a lot of them really can be interchangeable like the lineups are pretty inconsistent they have one or two guys that are having pretty good Seasons they have one or two guys in their rotation they were having pretty good Seasons but it's just the lack of depth which is starting to catch up to them in this long season really speaks to the Cubs as well they started off so well and it just kind of fell apart 0 and3 against Cleveland Guardians not really a series or a team that they've matched up super well with and it feels like that over the past couple of years Cleveland just seems to kind of get the better of them that's as an outsider who doesn't pay close attention to that matchup that's just how it feels and then they play the Jays this week and a team that I've labeled in the bottom row a team that in my opinion is a little bit further behind in the rebuild situation than the Cubs would be uh they win that series and they lose today one- nothing but they matched up very well du with that Jay's Team all the games ended with one run differential could have went either way uh so the CBS aren't really going to move up the board because I think all the teams ahead of them are just strictly better number 19 I dropped these guys quite a few spots and realistically if you start looking at them matching up with this next row we're going to talk about in a minute the record overall is probably better but when we start looking in the deeper analytics especially when you're looking at the offense just has not performed and it showed really at the front this week when they went 1 and three against Atlanta that was a pretty dangerous situation for me and I really thought that this would be a chance for the Giants to put a Mark that they were possibly competing for the playoffs but Atlanta put them back in their place Atlanta needed those wins as well so there was kind of like a playoff style Series in my books one and three not good enough one and one against the A's not good enough to keep yourself in this next row up and they are falling slowly but early out of the playoffs Wild Card clearly their only opportunity we know that NL West is stacked and they're probably going to take two of those wild guard spots for them to have to take three San Francisco needs to do better they just have too many games but the one thing I think if I remember doing my playoff prediction video properly they only have one Series against the padr and one against the Diamondbacks I think they do play a lot against the central so that could make a big difference number 18 kind of sitting there in that same spot pretty rough weak for them arguably could move them probably down and switch them with San Fran probably makes more sense they went 0 and3 against Cincinnati 1-2 against the Dodgers just one in five week for a team that was in the set I think as high as 12 or 11 maybe a month and a half ago making an argument that they had a chance at the NL Central it's just not come to fruition for them whatsoever and really is it lack of skill it feels that way that's really the team that's holding they're not not quite there they're not quite in the playoff race in my books and this kind of speaks well to me at 18 based on what we've seen from this team it's still a pretty solid season for the Cardinals I don't know if the expectations are really that high once the season got going but of course everyone starts the season thinking they're going to be in the playoffs I don't know if that was the case number 17 they were making a run to move up the board even further and then this weekend just the wheels fell off 28 runs against only three runs four when they play the Kansas City Royals a team that is on the edge of playoffs really and if Cincinnati wants to get themselves on the edge of playoffs they have to look a lot better than they did against the series against the Royals sure they had a good start to the week they beat three and0 against St Louis a division rival a team that they're going to have to hop but when you go across the road you're playing top Al teams to me it's going to transition a lot to what you're going to see in the top NL teams the Royals kind of look similar not quite the same lineup some of the top NL teams but Cincinnati I did predict them to finish sixth in the NL and possibly take that last playoff spot after this weekend I'm very very much concerned about how I rank them um but we'll see it's only one series I don't hold a whole lot of weight on it how a team rebounds from a series like this will tell a lot of how this team is going to compete the last six weeks of the season number 16 the team that just does not seem to go away they just don't do qu they don't want to leave it they want to make the playoffs and they're technically in the running still and to my surprise they're fighting very well a series sweep against the Arizona Diamondbacks that really start stopped them from moving further down the board because they started the week not so great right they got swept by Houston so these were two top tier teams in my power rankings last week two teams that I thought were going to do pretty well in the postseason when I was doing my predictions on Friday and Tampa Bay had a 500 week can they build off that it's going to really matter they do have a lot of games in the AL East and if they can go 600 700 down the stretch who knows what they are going to be capable of whatever Tampa Bay has they always seem to have the pitching to get in the fight and right now I'm not ready to count them out they're as average as it gets but they're trending up number 15 you wanted the Mets to do better this week and they just could not put it together 1-2 against Oakland two- one against Miami so they were playing two teams that were in the bottom row last week and put about 500 a week and a team that is chasing for that last wild card spot team that had had a poor start doesn't have the time left on the runway to have these kind of weeks against the lower tier teams in the MLB you have to be somewhat disappointed if you are a Mets fan with how this week went at the end of the day it wasn't a disaster they still picked up three wins but whether they can start to weather this storm they're going to start catching up to teams here that are somewhat struggling and were possibly playoff teams they're kind of in that boat too but once we get to the top 12 it gets pretty dicey cuz we're talking about teams that are above 500 now no one's above 600 that's still the case but it's so tight you can't risk falling behind the pack and number 14 is one of those teams that this week was a pretty much disastrous week they did fall behind the pack quite a bit they had a five game losing streak going into today and they luckily pounded Pittsburgh a little bit to get back on track but the damage might have already been done they're almost four games out now the last wild card spot the Houston Astros are leading the division and they seem to be the much stronger team at least mentally at this point Seattle has just not capitalized on the quality STS that they have been getting from their rotation all season long just absolutely not getting the Run support that they deserve in my prediction video I did pick them to take that six spot six spot and I'm already pretty much regretting it as you can see I'm trying to pay some homage to the Kansas City Royals cuz I kind of neglected them in that video and we're going to talk about them rather shortly but Seattle has a lot of work to do they are this is kind of the area here these two teams in my opinion are in very similar spots one did have a big division lead at one point whereas one was way way behind but they're kind of in the exact same spot now that we're talking about this season number 13 holding on to that last wild card spot in the NL and I still think they are confidently in that spot right now Atlanta is three in one against San Fran two in one against the Angels you would have loved to see a series sweep story I think that's three in one against the angels I don't know if I counted the last game of the day either way they beat the Angels and they beat uh the other team earlier in the week as well so Atlanta 3-1 against San Fran figures it out they managed to pick up some big wins and honestly to my surprise it seems to happen every time I do a playoff prediction video past two times now I kind of discount Atlanta kind of predict them missing the playoffs and then they go on a little bit of a run after I do that video so maybe you guys if you guys are brav fan you can thank me for predicting them missing the Playoffs cuz they're about to go on a little bit of a heater to prove me wrong because that always seems to be the case number 12 sticking around sticking around they are currently sitting outside of the playoff spot and they had a pretty good series against Baltimore splitting it two games to two they do beat Texas earlier in the week two games to one you would have loved to see them if they were going to make some big progress in this playoff race to beat Baltimore Baltimore has been somewhat struggling it feels like for the past two months but Boston doesn't quite capitalize and their offense manages to put up what is it 12 runs or 14 runs I can't quite remember uh on Saturday to really bail them out of a situation where they probably should have lost the game so B Boston continues to stick around do worry though there is a lot of strong Al teams ahead of them and number 12 uh I think once we get to number 11 and up you can really start to argue about apples and oranges on these cuzz it's so tight and I had to make choices I know last week it created a lot of controversy in the comments and let me know what you guys think definitely if we get to a situation you're like wow he's absolutely nuts on this one I I'd love to hear why because I like keeping the conversation going that's part of why I do this channel keep talking about what's going on so number 11 I think I'm moving them up a few spots they had a really good weekend I already touched about it when I was talking about Cincinnati but they demolished them 28 runs to three over those three games the problem is they started the week 1- two against Minnesota and between Minnesota and the Cleveland Guardians they just aren't making up games on them so really their only way in my opinion at this point to make the playoffs is to get that last seed in the Wild Card it kind of feels that that's the way they're very much capable they have the pitching rotations probably one of the top five rotations in the entire league we saw what they were capable especially early on in the season they had think a sub two ER after like a month maybe month and a half as a rotation and we're starting to see a little bit of that again when it counts that's going to be big for Kansas City Bobby Whit Jr on the other hand having a enormous season possible Al MVP if it wasn't for Aaron judge right and so the Royals they're in there they're in the hunt and I don't want to discount them and that's why wanted to give them a shout out this week number 10 before I put this I know this is probably going to be the most controversial pick cuz last week I had them at number eight and you guys just jumped down my throat how could I do it first of all the MLB had them at number one uh and I'm talking about the Baltimore Orioles guys and the MLB had them at number one which to me was just it made no sense considering what we had seen from them but now I have them at number 10 which is even lower than what I had them at last week and I took a lot of heat last week so they went one in one against Washington two- two against Boston we you go three and three overall 500 and at the end of the day the Orioles have been 500 for 60 straight games guys and if we look from the mid June to now I think they're have sub 500 record I don't know if exactly there is an date in June till now where there a few games under 500 and if we're talking about the MLB in the playoffs if you're playing below 500 baseball you're barely a playoff team you're not going to make it past the first round playing sub 500 you got to win more than you lose and right now the Orioles they do have times where you see their starters really control the game and get the win and then there's times where their starters and Bullpen just absolutely get killed and it kind of seems the same way for their offense even though they offense and their lineup has been so amazing at times there are times they just aren't capitalizing it and you saw it the Saturday game even though they scored 10 runs they still lost that game so those kind of games kind of add up and in my books when I start matching them up against anyone we're going to talk about head on the board come a seven game set I am not picking the Orioles against these teams number nine this is a pretty big drop uh From Grace they were number one for four or five weeks in a row at one point Philly goes one in one against Miami 3 And1 against Washington for an overall 4-2 week not an absolute disastrous week by any means but at the same time you just don't see the things that you want to see of a team that is going to be in the top five of The League they one Saving Grace for the Philadelphia Phillies is that you more likely than not they're going to walk away with this Division I you in my playoff prediction video I pretty much thought it would be a lock for them to get that byy but now after watching Milwaukee this week and watching How the West has been going it's seems like they're very much on a destined Pace to be number three in the playoff picture and that kind of sets you back on the board number three just because you're a division leader kind of sets you back because there are going to be other teams that are higher than you in Philadelphia we talked about it earlier in the season when they were doing so well they just weren't tested a lot they were playing mostly sub 500 teams they were playing the bottom of the board a lot and now we're starting to see that again this week they played the bottom of the board they went four and two like it's great but it's not going to be enough when you start playing the top 10 teams you got to be able to beat those as well number eight got the Minnesota Twins pretty good week for them two- one against Kansas City 3- one against Texas for an overall 5 and two week and arguably I thought about even moving them up into this top row and then I kind of took a pause and had to remember that this top row is pretty pretty tough to break into it's been a pretty big shakeup the top 10 is looking completely different week after week they're a lot of the same teams but the the shuffle has been all over the place Minnesota out of the top 10 has probably been one of the more OT teams one of the teams that has performed the best over the probably the past 60 games but when I start to look at them in a best of seven start see how they are going to match up with some of these other teams not quite sold there the one thing that is working in their favor is that the Gap to them and the Guardians has shrunk and that's because I do have the Guardians at number seven one of the biggest Falls of the week and it started off as a good week I talked about it already they did sweep the Cubs three games to zero but then they play a top five team in the Milwaukee Brewers and get swept and it starts to bring me concern this team has been 500 or sub 500 for maybe 30 plus days and I had been holding them at number two for quite some time and then when I start to look a little deeper start looking at how they've been performing over the past 45 days start to think H they maybe not quite going to be able to hold on against these top six teams as much as I had hoped and as much as I know the comment section is not going to like this one but guys I think this is super tight and they split their series last week two games to two and now we're seeing them neck and neck in the playoff race in the division race and we have a Royals team who is hungry and playing very good baseball as well if you want to start moving back up if you got to get back in this top row we need to see 600 plus baseball because at the end of this season we're going to have a couple of teams at 600 it's only a matter of time I don't think we've ever had a season where teams finished below right so for 600 it's going to happen who's it going to be in the central I think it's going to be one of those two teams next up number six I do move the Dodgers up a few spots I was pretty harsh on them and then they came back with a pretty good week they started the series against Milwaukee two win with two straight wins and then they dropped the next two so that was a little bit concerning you don't want to be too happy then they go in and they beat St Louis two games to one not a series you want to write home about but I think with their players starting to come back and they're just going to start to get their feet under them they're definitely going to be the team that is to beat this NL West I think is going to be the PowerHouse going forward we got three teams as you can tell in the top row from that strict division the Dodgers weren't healthy for a long time and you saw it in the results but now we're going to start to see them moving on up a couple of spots number five I do have the San Diego Padres they were one of the hotter teams for a long time and I even had them contemplating for the number one spot coming into this weekend but then they lose a series to Colorado and I know a lot of people talked about it in the playoff prediction video because I do have the Padres doing pretty well and they talked about how they just can't beat Colorado they just can't seem to get their curse or whatnot against Colorado I'm not going to hold too much against one series of Colorado but when you start to look a little deeper they do struggle at certain times and we talked about it for many months they they basically sat around 500 if they didn't go on that massive streak over the past month got to kind of want to see how the Padre's adjust after a tough series loss there they do have some tests coming up ahead of them in their own Division and it's so tight they're only a few games out but right now I do kind of edge them a little bit but the Dodgers do have a few games in hand that might make all of the difference number four I think one of the highest risings it's a little bit of last week too I kind of kept them out a little bit lower I wanted to see how they would keep going and they did not prove me wrong 3 and0 against Tampa at first in the week I was like it's not the biggest deal Tampa's on their way down but then we see Tampa Bay do that awesome series against Arizona and then you remember Tampa Bay just competes and competes and competes and Houston just showed pitching dominance in that series and I think that is one of the thing that does set them apart across this and across most of the AL because there does seem to be some pitching issues for a lot of these teams at the same time they go into this weekend two games to one against the white socks they win that's the big statement they're not going to sweep every team all the time especially the white socks the white socks can't lose 20 in a row all the time so that's still overall 5 in one week Houston has been the hottest team over the past three months I don't think there's any doubt about that you could even argue them possibly at this point as the number one I wouldn't I wouldn't debate it uh number three moving up it's been like six spots in the past two weeks for the Milwaukee Brewers they just kind of showed some fight this week and I liked to see it it started the week like I said 0 and2 against the Dodgers I was like oh this is not good and then they win the third game then they win the fourth game and they split that series a big comeback and then we see them sweep the Cleveland Guardians who were number two last week and a little bit edgy on the edge falling down but that's the kind of fight I want to see of some of these teams that are having a little bit of struggles come back you lose two games to the Dodgers and then you win five straight against top seven teams and that's the kind of that gives me a lot of respect in power Rin has me thinking that you are capable of making massive comebacks especially in playoff situations when your back is against the wall etc etc so Milwaukee a big a big pump up for them they did have pretty stellar week and I do like what I see with them number two I know that a lot of people probably aren't going to agree with this but for me they pretty much are the big favorite in the AL I don't think any other team will catch them I like they're they're all so tight right I'm saying this of course every team has a chance so tight but in my books the Yankees are probably the strongest team they got Wan stto and judge just in that lineup absolute beasts they have one of the easiest schedules in the entire M left if not the easiest so I would be shocked if they're not going to finish the season well above 600 and pick up a few wins here sure there have times where they get shot out Detroit just shut them out they have times where their pitchers just fall apart it happens but it seems to happen all the all over the league right now the top 10 teams everyone has been inconsistent one time or another and I think the Yankees are going to sort their stuff and walk away with number one and I think they have the PowerHouse to do it number one this was tough and I'm going to be honest uh I'm bringing Arizona back for one more week at the number one spot and I know a lot of people agreed with it last week I don't think there was much of a debate last week about them being number one this week they started and they proved me right very quickly sweeping Colorado three games to zero there was some shaky times there late in games had to have some comebacks in two of those games at least late in the Innings sure they find the sweep and then they get swept by Tampa Bay and that's where I started to be like oh I'm not so sure they should be number one but then I start looking at the rest of the league I start looking at how everyone else has kind of done and if I'm going to use One Sweep against a team that has been so competitive for years after years after years I'm not doing this right and realistically they almost had a big comeback today I think they ended up going 11 Innings and they do lose that one anyway but uh this is what I want to see I want to see how Arizona bounces back from this I'm just going to talk about like exactly what Milwaukee just went through this week I want to see what Arizona does I'm going to allow them that number one seed for one more time because I do still think matching up against all the teams below them I am going to pick the most days than not but it's all going to matter what's going on this week coming up and that's going to be what's so exciting we got six weeks left every series every game is starting to mean so much more so let me know what you guys think where am I just completely out to launch on this board what do you guys agree with what are you most excited to see for the rest of the season etc etc and guys we will see you for that next video
