look I thought we we started the game uh well uh in in the first half had our opportunities to uh Take the Lead uh they scored against the run a play which can happen uh I thought our response was good uh to get it to 2-1 uh and then the second half was was really poor uh we didn't have intensity uh we thought maybe the game was already won and uh we paid for it so um 47 teams entered and and we finished fourth so not good enough uh not what we wanted but uh have to regroup quickly now and get ready for Columbus to that point about the second half um what was it about with just the entire performance you just weren't happy at all with and then I guess how do you try and throw that away for Wednesday because the the upcoming stretch now it's pretty boun for you guys yeah we have a we have some good teams uh left on the schedule that's for sure um we have a everything is is still possible though um we kind of control our own destiny as it as it sits right now um we've we've gained some positive momentum I think from this competition and uh had two really good wins in the league before the break for leagues cup uh so while this is you know a painful one to lose in PKS um you have to take the the good performances and the decent results that we've gotten recently and and try and build on them uh because it doesn't get easier right Columbus comes in Wednesday obviously they'll play right now um we'll be on the same rest uh it'll be a difficult game but at home our margins because we had such a poor first half of the year you know are are really small so I think the group will bounce back uh and put together a team for Wednesday uh that can play with uh the right intensity I thought again we started the game really well and I thought we're all over Colorado for whatever uh the chances we created I think could have had more goals um but at the same time it wasn't enough they scored you know a little bit of an Unlucky One with Leon on the tackle on the first goal and then the second one um we don't we give up three consecutive kind of corner kicks at the beginning the half and uh when you do that you leave things to chance and the kid hit a good good shot um I think Dre was a little obstructed but um goal counted and and we paid for it Jim you talked about some positive momentum obviously Tai I'm sure is one of those that comes out of this tournament but how do you feel that this team's position now for this busy stretch ahead what do you take out of this tournament yeah like I I said to you guys before we had um a run of about three games where we had some really good depth um you know we lost obviously Jose and and Damen now so it gets a little bit thinner we're going to have to call upon guys to to step up uh and and play the bulk of of the minutes the schedule's a little unique and now that we go Wednesday and then Saturday against Red Bull in a you know a high-intensity game as always and then we shut down for two more weeks so it's a little bit sto and start uh but that's that's the way things uh have shaken out um again starts with with Columbus and having a really good performance against a really strong team one we just saw hopefully they're a little hungover or whatever whatever word you want to use and and we can jump on them at home um but we've put ourselves in a hole in the regular season um but we also know we have a group that can go on a win streak and and and three wins in a row in this league and all of a sudden you're you're right back up the table that's the reality of it whether you like it or not as a as a fan um that is the reality so we have to find a way to put together um some wins and and and add to our point total and and get in the playoffs and then from there we can can play with anybody like we said on Daniel's EK Tendencies of what he does in the regular games and what he doesn't shoot out obviously he wasn't part of the maton one you took him off just before that yeah any thoughts on that difference in his place yeah PKS are a part of the game I don't think they are the you know they're they're it's a strange way to to conclude a game I I think I've said that forever um and Danny's uh the guy who carries I would just say the the scoring load for this club um it's almost you know 15 to 20 plus goals every year the assists that he gets um he's he's the guy that makes plays for us um sometimes we have to maybe take that burden off of him because we rely so much on him to get goals uh obviously great uh at penalty kicks um and in in recent shootouts has had you know some some some tough moments but again I don't I don't judge guys just by by pkss he brings so much to the club he's such an important player and uh yeah a little unlucky to to not score today and and Stephan made some good saves you know let's be honest he he made some really good saves and he's he's good at PKS so I do know that uh did the news about Damian affect the lineup choices today with h three out of the five uh penalty kick uh takers from the m game not be available and uh I don't know what you what can you say about Damen and his presence with the team yeah Damen Damen gave a ton to the the club uh in his short time here he's a guy I've had a great relationship with Through The Years um you know he's his contract was coming to an end um there's there's two things that can happen uh we could secure him here um and he wound up getting a I'll just say a much better offer from Saudi Arabia and uh he'll go there and and do well um doesn't make us any better that's for sure but um you know we have uh nine games left now uh to the to conclude the season we have to get as many points as as possible other guys have to step up uh in his absence but um great player great person uh uh I think has a an opportunity now to set up his family uh in with the contract that he got there um so we didn't get in the way and and block that from happening um so again part of the game you lose good players and it happens um but we have to focus now on on finishing strong in the last nine games okay we're g to go on to soon with the last question uh for the press conference today go ahead Matt Pard uh hi coach Matt Pard burgundy wave you coach Kean Rosenberry for a number of years at Philly what have you made of what he's done with the Rapids now being a captain thank you yeah look anytime Chris armis picks you as the captain that means you're a very good leader Chris was an incredible leader of of a lot of teams that I played on in Chicago uh and he's a a winner uh Keegan we worked with here in Philadelphia did a great job in his time here uh moved on to Colorado got better and better as the years went on and uh good kid good player and uh happy for all the success he's had um you know being the captain of a team is a big responsibility and speaks to kind of the the culture that um Chris wants to build there and he has Keegan as his his leader to uh execute that culture so um two good people two good uh human beings and and you know they're they're good at this game of of of soccer so happy for Keegan um even in a loss tonight
