Happy Saturday to you a wet couple of days behind us and that's been, temperatures have topped out a bit cooler than normal in the seventies to eighties. More of the same on the way today, that precision cat is showing a lot of the rain concentrated toward our coastline is only going to continue to slide further south as we head into the next 24 hours and then finally taper off as we have a cold front pushing through and bringing us cooler drier air on the backside, heading into your Saturn night and Sunday morning. So some great timing with football across southeast Louisiana. Really kicking off, you're gonna see that stationary front then park right near the southernmost tip of the boot and mouth of the Mississippi River as we head into the next 24 hours. So today's forecast once again keeps our temperatures anywhere from the mid seventies to topping out right at that 80 degree mark. We'll continue with rain chances tapering off from the 40% range down to just about 20% of the area seeing coverage as we head into tonight. That's great news for LSU in Tiger Stadium of course, we always say the chance of rain is never in Death Valley and just playing nickels not too far away. So lots of traffic on the roads likely heading to and from that game, of course, maintain caution as a lot of them will be slick, but we'll continue with those upper seventies to low eighties as a comfortable tailgate forecast. And then you start to see the cooler air filtering in overnight tonight. So look at the North Shore some sixties. That's a bit of a taste of fall. Of course, we welcomed it officially last weekend in terms of meteorological fall, but we'll have to wait for the 22nd for the season to truly arrive. So anywhere from 63 closer to the Mississippi State line to those upper sixties on the North shore in Covington, as well as Slidell and then on the South Shore, you'll see those lower seventies in the metro and some upper seventies closer to our coastline. All a matter of who sees the rain and when then we'll head into Monday with additional nice comfortable lows before another round of unsettled weather returns. So thankfully, all this happens right in time for the Saints home opener, which is a divisional game. Always a big deal against the Panthers. You won't need the umbrella unless you're second lining and hopefully will be leaving the dome with a win. Make sure you grab that outer layer if you're headed to the game it was very cold inside the dome. I'm sure a lot of people are excited to see the renovations as we head towards the afternoon time frame. When you're leaving the game, temperatures will top out in the eighties. So of course, you'll lose that on the way back to the car. Our tracking the tropics graphic does show a little bit more activity. Now, yesterday, we had about five different areas to watch and a bunch of them fizzled out. So that's always great news and a sign of some wind you in the environment tearing up that favorability for development. But if you look off towards Cancun and the Bay of Camp Peachy, we are watching yet another area of unsettled but unorganized thunderstorms. So we're gonna keep an eye on this as we head into next week, just like we've been dealing with over the past couple of days, we're likely gonna see additional gulf moisture bringing heightened rain chances and the possibility for some localized flash flood potential late Monday into Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the coming week. So we've been getting these breaks during the weekend, which is exactly what you want. Basically, we're gonna be seeing that tropical low in addition to an upper level strong high in the gulf. So that actually helps to offset steering concerns for any type of major issue locally. But we are gonna be watching for the possibility of that additional rainfall and therefore the possibility of some launches going into effect as these rain chances jump up above 50%. So enjoy today as it starts to improve and then we'll see an improvement even more. So overnight tonight and tomorrow that 60% chance back with us Monday, Tuesday, we jump up to about 70 for Wednesday, Thursday. Nothing we aren't used to here, especially after this last week. But the good thing about the rains that it keeps our temperatures much cooler in the eighties. So today will be our coolest day by far with lots of cloud cover around tomorrow. Finally, peaks of sunshine return and then we'll head into the start of the work week with additional downpours possible by later on Monday. Comfortable air as you're waking up on Monday to start and then we'll see that rain in our forecast for late Monday overnight to Tuesday. Temperatures start rising back into the seventies on both sides of the lake and we'll top out in the eighties. But that's your consistent forecast for Tuesday into Friday. And then we'll have better improvements next weekend.
