England Defender Kieran trippy has announced his retirement from International Football do you think just ever a quickly before I move on we're going to talk about Lee carsley I'll ask you first Troy do you think when a player retired from International Football it's because he feels he can't get to that level or he's had a conversation with the manager and the manager said I'm not going to pick you no I think for someone like trips it's more of a it's taking a toll on his body I would say would you would you agree with that I I reckon so yeah I mean he's had a great International career hasn't he 52 is it or 54 caps he's probably looking at the talent coming through as well and thinking like I've done it and like he says he's probably thinking can I play longer for Newcastle now he's not young what is he 34 yeah 33 34 so 33 yeah came into it late as well didn't he but he's burst onto the scene at a later age there was a lot of eyebrows raised when Newcastle signed him and and I think he surprised a lot of people I think on even that situation mate cuz he looks like he's was involved now he's not the captain now he looks like he wants to leave but the manager says he doesn't want to leave it could be all of that just playing the part like I just want to focus on on my family and Gabby can tell better than me but it's a lot of travel people don't understand the travel and staying away from Ben no involved Ben wh for all that travel but I think as well like you said there as well he's looking at him liento started the season ahead of him now he's in the England squad he won't be happy with that as well but to play for England 54 times what an outstanding achievement for him and there's so many young right backs coming through look at the squad you got you know Rico liis coming through as well Trent still available ree James will come back car Walker will come back into it so sometimes you want to retire as well rather than not be picked absolutely that's what I'm asking yeah but he does play that role he can play right or left back yeah but would would TR not be in a situation now where after the summer he's saying I only want to play right back yes can England manager I'm curious your views when a manager comes in in this case Lee Carley and is the interim manager so he's got two games we don't know if only two or more do you think he could make decisions and changes just because he's thinking I've got two games to impress I think this manager is coming in thinking this is a trial he does well in these two games he knows the history with sa getting a job we in a Spanish manager getting it from being under 23 manager Lee Cary for me will be the next England manager a full time I really believe he will this squad of players I'm going to let him down he's going to have his ideas spoke to jolian about him Jolan Lear he said that he's like really good coach he's No Nonsense No Nonsense as well so I think he's going to have his ideas and if he wants to bring in these young players that he's brought into the squad they do well no one's going to say anything Troy do you do you think it matters that he h he hasn't managed a big Club no disrespect but and he hasn't won honors at Club level well looky he's replacing same thing does doesn't matter so I think yeah but but Southgate didn't win anything but no what I I I'll be really these things and we never win we get England managers um English managers Italian managers doesn't matter the best of the best and we keep falling short so why not give him a chance I think I think if you asked anyone in football Lee car's name is right up there when it comes to being a coach he was also getting links with the island job and apparently turned that down when he was doing so well with the 21s or 23s it's called now so I just think he's going to do simply what gab said I think he's going to go in going to do well with the first couple right we'll keep it going and then before you know it he'll be in like Gareth was for eight years or so I'm excited to see the start of football as well because not everyone's going to know what start of football plays and like he says with Palmer and folden being on the squad as midfielders you never know could be two t with One S you don't know how he's going to play I think that's how it should be perfect okay well let's have a listen from the England intering manager Le carsley he named his first three L Squad ahead of the September Nations League qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Finland he spoke to the media earlier on today and discussed some of his selections the idea was to to hit the ground running um you know big day today was getting the squad out making sure that you know we've got a nice balance um really really mindful of of the how well the the players have done in the past obviously getting to get to another final just just missing out so it was it was important for me that I didn't feel like the squad was getting dismantled um but we were adding a few players around it obviously the players that that that the from the summer that that Miss out um you know they're obviously going to be still a massive part of the future and I very much see this squad for September rather than you know you know the rest of the campaign five of the team that won the Euros with you last year are included now how important why is it so important for you to have a core group of players that you know really well well they're in because of their ability uh not not because what they've done in the summer you know where they currently are as well is important to me that that they're doing currently well at their clubs um they've all had really really strong starts of the season um obviously Cole is still there as well and Anthony and Levi that that I've worked with in the past that were all the summer others you know there generally um it leave it does leave it does leave signs of of success when when when players can go through the system and and Gareth and Steve were brave enough as well to push them up and and to put them in and give them give them a chance so um they've all them players that you spoke about there are uh highly talented they understand how I work um you know the big thing for me on this Camp as well is that energy that the and that enthusiasm and and the I think what they'll bring will will be that will be really important for this group yeah a couple of players who had to be really mature when they weren't taken to Germany um in Harry McGuire and and Jack greish are in the squad this time round talk me through your thinking there well I think Harry's um a really important player for this this team he's he's done well in the past um I think he's he's got really good leadership skills I think we've got we've got three or four young center backs in the squad which he'll be a really good example for along with Jon Stones so I think you know as well as on the pitch we'll need his leadership skills off the pitch I think there's a there's definitely a knack to to playing International Football um there's and and sometimes you need um good senior players around you to to help the the younger ones especially so I'm looking forward to to to working with Harry obviously Jack I've never worked with him before but I know a lot about him um especially his ability um I think he's he's probably one of the players that we spoke about earlier that's maybe got a points prove within within the squad so um you could understand why he would be upset for being left out you know that's a sign of a top player is uh coming off the back of the Season as well that that c had so yeah I'm looking forward to to meeting the pair of on on on Tuesday I suppose I suppose Kyle Walker as well U Kyle has been un looking not to play a minute so far this season so you know he's going to be a big part of the future for us and and what we do moving forward um you
