Celebrating Jim Donovan: Cleveland Browns legends Bernie Kosar, Doug Dieken join the show

So who better to start the show with your broadcast partner for 25 years? The one and only Doug DJ and Bernie. Welcome in you guys. And thank you so much for being here is we're gonna try not to cry. Thank you. Wow. Wow. This guy is the best right here. This is unbelievable. He's the best. He took all the names that were over two syllables. You made, you made us look good on draft day. Doug would say please, I know the Samoans are good players but make them go to other teams. Hoy talky. Had me scared. I'm sure for you guys it's just so special to be here with your friend and just such an icon in the city and beyond. Well, yeah, you think about it? I think we had dinner on every road trip. So it's about 200 dinners together. So uh we spent a lot of time together and, you know, in, in the sports, you see some tough guys, nobody's tougher than him. Yeah. You know, and to be here um honored and humbled, I mean, trying to emotionally keep it together and we pride ourselves from the football side of it, of being strong, tough guys. And again, not wanting to swell your cranium up. But no, go ahead, Bernie resiliency. He's got one what you've done to be, to be here today and what you've done in, in our lives and then so many lives of, of, of your fans out there. It's just hats off to your brother. I have to tell you it was such a magical time. And Doug, Doug was in the broadcast booth when Bernie arrived and I was just, I was just getting here when I got here, you had just made the decision that you were gonna leave the University of Miami and I wanna be a Cleveland Brown. Now, there weren't a lot of people, right, Doug saying it at that time and Bernie came and it was coming from Boston. We're gonna show our age. He actually really liked me. I mean, this was great and it was just so much fun. I mean, it wasn't, it, it was just a, it was a golden age. It really was. Winning is fun. Winning is fun. It seems like yesterday, we're absolutely gonna sound like the old people here by seeing it goes by too fast, but the, the influence you've had on all of our lives, but my in particular, um honored again and humbled to be here and be able to work with him, you know, and I guess I always knew how good he was. But when we, you know, all of a sudden COVID hit and we were watching the games at the stadium on a monitor and the monitor would freeze and I started, you know, sweating bullets going. What the hell are we gonna do now? He just keeps on going. He keeps on going and we're gonna keep on going. We thank you both for being here.
