[Music] all right guys what's going on welcome in so there was this article that was released from the New York Post here regarding Tyron Smith and just his overall impact on the New York Jet so far and man did it fire me up like I reading that thing I was I was pumped right not going to lie to you I was sitting there smiling the entire time Tyron Smith look we're not even at day in a training camp right a lot of things can happen I understand that completely but Tyron Smith has been as advertised right I mean we signed into this incentive based contract a lower number than what he was projected to get on the open market going into it that signing shocked a lot of people because we never really see Joe Douglas laying deals with the top player at a specific position of need uh in free agency it it always feels like it's the tier 2 guys that Douglas brings in but in the case of Tyron Smith he was the best left tackle on the market going into it everybody knew that and then we get the weird report about only two teams which I'm still admittedly concerned about um two teams offered tyrants with the deal the Cowboys and the Jets Smith rolls with the Jets but so far since he's been in the building apparently he's impressed coaches and teammates on the practice field in the wait room as well Sal actually made a comment that he looks strong and and and he was just throwing around weight uh making it look easy and also in the locker room one of the big things as well with Tyron Smith or really with drafting Olu fashion uh was to pair him with Tyron Smith right that connection that potential bond between former allpro Elite left tackle and a highly talented rookie coming out of Penn State who excels in pass blocking but might need a little bit little bit of time on the bench and a little bit of mentorship I felt like this was before the draft I felt like it was it was such a perfect fit because you have Tyron Smith for the short term he does Miss time right unfortunately Tyron Smith has been beat up with injuries he's dealt with numerous uh big bigger injuries so you you got your guy you got your former all proo in the short term you got Olu in the long term but better yet you Tyron Smith is a fantastic teammate he's a fantastic teacher great great in the lock everybody knew Teran Smith was going to make an impact as a leader in this Jets locker room and frankly I felt like look at it last season how that how 2023 went with hacket Salah everybody like pointing the nobody's taking accountability whatsoever uh we needed more leaders the New York Jets needed more leaders and Tyron Smith is exactly that but he's taking old fashion under his wing he's showing him the ropes and that again that big brother little brother uh relationship in June late May mid June I mean it's been great right like put yourself in the shoes of Olu fashu right you're coming in to the New York Jets a team that really has not had a franchise left tackle in man I don't even know how long it's been a long time right there's going to be pressure on you you obviously got to perform but you're coming in with a great skill set you're coming in with a with size athleticism good tape lots of people have high expectations and all of a sudden the team that you're going to in the New York Jets has again an allpro great guy great teammate great leader somebody who excels in the position that you that o that Olu is going to be playing and he's going to be teaching you and pouring all of his information that he knows that he's absorbed through playing the NFL game into you he's going to be teaching you all of that so you don't have to play right away and you have a great great leader showing you the ropes that's freaking awesome that is like that's what you want from the quarterback position that's what we're talking about all the time the Jets are just always throwing the rookie quarterbacks out there s darnold Zach Wilson they're you know go go save the franchise go save the franchise I mean I know for me I I wish that darnold or Zach got this type of treatment right where he can sit for a while uh he can learn from you know a great player um so you know I am absolutely thrilled with the depth of this offensive line line I mean we got avt coming back from injury Joe titman I'm expecting to take a massive leap in year two I'm going to do a whole uh separate video on that which I'm really excited about trading for Morgan Moses signing John Simpson uh bringing in uh Laval from the UFL stand out one of the best pass blocking uh interior offensive lineman somebody who can play guard or Center man I'm freaking pumped up I I I think if anything we could probably use maybe maybe maybe just one one more interior offensive lineman Conor McGovern bring him back on a oneyear $1.1 million deal just like we did last year I could definitely see something like that happening but I I mean man it's night and day compared to this this point last year night and day I feel so much better about the offensive line the current state of the o line now than I did a year ago two years ago 3 years ago four years it's been forever so we're finally in a good place from a talent perspective from a health perspective from a depth perspective and look of course you know we haven't even hit training camp yet so there is a chance that somebody goes down or something um which we have to be uh prepared for but again I I think just going into a year I'm I'm I'm thrilled I love the state of this Jets offensive line let me know your thoughts Down
