Gambia Basketball U21 team prepares ahead of Amilca Cabral in Guinea Bissau

all right hello everyone my name is cimosa live at the basketball court here at bakau and it is behind me is The Gambia under 21 basketball team in intensive training ahead of the am Capal basketball Memorial Tournament in guina BAU which is seled this month 28th to 24th or 25th 2024 in Gin bis here with me is coach alang one of the coaches will take us through give us up to speed about the under 21 basketball team training especially the previous days and today particular tring session yeah yeah good to have you guys here cim we under the preparation towards the am c z tournament which is going to take place in guine bis from the 20th to 25th under the leadership of Coach Daniel being our head coach we've been really preparing during this past week making sure that the players are in good towards the competition right we have seen The Gambia Basketball Association tax you guys for getting this team up and ready for the tournament almost you guys have started honest preparation tell us about the team I guess this is not the final 12 man or final team that will be representing Gambia that's right that's right that's right well this is the 15 right now and we the we working towards the final 12 that's the team that's going to go out there to represent the nation Yeah Yeah from the beginning and now we we we we have seen a lot of uh improvement from them like the team sets the team tactics and lot of individual developments yeah that they've been doing really good really good yeah from the past weeks and now looking at the 15 players here I personally will say these are one of the best players I can say the league that have been we have been seen in the previous clubs are they giving you guys a lot of thinking or lot of lot of dilemma like in terms of going for the final 12 both you and Co D and others obviously I would said yeah I can say like this final 15 are like they are the top of top of top players in the nation right now they really good so we really doing our good we our good stuff we're looking on every little details that they are doing here to make sure that we have the best 12 it will be very difficult I can say yeah but we'll surely do it we surely have our final 12 basically one can say the team and the players are very set and S ready for the tournament it might not be in your knowledge but like can you tell us everything been prepared or how things are going it is positive that everything will be sorted before the team departs for this yeah surely surely I have I have hope that everything will be shorter because when it comes to the Tactical and the technical side here we really doing everything that is expected for from us to do yeah I'm really sure that before the tournament approaches everything will be in place can you give us some other updates as well for the tournament because how important will it be for these players because it has been decades one can say Gambia basketball uh Gambia didn't participates in gambian in competitions like such yeah yeah obviously it will be very good for these players because it's an International Event and everybody will be there like it's a very good opportunity for these players to sell themsel out there and especially for The Gambia you know it's been like 10 years since the last time we have a national team five for five team yeah so it's a very big opportunity for each and every one of these players here and Gambia to move to the next level because it's long over you will there be any test matches for this team before they depart for G because training alone might not be sufficient or enough obviously obviously yeah the test mat is already been fixed we are already being sh because tomorrow we be having a test match on Friday to we'll be having a test match now now towards the final date for us to depart from here to this every week we will be having two or three test games yeah to make sure that they know the sets and everything that we've been practicing here yeah obvious all right thank you very much coach Al J any message that we want to send out for the basketball family as you know is a small family literally everybody knows each other that's right that's right yeah well everybody out there The Gambia is here we're doing it for the nation yeah we are really prep and we need all your support out there to know that we doing this for us and you to are all welcome support in everything you know just take the game to the next level and to go 100% Gambia out there
