𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 released

well today the Royal commission handed down its very significant report into veterans and Veteran suicide uh it's a compelling read it's a very arduous read seven volumes 122 recommendations uh I'll be pouring over that over the next week or two uh because we as a nation have to get to the bottom of why so many of our veterans have taken their own lives uh it is a a a national shame on us uh that our men and women of the ADF so many of them have been unable to assimilate back into uh civilian Society I hope that uh that both the government and the opposition will be able to come together and Implement uh and see the implementation of these 122 recommendations it's really important for our veterans uh and I look forward as the uh the deputy chair of the defense subcommittee to uh work with the executive and try and uh ensure that our veterans are properly supported both within the ADF and when they they leave the ADF there's a lot of work to be done but I'm looking forward to the challenge ahead
