I wish you could have seen the outpouring of love I think we all lose special people but it's very very rare you lose someone who's so special to so many different people and as you can see it's pretty raw still he's um you leave a massive Hall and I know there be a lot of people out there who are out broken this morning on the news from yesterday A lot of people from the M andd Community will be heartbroken this morning um but he cared about everybody and what's really really important is that Rob burough continues to live forever and our team I'm sure the M andd community and everyone who supported us previously we'll make sure that Rob's name is at the Forefront of everything we do going forward but he's to see what he's done the last four and a half years you know I saw and we're amazed at some of the things he did in the Rugby field but to see some of the things he's done the last four and a half years is um has been unbelievable and the respects and love and um admiration I've got for him uh couldn't be any higher the inspiration he's given everybody across the UK who's who's been across this story our correspondent Fraser M has more from Leeds it just shows the strength of the bonds that the pair had they were inseparable as players Kevin sinfield Rob Burrow's Captain both of them proud to play together in one of the greatest teams that rugby league has ever seen and all conquering leads rhinos team that won everything that there was to to win in the uh in the game of rugby league and uh that's uh he's an icon here and he's an inspiration to the to the latest crop of players many of them came here today to pay their respects they saw Rob's family here they were lining up to shake hands and give uh hugs to the to the family by way of support and they spoke too of the inspiration that Rob has been both on and off the pitch showing people how to play the game toughly and fairly but also how to live your life off the pitch as well with the honor and dignity that that Rob showed when he was being beset by this most cruel of diseases Kevin sinfield there the rawness and the emotion was quite clear well don't think anyone will forget the scenes of him carrying Rob over the line of the the first Rob burrow Marathon that happened a couple of years ago the the second of them happened just a couple of weekends ago here in Leeds that is something that will carry on in Rob's name as will that muron Center and it was at the breaking of the earth there that I also spoke to Rob's family I had a chat with Irene his mother clearly a very emotional day for her the tragedy of the loss of her son but the pride that she felt for everything that he'd achieved whilst battling the most difficult of adversities this is what she told me he'll be so proud that we've pulled ourselves together and uh We've managed to get here we've got to do it for for Rob lindsy and the kids and um the old M andd community you know and uh keep strong and keep smiling because that's what Rob was he smiled every day he certainly did smile at everything I was lucky enough to meet Rob and interview him on many occasions both during his playing career and subsequently and he never lost that twinkle in his eye never lost that devilish sense of humor and it was just a tragedy that in the end he was given one fight that he had no chance of winning but his name here headingly and here in leads will live on
