many sports fans know Charli Charlie mfor as The Frugal owner of the Colorado Rockies but he's also a very generous alumnist of the University of Utah making what the school calls a significant donation to the future of Utah baseball in their program a donation that is helping the school build a brand new oncampus baseball stadium the UTS have played home games at Smith's Ballpark since 1994 on Wednesday Utah officially held the groundbreaking ceremony for what will be called Charlie monford field at America first ballpark a ballpark that will serve the youths but could also be home for community events including future High School state tournaments the Little League programs and all that stuff like I said in my comments this is a Community Asset right it's the home of Utah baseball but with the turf field and with where it's located we know others can use it and we really want that to happen these young men and future women deserve a place they can call home they can be proud of and they can show off to the teams that come in here at Salt Lake City and the whole Community here can be proud of
