Off The Court Ep.1 Dallas Cowboys schedule breakdown

yo what's good welcome back to the Sideline Story podcast got my boy K so with me what's up bro chilling man feeling good it's Friday man how you doing chilling Chillin man same um so I know I'm a predominantly a basketball podcast but I call this off the court every blue moon I might talk about something that has nothing to do with basketball just to kind of like show some range so um the first episode off the court is going to be the Dallas Cow Cowboys schedule breakdown me and queso we Cowboys fans uh it's not a it's not an easy life that's all I'm going to say it's rough out here in these streets so um I guess we'll we'll go over the schedule and uh I guess we could kind of come up with our uh own personal records that we have for the season so uh before we get into that um let's kind of talk about the offseason just for a little bit um I know a lot of people kind of down on offseason because we haven't made a ton of moves but I kind of choed that up to we have a lot of people we got to pay already so um how you feel about that queso I feel like uh as far as the offseason goes we uh it was very quiet you know we um we brought back Zeke lost Gilmore um so I didn't really like losing Gilmore but also we got Diggs coming back and so if they believe in Bland then I mean I can see why you would um not mind losing Gilmore I don't like our running back situation at all I don't like our receivers situation at all especially with CD lamb being in a contract hold out so it's a little it's definitely iffy right now I'll say that it's it's iffy but hopefully they figure something out here in the next week or so because it's not looking good yeah the wide receiver room it's it's kind of weak uh the running back room may be is actually weaker um I'm trying to really figure out the bright spot on the team I'm kind of having trouble finding it uh I feel like from a defensive standpoint uh losing Stefon Gilmore I'm kind of I was kind of down about that because us acquiring him in the first place was for him to be quarterback number two and when Trayvon went down he had to kind of assume the number one role even though he's used to it it's just that at this point in his career I feel like quarterback number two was kind of perfect for him so yeah we didn't really would we never we never get to see it um it kind of sucks but um other than that though um how you feel about going into the season like as a confidence level like where you at with that on a scale of 1 to 10 I'm at about a a six right now as far as how confident I am we got a a pretty tough schedule it's not an easy schedule at all um but I'm just I believe in what we drafted I like the o l that we drafted especially replacing uh Smith I think that was a big a big issue and I think replacing him is gonna be key um but with the schedule I mean if you want me to go ahead and get into my prediction for the record I'm looking at 133 and four maybe 12 and five which is pretty much what we've been the last three years you know so I think uh the Cleveland game is a toss up I think we win it the four losses I got is Baltimore one game to the Eagles one game to the uh 49ers then I think that Houston game we might end up dropping but other than that I think we can um we can beat the rest of those teams I don't think it should be an issue so my issue with the schedule why why do we keep playing the 49ers I'm trying to see what's that's about it's not a it's not a rivalry no more we we have yet to beat them I'm trying to see like what's what's the issue with like who who's making the schedule why they keep doing this like they find ratings that game that game does crazy ratings every year so they they gonna keep doing it it's just like back in the day when the Colts and the Patriots will play every year with the with pton Manning and Tom Brady it's just the ratings like that that game gets views so they gonna keep doing it from a fan perspective it's just like while we we back here again and we got to go into San Francisco again so it's like with that being said kind of you know I hate it how you feel about the week seven bye is that too early how you feel about that I actually like a week seven bye I rather I'd rather be like more towards the middle of the Season than too early or too late so I don't mind the week seven by week at all I know um our schedule like leading into the B week we got Detroit I think is the week before which we beat them last year but I think Detroit is gonna be a good team great then afterwards I like having a b week right before San Francisco you get a little bit of extra time to kind of game plan and try and figure it out then um obviously we got Atlanta Philly after that so I think I think that's a perfect time for a by week because Atlanta is the team that's a lot of people are high on having Kirk Cousins and those new pieces They just added on defense with judon and Justin Simmons then Philly is Philly so that's always gonna be like a a rivalry type game they got sequan they got all those guys over there so I think it's a perfect time for a by week to kind of if we are kind of in a slump coming to that point to reset and kind of get back right on the right foot so I think um I think it's a good spot for the B week and uh hopefully they they able to use that to their advantage and take advantage of that San Francisco 49ers match up they actually the Eagles just got uh Johan doson right from the command Speedy receiver so that's kind of um yeah it's a weird move too it's a weird move inivision move right yeah inivision and they also it's not like they was hurting for like receivers like you got you got brown you got Smith so it's like you got barley it's like why you so maybe they just trying to go Overkill with it but I don't know it's weird move though I got I got a few game I got like three games three or four games is like my most interesting games the first one will be Lamar Jackson um the second one it would be Atlanta and the third one I have three actually the third one it'll be a Houston um we haven't played Lamar Jackson at all right if I'm not mistaken I don't think we've ever played Jackson and I think if I'm not mistaken they said he only lost one time to the NFC since he's been a pro and I want to say that was um was it Daniel Jones I think I heard it was I think he lost to Daniel Jones if I'm not mistaken uh that'll just be interesting to see how we game plan for him because he is a dual thre uh quarterback um the second one to be Atlanta um I think with a new quarterback with a competent quarterback I'm kind of interested to see how he unlocks that offense because when you got guys like Kyle pittz and Drake London I feel like like we know they talented but we really haven't got to see them at a high level because of like the quarterback play and like the Year bejan this would be bejan Robinson second year in the uh in the league so he got a year of experience under his belt I kind of want to see how they uh turn out against us and the last it's a make a break year for pits too because his whole excuse is being he hasn't had a quarterback so now that he got a quarterback that's gonna get him the ball he got to put up numbers so this year four for C piss right yeah year four yeah oh this a contract year yeah so he got to put up a up I think he'll put up cuz he's got a quarterback that's going to spam him the ball so it shouldn't be an issue yeah we we we really get to see our talent he really he truly is because I do believe that he's a talent we we get to see it though the last one of be Houston um this will be the first time when now CJ Strat only two years in we haven't played Houston for a while actually if I'm not mistaken I think the last time we played Houston I think desan Watson was the quarterback if I'm not mistaken yeah that was the last play Houston uh CJ stra Stefon Diggs tank dead Nico Collins Joe I think a lot of people forget they got Joe Mixon I because when I he a lot of people name off all of the talent that they have on offense that kind of gets pushed to the wa I'm like you know they got Joe Mixon right like that team that was a sneaky pickup and then tank Dale coming off the injury I think he gets forgot about a lot of times but like that's that offense is going to be nice they got a decent o line three three solid receivers like Nico Collins a 6'4 with speed like he's he's a problem Diggs obviously is the number one then tank Dale that rookie season he was having was before he got hurt was crazy so they got a offense you add in Joe Mixon and you got CJ stra in his second second year coming off I mean he was confident as a rookie last year without all these weapons so now you got him with these weapons it should be it should be good so it's scary they got uh what was that Daniel Hunter and they have a lot of people I'm actually h on um I'm having a brain F right now what's the quarterback Stingley Stingley yeah St is nice he had a real good bounceback season from his rookie year yeah uh I actually heard I can't remember who it was somebody was like if you ask a bunch of GMS who would they rather have S Gardner or Stingley a lot of people would say Stingley I think they feel like he has more like upside even though sa is like s at best he's top five you know what I'm saying but I think Stingley just has that breakthrough potential to be like possibly number two because I think Cain is like that guy yeah but I think that's I think um there was a reason Stingley went before saon a draft like Stingley is nice but he just had a a down rookie season so a lot of people kind of started writing him off and S had such a crazy rookie season that it was looking like man he's really about to blow him out the water but Stingley bounced back last season like he could have been a he could have been a pro bowler and All Pro of the um if they if we're looking at the numbers and stuff so I think they I don't think the gap between them is really that that great at all I think it's they right there neck and neck so the Texans definitely hit on that pick and he he's a he's a lock down Corner lock down um I feel like games that's pretty much a wash Panthers Saints both of the Giants games I think the commanders one of those commanders games could get like a little frisky uh possibly in Washington just I feel like Dan Quinn he may he may get them ready for one of those games I feel like the game here we might get them but in in Washington it could get a little frisky it's a division game I wouldn't be surprised if that game was was close I just wouldn't be surprised yeah especially since like you said it's Dan Quinn so he knows our roster he knows our our strengths and weaknesses he knows us like what we was doing what we do best so um I think that along with I think Jaden D is gonna be a really good quarterback like when the when the Redskins or not commanders drafted him I was upset because I did not want him in the division I think he's gonna be good for like years to come so I think that combination they could definitely steal a game from us if they um they play their cards right but I got us I got us winning both those games um but I think I think one of them like you said the one at home I think it could definitely be close because they got weapons over there Scary Terry is I think top I think he's a top 10 receiver um they got some weapons over there also got Austin Eckler they just picked up so they got some guys that can there they got Zack s right yeah they got Z her better in security blanket for sure for uh for Jane Daniels um I feel like what could play in our favor with him though I hope I'm right um him having a defensive head coach if Dan Quinn isn't the guy hopefully it take a couple of years just to stagger him a little bit so we can have like some early success before they get like a true uh offensive coach because I feel like if any He he'll all up Dan Queen for show I don't know how long he had that job like defensive coach sometimes it just doesn't work you know what I'm saying so yeah that'll be the case with him but how you feel about this um I really want to get into the Browns game bro I feel like that game is G it's gonna tell a lot because that defense last year that defense was amazing you know Denzel W granted Dell pit and miles gar those type of guys like they got some they got some killers on defense how you feel going into week one like no CD L potentially like you know it's that's a tough matchup especially week one just because miles Garrett is a game breaker like if you don't if you don't double him he's getting to your quarterback every play and stopping the run so you have to double him so that already changes up your game plan um I think the wild card in that game is Deshawn Watson whether he's gonna be the desan Watson of old or desan Watson of last year where he was inconsistent and not very good so I think if uh if deshan Watson is at his best and we have to play them that game is going to be tough for us to win because that like you said that defense is is really good especially when you got two guys in the in the secondary that can like really hold their own and shut [ __ ] down it's tough and then miles Garrett is just he I think he's the best defensive player in the game I mean I love the Cowboys I love Michael Parsons but miles Garrett is just he's different like he different he different yeah let's take a side quest real quick me personally I think and I and I love him like with all due respect I think after this year I might be good on desun respectfully I I just I just don't know right this how you feel about that yeah he I mean with the contract he got paid and the way they the [ __ ] Hoops they jump through to get him like he has to if he don't put up this season especially coming off seeing Joe flacko get them to the playoffs and do what he did like you gotta you got to put up or you got to get out of there even with that contract and all that money you getting paid if if they think they can go a different direction and and make some noise then they gonna move on from him so I think he has to he has to return the form this season for sure like he gota he gota look like the old desan Watson I know a lot of people not really mentioning him but I feel like he's one of the players with the most pressure like guys like him guys like Jaylen Herz like a lot of guys Trevor Lawrence even like a lot of guys on the some scrutiny from like a media standpoint um you know but um still his game I feel like that'll be interesting I wonder who who you think starting who you think starting Russ uh fields I I mean if I'm the Steelers I would go with Fields just because he's younger and he has obviously more upside I think Russell Wilson I think he's kind of declin we've seen what he can do and I think um even just seeing him like playing this season like he just didn't he don't look the same I get bringing him in for like a veteran presence and this and that but if I'm the Steelers and I trade it for Justin Fields I I would have to start Fields like I think he's a really good quarterback he's accurate I just think it it sucks that they traded away one of his weapons I think that would have really benefited having um having Johnson over there so them getting rid of Johnson and only having Deontay Johnson yeah he's with the Panthers now I didn't know that I may have you know it may have been a while ago yeah he's with the Panthers so I think uh I think with um obviously with the other guy they got over there he it's nice having him yeah George pickings yeah George pickings but I think having both them guys on the outside would have really benefited Justin field so now not having them I think it um that's crazy it kind of yeah it's Gonna Hurt So when got that bag um I wonder I'm thinking I think I think they gonna go with Russ week one but the thing is I feel like whoever starts the season won't finish the season at a quarter that makes sense so by the time they get to us it could be a different quarterback um week six and eight kind of interesting like right before the week we got a we got a a championship caliber team and after the bye we got a championship caliber team I think and I don't want to sound bitter or like anything like that but I feel like we getting ready to play like the this last iteration of 49ers teams uh this in this particular team uh in particular um once they pay Brock pretty they gonna have to decide I'm pretty sure uh green law is gone I know they gonna I mean Fred w over green law that's pretty much automatic um I don't know if this Brandon IU situation even though I'm hearing that they pretty close to a deal Pittsburgh yeah oh with Pittsburgh I was heing I was I was he him staying in San Fran is kind of likely but the Pittsburgh either I feel like either think trying to trade to Pittsburgh yeah which would help obviously Pittsburgh a lot but that'll help a lot that actually help a ton actually um I heard somebody say I it may have been like Colin coher or something like that saying like maybe in a year or two they could potentially move off Debo and maybe George K uh probably you know I feel like it's kind of nothing wrong with moving off a couple of players before you actually have to it's but it's certain guys you can't let go like Trent Williams like if he's not there then I'm pretty sure they'll get that deal done though but I think the auk situation could be holding that up but uh I feel like I think we could win that game it's in San Francisco I think we can win they just play so good against us and I feel like after the first second quarter our confidence is just gone by that time uh but it'll just be hard in that game with no real running back room see for me like I'm as far anytime I see the ners on our schedule till we beat them I'm giving the ners a odd every time so like we it's been two playoff games in a regular season game especially the one last year in the regular season that was a big game and we just that was a Hu that was a big game we just didn't show it we got the doors blown off so like until we show something I'm gonna give them the the not over us every time they got a psychological Edge they proven to be more physical than us yeah like they got every every anything you want to give them Notch to us they've had it on us so I until until the Cowboys prove me otherwise I'mma always give the 49ers a notch over us um obviously the situations with some contracts is looking a little iffy um auk like you said Debo he seems to be kind of he's happy one day unhappy the next day I think that's more of like an ego thing where aayu can W to be the true number one guy but um Christian mcaffrey arguably the best running back in football so they got the weapons over there Brock p is he's he's proven to be a a serviceable quarterback I'm still not completely sold on him but he's proven to be like a he can with those weapons he can he can make him work so and that defense that defense is I mean it's it's just top Nots you know Fred Warner they they somehow keep a great middle linebacker over there whether it be you know Patrick Willis to Navaro Bowman to they just always got a linebacker over there that's Top Notch so they know how to draft linebacker for sure yeah so until we until the Cowboys show me otherwise I'mma always give the 49ers The Edge over us they gota they got to prove it to me you know another game game I might not give us the not in I know it sounds kind of crazy but I think Detroit might get us yeah I mean especially after last season when we we got that win over them like towards the end of the season um I'm still I'm leaning with the Cowboys on that one just because um I like like I think the battle of the trenches is gonna be big in that game I don't love Detroit's oine they got that one guy P him a lot they got a very competent o line underrated o line I think I think it's pretty good I think they got on paper the names on that line are really good but I think they tend to underperform and golf some a lot of games he's under a lot of pressure so and I like the pressure that we can put on teams with Michael Parsons Demarcus Lawrence um hopefully Mazy shows up this season but I'm not banking on it um just picked up we just picked up lville Joseph who I like a lot two Time pro bowler so and I like I like our secondary a lot and um one thing I've seen with with jerck with Jerry G in his career is that if you can confuse him he can turn into an interception machine so I know he had that streak where he wasn't throwing picks but if you can confuse him you can get him to throw so he can see some gos and he can throw some picks so I think um with Diggs back who's a b Hawk you know um obviously um bland is proven that he's a ball Hawk I like our safeties our linebackers I'm I'm still kind of in question about but hopefully if um if over overon is back healthy I think he'll be a good addition for us so I'm leaning towards us in that game I know they got Gibbs over there at running back but I think we can kind of lock that down so this I'm look I'm looking at at a stretch I'm looking at like one two three four five I'm looking like a seven game stretch I see Washington New York Cincinnati uh Carolina Tampa Bay Philly Washington like I'm in agreeance with you we will not win both of the Philly games that's just not taking place this year I feel like really offensively they just too talented like this is a potentially like I don't want to like G it but like they really could win like 13 games this season I feel like they got that much offensive Talent um I'm kind of leaning towards what you said what you had 12 and five I said 13 and four maybe 12 and five 12 and five we've been the last like two three seasons so I can see us being 12 and5 but I'm I'm a stamp 13 and four worst case scenario 10- six that's like worst case scenario but I'm looking at like these last seven games the one game the two games that we possibly could drop Cincinnati and Philly but the thing is about Cincinnati I feel like we've had a lot of success against Cincinnati yeah um even with a backup quarterback did Joe Baro play that game when Cooper rush started I can't remember bro did yeah he did play that game play right now I'm hearing a lot of stuff about his injury I think they said it's like a unique injury it's potentially it's it has the potential to not get better like that um you heard anything else about that no I heard the same yeah it's kind of and that's a tough injury to come back from obviously he it kept him out a lot of last season um so we'll see I just think with Joe burrow I think that offense is going to be the legit um even though they got Jamar Chase and T Higgins with these contract situations and they both want to get paid I think only one of them will end up getting paid but the the Cincinnati defense I think is not gonna be the same they lost chob AER who obviously used to be a cowboy they lost him I think that that secondary is weak they lost Jesse Bates who's he arguably the best safety in the league he went over to um the Falcons so I think they gonna be hurting in the secondary and we can kind of expose that um and not for nothing we ain't talked about him yet but Jaylen tobert I think a lot of people are high on him for us this year I think he can have a good season for us it's got to be the year that he breaks out right I feel like the opportunity at this point he got he gonna have a lot opportunity to break out too yeah and it's kind of like we kind of got our hands tied you know we got Brandon Cooks who's a little bit older and I mean he had a decent season last year but I don't think it was as great as where we wanted it to be and we never really had that good third option you know Gallop was kind of I seem like since that injury he he never really was the same receiver again um we don't really use kavante Turpin like we should I think Tober a lot of people are high on him coming off a training camp and what he's been looking like so and even in games last year he showed that he can he can get it done so I think Tober gonna get relied on heavily I think CD's Productions G to drop a little bit just because they're kind of giving Tober more of a shot so I'm looking forward to that for sure um yeah I I'm kind of want to hop on something I said earlier I feel like the running back room is weak that's just my personal opinion uh I'm I reserve the right to be wrong at all times I just feel like a lot of these games we going to really need to dominate like the line of scrimmage um especially on like on the defensive end um how you feel about the defensive line I like the dline um obviously spending a first round pick on on Mazy last year you hope that he pans out I'm not banking on it but I like I mean you got you know you got Parson who they might be moving around a little bit more off the line this year we'll see more as like they even talk about him playing middle linebacker which he can obviously do but I'm afraid of what they might do to our D line because you know Lawrence is our only main stay there um Lille Joseph we picked him up hopefully he can show out um and a lot of other guys like dor Armstrong he's kind of shown flashes of being able to be great losing Sam Williams for the season sucks because he was like I think he was next up I I liked him a lot so him being out for the season is going to hurt but um hopefully we can kind of we can bring some more production in and kind of hide that injury but um I think a lot it's GNA depend on Micah obviously Micah going into this season he wants to be the highest paid defensive player of all time I think he I think he should be granted with the market and things like that but I think this season he has to show his versatility whether it be playing like rushing the quarterback or playing linebacker out in coverage you got to show that he's that guy because we drafted him to be that kind of that Swiss army knife so he's got to show it this season I Know Dan Quinn had him kind of of rushing a lot and not really getting to show some of that versatility you know obviously now there's no Dan Quinn and you're in a contract year we need you I mean with this defense we need you more now than ever so he gotta he got to show up and really show that he can be that guy that can do everything because I think he I think he can do it I think he will show up but I think it's just time to prove it now so that you get that payday and you can Coast because you doing a lot of podcasting here and a lot of all these other things on the side but this is what matters the most is this defense and you anchoring this defense so you gotta show he can do it um let me uh let me jump off the cliff for a second real quick I got a theory I kind of just been watching how things have been going uh especially in in this offseason like I said in the beginning I know we got a lot of people to pay Michael Parson a probably reset the market Dak has the potential to reset the market lamb will get close to Justin Jefferson numbers he's GNA get more they're gonna pay him like a dollar more see I see how it's going I I don't think he should get more yeah C is gonna get like a dollar more than just that's just how they're gonna do it I can already see it I feel like Jerry Jones is kind of Darren McCarthy and Dak like show me that kind I'm not I don't want to use the term they they trying to line de and McCarthy up I don't want to necessarily use that but I feel like I'm not it's not farfetch though I kind of feel like this is I dare like show me just show me what show me show me what you got you know saying but I just feel like to CD situations kind of holding things up because like I said before the running back room is weak like I love Zeke I love everything we we that he's done for us but we ran Zeke into the ground that's just the reality of it uh we had a weak Rober receiv room at one point Zeke was the only really uh competent offensive player we had so and Dak really hadn't come into his own just yet so I feel like now is the time if you do want 60 or you want to reset the market I feel like Dak is going to have to his best offensive uh production as a cowboy this season I I don't know if they'll if they'll move off of him I don't I don't know I don't know if Jerry and Stephen got the balls to do that to be honest yeah I mean it's in that situation starting I mean one don't get me started on McCarthy he should have been after that playoff game he should have been out of there I don't know how he kept his job I was shot yeah but he should have been gone with Dak if I'm Dak I can understand like if he gets paid and he's the highest paid quarterback understand it because it's the market and you also the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys but if he if you look at history and you really want to win you would take the Tom Brady route and you would take a little bit less so that you can keep more on your roster like Tom Brady had Elite defenses because he always took a little bit of his money and know left it to the side for the team to use on the defense and I mean I'm not telling nobody what to do with their money but if I'm Dak and I really want to get the job done I've already had a big contract I might take a little bit less to where I can keep guys like cidd lamb mik Parson's happy to where they getting their money and I've already got mine plus I'm still getting another big contract it's still a top 10 if if I take a little bit less I'm still gonna be a top 10 paid quarterback but I'm also helping keep my roster intact so we'll see what he does um if I'm projecting I don't think he's gonna take a pay cut I think he's going to get that the full amount of money he can get and become that highest paid quarterback which I mean more power to you but you gotta then then deal with what comes with the rest of that roster because you taking up over a quarter of the cap space then you ain't got much left to work with especially having guys like cidd lamb and Michael who haven't had their big contracts yet they ain't taking no pay cuts they getting the maximum they can get so the the second back is always the biggest back well for the most part for the most part I feel like a non quarter like a non-quarterback that second B like after the one after the rookie deal that's the one that you not you're not playing like look at CD he's not showing up like look at Jamar Chase he's not playing right now like uh Brandon naay like this is especially at like some of these skill positions like like I said non quarterback like back receiver like cornerback we just saw um what's the quarterback for Atlanta he got like 81 million uh AJ Terrell AJ ter he just got 81 Mill so it's like it's the second bag you know everybody aims that's the bag but yeah and if I'm Dak I'm not I'm if as a fan I'm not mad at Dak if he does get the max get the most money because he was a fourth round draft pick and he obviously as a fourth round draft pick you're not making a ton of money so I'm not mad at you if you feel like yo I gotta I gotta make this up somehow so I get he's already had one big contract but if he decid to take another huge Max contract I'm not mad at him even as a fan I'm not mad at him but as a looking at the whole team I'm be like damn we really could have used that money to get the rest of the roster right so I'm cool either way I I could never be mad at Dak for taking that money but I could also be very elated if he decides like yo I really want to get a Super Bowl and get this monkey off my back and change the narrative on the Dallas Cowboys and so I mean we'll see but I'm not gonna be mad at him either way I would never put the blame on him I I think um he's just kind of doing what's best for him so we'll see I mean in theory like you can't blame him for the position that he plays and they pay quarterbacks differently like we know how this goes like they this is this is something this is the high this is the highest paid position in football so in theory you can't be mad at a a man for not taking a discount from a billionaire you know so we get that but the conversations that will come after that will be interesting because it's like I don't want to necessarily say his contract will handicap us but his contract can handicap us no no you gotta say it's gonna handicap us it's just because of the situation we in with having to pay cidd having to pay Micah who are at the top of the league set contracts you know what I'm saying like yeah so it's the Dallas Cowboys in there at they're at the they just like CD just had arguably one of the greatest receiving years ever so you have to give him top money michah Parsons is the one so you have to give him the money so it's just the timing is just terrible like with us having to pay those two guys and pay Dak is just it's tough so it is what it is shout out to my bro Chris uh we used to have a lot of conversations about because we just love the Cowboys so we were the guys that kind of like a few a couple of years ago we were saying it's cool now but like we gonna get expensive in a couple of years and like that that time is actually in it's present because you know like we don't just have this is the downside having a lot of talent because we one of the best drafting teams in the NFL and this is like a by this is a byproduct of us having a room an embarrassment of riches you got a top 10 quarterback that's potentially getting ready to reset the market we got a top five receiver and a top five defensive player like all these are all reset contracts nobody's getting ready to take a discount for Jerry if anybody took a discount it probably would be that but I don't expect that to I'm kind of with you like there's no way he's declining that uh the 60 because because if you look at it look at the quarterbacks that's already making more than de like the Lamar Jacksons the Justin Herbert the the Trevor Lawrence in Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence's case and tua's case that gota even better than D yeah like Dak sitting back like from a production standpoint okay what what have they done like I was top I was top MVP voting last year you know what I'm saying so that kind of they go D in his agent go in with leverage already because two first playoff game was horrible he couldn't do nothing like they was in the Co in cold weather it was horrible Justin Herbert he was up against the Jaguars in the playoffs but Lawrence show he came back and won that playoff game but I guess Lamar Jackson two MVPs Joo a Super Bowl appearance so you can't really say too much about those guys but uh other than that like he got all the leverage for real so then even more so if you the Cowboys like the reason why Dak has even more leverage because if you're the Cowboys what you gonna do let Dak walk and then you stuck in a situ ation where you got this great roster but no quarterback and then you looking like you don't you're not going to put yourself in a situation because hitting on a quarterback in the draft is not guaranteed like you either have to have a top five pick or get lucky like we did and get a Dak in the fourth round like it's not really it's really tough to evaluate these quarterbacks these days and I don't think any team wants to be in a position where you like leaving it up to chance because a lot of the stuff in the NFL draft these days a lot of it is Chance like look at Trey Lance who's on our roster right now he was drafted top five draft pick thinking he's going to be the guy for the 49ers and now he didn't even make it out of his rookie contract he's with us right now so it's a really it's a really slippery slope when it comes to the NFL draft and these quarterbacks and you don't want to be in purgatory where you you banking on the draft and hoping that you hit on the right guy it's like hitting a jackpot you can't really you can't Bank on that it's crazy it you say that I got a couple examples too like like and I like I said I reserve the right to be wrong I like Bryce young but if the Panthers could do it over again CJ strad look like the better quarterback as of now now you know saying even we saw Jos Rosen get drafted by the Cardinals 12 months later he was gone because KY Murray was coming up like like you said a lot of these teams we we not the problem is what a lot of Cowboys fans don't realize we don't have the draft picks or we don't never have the um that place in the draft to always draft that top five that top 10 is too good we're not going to be a top five drafting team we winning 12 games a year we picking at the bottom of the draft every time so we not g to spend a bottom a top what like a low 20 on a quarterback like we GNA do that like it's going to be like another that you know third fourth round pick like we never we never bad enough to have a high draft pick like your Carolina or you know so but yeah the the losses I think I got bro I'm G be honest I think we losing to Cleveland I think we one they gonna get us I think the Ravens are going to get us I think the 49ers are going to get us I think Houston is GNA get us and I think the Eagles are gonna get one so that's my that's my 12 and five so I got I got Cleveland Baltimore San Fran Houston and Philly I think those are our five losses I think everybody else we pretty much get it sound like we got a lot of the same teams I got I had Houston San Fran the Eagles and then I had who the other one I had had the Ravens too the Ravens yeah so those are the four I had for sure beating us all right so every win guarantee give me a upset alert who who like say if we was to get a upset like how okay like the Cardinals game I know we had a lot offensive line injuries that game so uh we couldn't really run the ball how we wanted to so that's how that's why it looked like that but like give me who could potentially be like this year's Arizona Coral loss upset I think Washington for sure could be one I think that commander game could be one and then I also think Tampa Bay because Tampa Bay they got a really good roster um it's not gonna be sweet yeah I think I I like they roster a lot um obviously Baker Mayfield He's kind of up and down so you never really know what you going to get with him but I like the receivers they got over there are nice and that roster in general is just really good and then I don't know if I would call it upset but upset but Atlanta that that team they got they got high expectations in Atlanta so it's gonna be interesting in the past that would be an upset if we lost to them but I don't think this year it would necessarily be an upset but um I could see that game being a really good game and US losing that game who who would you have wanted to see on the scale me personally I was kind of surprised they didn't run it back with Green Bay I feel like a Sunday night game Green Bay would have been like what the doctor order you know what I'm saying I really feel like that would have been that would have been good uh What teams would you have like to see us played this year I wanted Green Bay I wanted um the Dolphins because we lost to them last year um I wanted the Dolphins back on our roster just because Tyreek Hill Tua Dak CD I like that Dynamic and then also I I would have lik I would have liked to see us versus the Chiefs in Mahomes again just because I feel like Cowboys Chiefs those are two kind of like almost like America's teams at this point so I would have liked to see the Chiefs on our roster obviously they can't do it we can't have every game every year because I mean it just is what it is but I would have lik to seen momes and Dak duel it out um again this year so those are the three for sure I wanted to see how you feel about the Friday game that's they kind of threw me off a little bit I seen they got uh they got Ravens I didn't like that game I know they kind of wanted to see how like with the Derrick Henry Factor how they look against Kansas City I wanted to see Kansas City versus Houston week one first game because if you look at last year they had Kansas City against this team in Detroit okay this team is they knocking at the door and come to find out they was who I thought they could be which is a pretty good team because they made it they almost made it I kind of wanted them to run that back with Houston oh this is the team like as of right now I feel like they're the most team with the most hype as far as like the New Kids on the Block you know they got this amazing quarterback on his second year this amazing receiver room so I kind of want them to do that again but you know I'm not mad at the match up yeah I like um do we do we have a Friday game I don't think we do do we I don't know I know I know week one is chiefs no it's uh it's uh Eagles Packers I think that's gonna be an amazing game uh but I don't know if we have a Friday game though yeah I don't know if we do but I do like our um our Prime Time games I like them a lot obious we got the Giants which I feel like we play it used to be every season first year the first game of the year we used to play them so now at least is week four but I like that Prime Time game then obviously we got Pittsburgh we got San Francisco which that's a no-brainer we was gonna get San Francisco on that and then we got a Tampa Bay Houston is Houston does Houston count I don't know that's that's a Monday night yeah that's the Monday night game it's Houston so yeah we got I mean obviously every year we're going to have the most Prime Time games just because of who we are and the amount of viewership we bring in but I like I like those games that they chose um but Houston especially now that they back in relevance bringing us on a Monday night against Houston is gonna be huge so I might have to pop up to that game let me I might look at my schedule see if I can go to that game because that's a good Houston joint yeah that's a good one I might have I think Parson and stra was talking trash too that game that's gonna be that's gonna be one of them hype games man everybody gonna get up for that's gonna be fire that's that's really gonna be a fire game I can't wait yeah especially if we both got decent records by the time that game comes around like that's gonna be man that they gonna be talking about Super Bowl preview and this and that so that's going to be a good game I might have to come home for that game I might have to do I can see it they'll just title it uh the team Texas best team which team is the best team in Texas oh yeah you know they gonna gas it I can see that yeah that's G gonna be dope uh you got anything else about this about this schedule or about the oh well how you feel about um zimma Zimmerman I like him I like him a lot I like him when he was our when he was our coordinator back in the day um talk about Mike Zimmer right yeah Zim new DC yeah yeah I liked him back in the day when he was our DC um I don't mind having him now I think he'll I mean obviously Minnesota when he was like the he was the head coach they had some good years they had some up and down years but they were pretty decent for the most part so I think him getting back to where he's best at which is defense will help us out a lot um I didn't like seeing Dan Quinn go I would I would have rather has kept him I thought he was the next head coach and waiting for us um I mean I just wanted McCarthy gone I wanted Dan Quinn to have McCarthy's job so it is what it is um Dan Quinn got his head coaching job but I like Zimmerman I think he's going to be good for us um I think we got the weapons on defense for him to really work and kind of scheme some things and have some exotic different different looks against teams we got some versatility so I think he'll I think he'll do good with this roster we got over here I think I kind of want to uh double back on the your McCarthy take I kind of think it was a situation where if we let him go who's the replacement I don't really know if they had like a true candidate that they wanted to bring in at the time uh I know you don't think Dan Quinn was a replacement that's what I thought it was the whole time I thought it was Dan Quinn I like Dan Quinn I just feel like from the offense from an offensive standpoint I don't know if that would have set us back even though we we well I don't know I'm not really sold on the offensive Talent this season I don't really know what's gonna be our identity going into this season with Dan Quinn it probably would have been a we would had more of a defensive identity um but that that could be possible was I tripping on did they mention Shawn Peyton at one point was Tri they did yeah that was the rumor was Shawn Peyton yep for sure the rumor at one point that's rum for like years though so I wouldn't mind I would have loved to have seen that not for nothing though yeah I would like that as well would have been dope too what's what's your worst case scenario record uh worst case would be like you said ear I think like 10 and seven would probably be worst case scenario 10 and seven maybe like 10 and seven 11 and uh 11 and six right there I don't I think our schedule is pretty especially for our team it's pretty um preferable so we should be okay I don't think playoffs I know obviously on first te they always say are the cowo was closer to the playoffs or close to the Super Bowl I think for sure we're going to make the playoffs I don't think it's a question I think us and the Eagles are going to be you know one and two in the division um but I think yeah I think 10 11 wins is like our floor then our our ceiling should be like 13 1 I don't want to say 14 because that just sounds crazy but 13 14 should really be the ceiling 14 14 was 14 SED real good last year I'm Not Gon I'm G be honest bro like I drunk the Kool-Aid last year I was because it was the defense I was like bro I think our defense will be like I thought it was gonna be like legendary when Trey Von when tray Von went down like I was like man but shout out to my guy vaj Lombardi that's like the dude I watch for the Cowboys content he pretty much said it like the second secondary is so deep like you don't this is this is the year you don't want to get hurt or like you might you lose your spot not Trayvon uh of course but like just so deep like um we got a lot of secondary talent for sure um even Jordan Lewis like I love Jordan Lewis at the nickel bag like I really love I love our secondary bro I'm G be honest um yeah yeah but yeah I don't really have anything uh else for the for the schedule you got anything Cowboys related you want to no I think um I think it's gonna be an interesting season I'm looking forward to it it's a lot of like I said I think the injuries and I want to see how some of these young guys play I think like our old line with those rookies coming in that's gonna be starting I think they're gonna be really good like Cooper I think Cooper um Cooper B BB I think he should start I think he's a monster um I think especially him replacing like remember back in the day we had Travis Frederick at Center and then he had that that uh disease that popped up and he couldn't play no more I think he's a perfect replacement for that I think um overshown coming back from injury towards ACL in the preseason last year yeah I like having Eric Kendricks at at linebacker brought him in that's a good free agency pickup I'm just looking forward to seeing this defense on the field and seeing if we can improve because in that playoff game last year we looked like we never played defense in our lives so that way and on offensive from offensive standpoint another year uh well Tyler Smith has a year under his belt now I want to see how he grows from that he'll have a bigger role on the offensive line with Tyron Smith gone so um ready to see man this was uh off the the court episode one Dallas Cowboy scheduled breakdown man if y'all like the off the court series I could got a range of things I could talk
