Say goodbye to the eighties. Things are heating up this week and then if you're outside, uh, you can see the haze behind you, Sam. Yeah, you sure can. Isn't it crazy how things can really change? Last week? It felt like fall. It was a taste of fall, right? And we had temperatures in the forties in some spots last week in the morning hours. And so far throughout the course of this morning to kick off the week, we had a pretty mild start to the morning with sixties in the low seventies and now we're cruising into the eighties in most spots yesterday. I know on Sunday it was rather hot. We did clip 93 to cap off the weekend and this morning we did dip down to 69 in Louisville. So barely getting into the sixties. And already we have, as we've hit the lunch hour at noon, climbing to 89 at the international airport in Louisville. So we have a hot day on display and temperatures arguably will be a lot hotter as we get you into the daytime hours tomorrow. And throughout the course of this week, 86 at Bowman field. We're clipping 86 in Fort Knox in the feels like temperature outside. Really not too bad. It's not worth showing you because humidity is just kind of lacking today. So really we can just kind of take a look at the actual air temperature to get a perspective on just how hot it actually is outside. 85 in the grange 90 from Springfield towards Frankfurt. We're flirting with 90 Litchfield is sitting at 90 flat as we speak. So today 94 in Louisville and notice outside the city will still be in the lower nineties, but a touch cooler than in Jeffery County today or this week will be the hottest week of the year. By far, we're gonna be seeing high temperatures by the time we get into tomorrow, surging into the upper nineties and the upper nineties are gonna be in our picture as we take you into Wednesday. And on Thursday, that does mean we're actually gonna be tracking more humidity entering the picture tomorrow and that's gonna be bringing in unbearably hot conditions. So we're gonna be talking more about the feels like temperature beginning tomorrow and going into Wednesday and Thursday, we also do have an air alert that is posted today and that's also in effect tomorrow. So a quick heads up if you have asthma, uh please limit your time outside again. This is a code orange air quality alert and it does go into effect tomorrow as Well, finally expiring at midnight tomorrow night, you see this high pressure just to the east of us. This has been that high that has been bringing uh dry conditions for the past week. We haven't seen measurable rain in over a week in Louisville and we're gonna be struggling to see any kind of suggestions of rain until we get you into about Friday of this week. Here's actually a quick look at the regional Future Cast still staying cloudless into the course of the day today. And this evening, tomorrow afternoon, a couple of possible cumulus clouds growing across our eastern spots, but tomorrow is gonna be as dry and hot as today. And the next shot of rain could possibly be just to the north into Wednesday evening. We're getting suggestions. A weak front is going to be drifting into central Indiana and western Ohio. But take a look at future cast. All that rain potential will be staying well to the north of us. So, unfortunately, we're not gonna be seeing any kind of relief from this heat, maybe just a few more clouds into Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. But, uh for the most part, we're gonna be staying very warm, very hot and just downright humid each night. And each afternoon tomorrow, the feels like temperatures will have no problem getting to 100 degrees if not getting to about 100 5. By the time we get you into Wednesday, they're easily gonna be hitting 105 anywhere from Jasper towards Louisville and Scottsburg. In fact, some heat indices by Thursday may be approaching 110 degrees. So we're talking about serious heat with weather impact alert days posted tomorrow through Friday of this week. Now, Friday's weather impact alert day issued because of the chance for thunderstorms, some of which possibly could be severe. We're gonna be watching Friday very closely as that front moves in, but it will be bringing relief with a cooler weekend ahead.
