[Music] welcome back to the chuck and troop show i'm your boy what's up players i'm chuck how we doing i know how you're doing bro imagine sitting here two weeks ago and your boys are in the final four i've never shot coach k and i want that ass coach k i want that ass saturday baby i bet you do man man if anything peters i'll root for your boys any day of the week shout out saint peters though excellent run awesome entertainment and go jersey yes jersey all the way showing that jersey pride through and through 100 chuck the uh there is so much craziness to example off-season i mean we barely had time to catch up with any of it but we're gonna kind of wrap it all into a bow today we're gonna do our pre-draft nfl power rankings and we're gonna break it up you know bound ten our mid-tier teams top ten dude i don't know about cheaper one i was trying to put this together i i was like moving this team here and this team there and it's like what about this team like it's like all the changes this offseason i don't know how anyone does it i i think it's going to be one of the most competitive seasons coming up um i was thinking about it all day as well only thing that i probably we had in common was thinking about the texans being last i think we can all agree on that the texans are the last place team yes yes so going into our bottom ten um lister right here um i'll list a few things that stand out to me now i'll my bottom three teams so talk about the texans uh young team they're still in way to rebuilding phase they're finally a first round pick this year um they got a long ways to go it's davis mills even the answer you know yeah i mean the stanford man davis mills i mean let's see if they give him another shot maybe they test free agency i don't i don't know what that's up to that organization i think they will but i don't think they have many other choices at this point um but looking at some of these other teams you know um i look at the seahawks you know i have it at number 30. i was going to ask you about that 30. so the seahawks you know unlike a lot of these teams who are either rebuilding a young quarterback the seahawks are actively trying to lose they got rid of russ and the cut bobby wagner and this team was already pretty bad with those two guys there from the majority of season including wagner and russ playing like 10 games what are they going to be like without them those are two leaders i i mean hopefully like they can maybe pick up a little where they left off like maybe go 6 and 11 or maybe 7 and 10 this next season because i don't really see them doing as well without when they lose all those main pieces they still have got pete carroll i mean maybe kale makes a difference i mean he is that big morale coach um i'm surprised he's still keeping with him i guess he's got does he have one more you on his contract i don't know if he's going to retire he's got it he's got to retire because i mean the seahawks they they could be 30. they could end up 31 for all we know i mean they really don't have a quarterback are they going to sign a quarterback like are there any quarterbacks that want to play for the seahawks dk metcalf just left on an island like i mean it is a it's a tough situation to look at too out to andre diggs though yeah but uh bottom ten i do want to i do want to say this two nfcs teams in the bottom ten doesn't surprise me giants and commanders obviously the giants we're lucky enough that we don't put the giants at 31 they could be 31 for all we know this year but we're hopeful we're hopeful fans yeah a little bit but the thing is what's interesting is you count one two three four five six seven teams from the nfc in the bottom ten and then the records might not reflect that you know they could easily pick up more wins because they're playing weaker competition but all the talent has moved over to the afc so like you know the teams like the jaguars jets and texans like those are young teams with pieces but i don't know how they're going to compete yeah jaguars and texans in the same division i mean maybe they can both share wins and losses off of that but you're totally right i don't know how they can compete with other afc teams across the league or even like sniff a playoff race so that is that is a good point um saints at 22 um i maybe they could stretch to the middle i don't know maybe something could happen but definitely the bucks win that division and then the falcons too so another nfc south team so it doesn't look like that seems even good but yeah nc south will be like by far the worst division this year um one last note i'd like to make on the bomb 10 unless you have anything but i have detroit at number 25 and they're going to be a lot higher than most public vacations and listen i saw the culture they were building last year and i read something interesting that most their guys resigned last year even guys like charles harris who could have commanded more money elsewhere because they believed in this organization and apparently i i kind of believe it too i saw a heart there playing in every game despite the lack of talent and i love dan campbell as a coach and i love dancing i do agree with that i love dan campbell if they get a stun at number two they could you know they could sneak in as a wildcard team i'm not putting it out of the question i could agree with you there they're going to be in hard knocks we just heard this weekend they will be on hard knocks which is pretty interesting but i mean out of any team you think they have not picked the lines but but either way it's going to be awesome it's going to be entertaining yeah i i usually don't watch that but i'm going to watch this year it's going to be a great show especially with danny campbell running that check out jared goff yes shout out jared goff sorry it's tough tough to beat jared goff after watching the rams on the super bowl so hopefully he uses that as fuel and puts the lines in a winning record maybe dude yeah so we're going to go on to the tougher part so we're going to go 11 through 21. so these are the mid-tier teams and this is where it gets really like iffy as in like okay like a lot of these i put the teams that i didn't put in my top 10 or were the teams that were you know they're good but there's a there's some question marks in there um mid-tier very very myths here um i'm gonna go i'm gonna start off with i have at number 19 i have the cardinals despite them you know having the best record and i fell for a good portion last season but then falling off um we have the questions about kyler in the off-season he doesn't seem very happy with his situation but then he makes sense the fact that they didn't really make a lot of improvements to defense including losing chandler jones their star pass rusher and you know every year teams make the playoffs and then miss it the following year i really think the cardinals are going to be one of those i teams i could agree i could agree because i mean just like you said uh kyla murray being so difficult right now i don't know what's going on with that he's being a little [ __ ] yeah literally the biggest [ __ ] out of all of them shout out short kings uh short kings um and i got here vikings at 18. they are a mid-tier team i do agree with that you can see the vikings have an explosion there i mean they still have uh dalvin cook literally runs over the entire league he could have an explosive year again and then their only question is uh the quarterback cousins see if he takes it to the next level and takes command of the entire team he's the x factor 100 cousins is the guy he's the guy um i didn't know what to do about the dolphins so dolphins uh they were close to being playoff team last year um the tyree pickup puts him in there harry i mean the tight pickup puts him into equation but is is too it like does he have what it takes to get him the ball and the other thing is they signed a left tackle but they're gonna they're probably gonna need a little more o-line help because that o-line was absolutely atrocious uh and factored in fact that the afc is so loaded i it's just i can't especially if these other teams i can't really fathom how they sneak in to like a seven a six or a seven spot unless they're like absolute elite defense elite defense and they have to play their division elite too because i mean the bill's top team um patriots they might be another good team again they still got the greatest coach of all time coaching them and they got a young mac jones who took over the league by storm as a rookie facilitating his offense and not being over um committing turnovers and just playing lackluster he actually played really well so it is going to be tough for the dolphins to definitely like make a run at anything um i'd like to add 13 ravens this very interesting look i mean the nf the afc north might be the toughest division besides the afc west the nfc the afc north excuse me afc north might be the toughest division in football right now you got lamar jackson for the ravens the browns they just picked up sean watson we don't know what's going on with there so far but still baker mayfield takes over they do uh chub to kareem two for one punch the whole season that could still work for them steelers steelers might be the worst team in that division but still they have a solid defense championship defense at most and then you know the bengals just taking it up with joe and it's tough so ravens at 13 they might be 20 because they have such a tough schedule with their division yeah i mean the thing i like about the ravens is very well coached team and their team was obliterated by injuries last year they had no chance to complete with the roster they had they got to eight and three and then they lost marlon humphrey and then lamar jackson and then it was just kind of over like they overcame all that and was still looking good i never put this raven's team into question um i have them above the browns for a couple reasons what's going on quarterback i know deshaun watts is there but will he be suspended if he is the million-dollar question if that 230 minutes about jesus if he is jacoby brissette's gonna start because why else would they sign baker's gun um and then how does he work how does the organization feel how does your organization feel about playing you know playing under him um that's i just have a lot of questions about this like the mentality is brown's team you know i think there's a lot of strong leaders at quarterback and coach in the afc there's with the how low the afc is there's so many factors that go into it so i'm unsure about the browns but like i said like it's going to move a lot i think the giraffe could help yeah we all got to see what that what happens in the draft i agree all right any um anything else about the mid-tier teams i i just had one thing raiders at 11. they made a lot of off-season moves maybe they could be in the top ten but like i said about the nfc the afc north afc west probably another maybe the toughest division of football as well so we'll see about that yeah it's very true uh the raiders couldn't move down but i think their team might end up being better than what their record willing to be just because of the schedule yeah it's gonna be tough regardless um but with the signs they made with chandler jones and bringing devonta adams and how well this team played last year i think what's really going to come down to is is josh mcdaniels going to give that spark that rich passage had gave because when rich basashi came in he gave life to this team that was lacking talent in certain areas now the raiders have the talent book to make the coaching to go with it that's 100 well uh we're going to get to our top 10 after the break plus some dubs and l's that might give you a little slap in the video and say hey here we go up next what's crack of lack in my lack of wagons how we doing we're back we are back uh more power rankings i know you can't wait to see our top ten but you know we got it's segment time you know what the deal is our favorite segment doubts or else i don't know what it's gonna be i'll start us off my l was this past weekend and i'm sorry to put this young man on blast produced seven foot four zac they lost to the saint peters um university of new jersey city new jersey uh by one point in the sweet 16. now coming into the game i thought purdue had the size and strength and i thought they would beat them by at least 10 because i know st peters they play hard but i'm watching the entire game and they locked this seven foot dude zac edie down and they i think he at one point edie was sitting on the bench and the camera went over to him and you could see him questioning his entire career his entire 19 year old career dude why did he keep why did he keep focusing on him what's the deal i think it like by i think by like two minutes in st peter's figured out oh they're gonna give it to the big men all we have to do is triple team them they'll make a dumb pass we'll intercept it purdue had like 20 turnovers 20 turnovers they couldn't facilitate anything when they got it into the low post edie was missing shots left and right i felt bad for his seven foot ass dude i literally felt bad for him yeah he was getting bullied by a bunch of jersey boys big big l and especially how north carolina played against in the next game like looks even worse for purdue but especially for that eating how many rebounds did he get like three i didn't he barely had any any how is that even impossible i would be like i'd just be plucking balls out of air like i don't know i don't know how it happens um listen um don't take this the wrong way but i'm gonna give the the l to the women's attorney and i could pretty much give this out every year i'm like listen so there was there is commercials that disrespect there are these commercials about how nobody's watching the women's tournament and that more people should and i i get what their point is these ladies work very hard all season you know and they deserve as much spotlight as the guys but i agree when look if you don't know the final four this year three one seat and oh a two c uconn who would have guessed it who would have guessed it it's it's so predictable it's like anyone can follow bracket and get the final four correct but this happens every single year and that's why no one tunes into tournament i mean cool they got a 10 seat until the eight but like we got like we've had 11 season the final four like multiple times we have 15 seed run up all the way to the elite eight that just it's women's basketball is just so top heavy and then when it's so top heavy it becomes like watching french soccer and psg winning all the time that's why nobody's watching it's nothing to do with people don't want to watch the girls it's the con there's no competition level of competition i mean it's always i think that's always been the answer i feel like we should have filled out a bracket this year and like do do they do brackets for uh ncaa women's tournament do you get like they do you wouldn't know that because espn doesn't tell you yeah i want to know how many perfect brackets were filled out for the women's tournament if if there are any if there are any perfect brackets for the women's tournament i would love to know if they are because i right man so moving on to the dubs section uh i'm going to go into a story about i don't know if you saw this not from the celtics game uh but mark is smart he's inbounding the ball and he gets a punch from this a little man right behind him yeah who's that oh that's jason tatum's son now when i first saw this i was like uh why isn't this guy controlling his kid but apparently uh jason tatum's and marcus mario they're him and his son are boys essentially so i saw that and i was like oh that's a cute moment but you know the dub goes to his son for a power move you know yeah just keep punching a player on the court although not brutally but like you know and getting away with it i mean that kid's gonna have memories man for a lifetime a major doubt for him oh well talking about hitting that's funny you said something like that don't tell me what is it going to be i mean everyone's been talking about it for the past 48 hours um little altercation between will smith and chris rock at the oscars probably the best thing the oscars have ever had in their entertainment uh industry with the awards i didn't know the oscars was on exactly i didn't know it was on last night either my mom apparently was watching it and i was like what are you watching she's like the oscars and i'm like oh okay just went back to bed next thing i know i wake up phone is absolutely blowing up the radio is talking about a non-stop on my way to work that chris rock took a slap punch from will smith and when i watched the footage i think chris rock absolutely took it like a beast he took it like a man straight up and you see in the video when will smith walks over you can see chris rock kind of like lean in he's like oh i'm about to get it and that makes me kind of think was it kind of scripted it very well could be i mean they look it's got everyone talking about the oscars so it worked um but the fact that chris rock didn't even touch his face after like i don't know it that kind of looked like it hurt it had to look like it hurt because will smith is sick like six one he's a big dude that's a big dude chris rock's like 5 10 150 like in a boxing match will smith like probably knocks him out but chris rock took like an absolute man like absolute man on television just took the took the slap didn't fight back anything new knew he was on national television i think will smith look soft for doing that right it's definitely an elephant will smith but definitely more of a dove more about chris rock uh insane though and i probably you know you know what happened right after uh will smith probably got laid right after he did that too so holy [ __ ] i hope you did i hope you got lucky i really hope i hope you got laid um but i do like i would like to besides the chris rock will smith incident we'll be talking about this for a month for months i know everybody will definitely uh i'd like to go on to something more heartwarming um remember christian erickson yeah played into soccer he i forgot what team he was playing so he was playing for denmark in though in the world cup for the euros and fainted on the pitch i mean he was successful at tottenham like prominent soccer player and it was a scary moment he had to he had to be lifted on stretch right to the ambulance and he was perfectly fine about a year year later just heard um on this past weekend uh played for denmark and he's playing and two minutes in scores a goal that is like has to be an amazing feeling to go through what we what he went through and to come right back on the field no fear um just pure perseverance to come back and score a goal two minutes into the game the first game that he gets back that's a great sign that's just that's an awesome sign i love that i i think he put it perfectly i mean well deserving of an extra doubt and congrats to him shout out to erickson man keep doing what you're doing hopefully it continues with success but speaking of success we're into our top 10 the nfl power rankings uh it's been challenging enough sorting out the top 10 and still even challenging enough i love this list i love what you did with this list i really do honestly do awesome so we're going to start we're going to break it up in two so we're going to go to 6 through 10 and go into a little more detail we're going to go team biking so starting off with number 10 the cowboys yeah obviously hate the cowboys but they're going to be in the soft division again they're bringing back a lot of their star players on offense and defense and obviously that defense is young and only getting better um are they do i look at him as a super bowl contender not really but i think there is a path for them to get to super bowl into the nfc i don't like to say anything good about the cowboys but one thing i will say good they do i think have the future defensive player of the year micah parsons absolute force to be reckoned with he plays any position he wants he's fast strong reads plays knows what he's doing on the fly i can't see the cowboys like not winning the nfc east but definitely i could see them winning the nfc you said like a nine and eight record true but there hasn't been a backpack as the east winner in a long long time so keep that in mind maybe it gets broken this year but that is uh speaking of stat uh the wide receivers sort of packaged they got nobody yeah uh his boy um what the hell uh valdez skankling is on my boys the chiefs so they don't have him anymore who they have allison geronimo like or alice in jerome like like what are they gonna throw to uh tanyan i guess tonya who blocks most of the time they don't have anybody maybe they'll finally draft someone but like they might become a run first team i mean imagine having t higgins instead of jordan love stop everything exactly uh we'll see what happens there i mean like i still got rogers reading mvp he's still i guess he still wants to sling it but we'll see how he does surprisingly the third the third team in the afc west in the stack division but the broncos who already had a good young competitive roster last year now they got russell wilson where's where's the limit from so they went from they went from bottom mid-tier now they're at top tier with that move i mean i hope russell wilson's just as excited as i am for this football season because they're going to come to you know they're going to come to arrowhead stadium for the chiefs and they're definitely going to give them a run for their money because the broncos are 100 back they have an astounding defense on the secondary um they got good they have good solid wide receiving core judy tim patrick um noah font who just tears it up he's fast as hell and they and they run it too they run it they run it well better than probably any team because they got um melvin gordon coming in and then the other punch the second year man javon uh javonte williams and he's gonna be a beast i love davonte williams he might be my he's so electric and he breaks tackles so easily exactly so i'm excited to see him and this has offense work uh but you know they had so many rookies playing last year filling in for both injuries and you know there were spots open and all those guys played pretty well for where they were and now they get another year with the leadership of russell wilson exactly i like broncos as a wild card uh the the 49ers are next and you know we know about the 49ers like the offense you know they got the playmakers with debo um kiddle uh defense fred warner uh tracy joseph sermon's gonna come back certainly i hope i hope he has a good year but you know the 49ers could really be anywhere within that like 2 to 15 range really depends on what goes on quarterback so we know troy lance they believe in him and i think he's he's got potential for a bloke season this year but you know he's still inexperienced he should be their guy he should be their guy what's going on with jimmy g he has been moved he could still be the starter so there's a lot of flux there hot take he was on a subway commercial jimmy recently subway commercial maybe they're going to give him a contract 49 because i don't know hopefully they get one of the point stars one time yeah two for one deal with him handsome ass yes g stands won't be loving where we rank them we make them all the way down at number six but um you know the hoops contract is finally starting to show its effects because they had a deal tyra kill away and especially in a tough division and conference like we can't take um their best weapon losing them losing their best weapon along with calcium getting a year older like is what's the whole look going to be like without elite weapons as opposed to whatever we've never seen it yeah it's a it's a lot on my home's shoulder shoulders um the defense too with the chiefs like they really gotta they gotta sign some corners they lost to davious ward um hoping they sign tyrann math you do a big contract or at least give them something maybe a franchise tag but we'll see we'll see what the chiefs do down the stretch because i am i am worried about them i'm cool i'm cool with this ranking right here but i am worried about them how stacked that division is yes so when i thought about the teams that i wanted from top five i was thinking okay a lot of these teams six and below they got some holes but i look at these teams in the top five and i really don't see too many holes and i'll start with the bangles you know the the previous year super bowl loser never really tends to do that well the following season but what the bengals did that other teams may not have done is the bengals re immediately retooled their weakest position group they signed three free agent offensive linemen three very good ones including alice kappa from the bucks which hurt the bucks and returned great oh actually really good but yeah the bengals you know that was their weakness last year that was their weakness last year and they totally um they totally fixed that issue so you know young team coming back maybe they over cheated a little bit but i still think this is the team to afc north to beat oh i definitely agree i think they they take the afc north um just that their secondary is phenomenal i just have definitely have questions about um they're up front to see how they do if they can do that consistently as well as they did last year but my pick for the afc north is definitely the bengals i agree yes my pick for the afc west in this tough division i have the chargers faulting up to number four big signings this year with jc jackson and cleveland signings their defense is going to be lights out so i'm hot i'm worried what my home's gonna do what andy reed can figure out how to maneuver that defense but it's all about the coaching and winning in tight games you know the charges of all the town in the world this year there is literally no excuse honestly if the chargers missed the playoffs somehow this year brandt's daily's gone i agree they can't keep him and hopefully they get some fans in the stadium because apparently at chargers games there's like no chargers fans that show up like can we get a bus from san diego and bus them up to la or something like they just they just signed cleo back the stadium better be packed first time it's a home game really they better start showing out like the rams who exactly our number three team the defending super bowl champs um a little weaker this year because uh you know they lost robert woods and odell beckham will be playing so her hurts her offense a little bit i mean it doesn't really hurt the whole time plus the loose bond miller which was a part of the super bowl team yeah but you know the core is still there yes they'll have jordan fuller coming back healthy um who really turned it up last year before his injury he'll have all their backs back and just run the ball if they want really it comes down to matthew stafford cooper cub aaron donald you got those three guys you have a chance for a super bowl especially in the not as good nfc and jaylen ramsey ready to rock forgot about him man yeah the rams are still stacked so would you be mad with a la la super bowl would it be mad oh i'd be absolutely astounded i would love to see that at an la la super bowl that'd be pretty cool but i i'd probably be a little salty there because it's the charters as long as it's not another like patriots first nfc east yeah and as long as tom brady's not in the super bowl i'm chilling i'm good with any super bowl no tom brady no cowboys none of that [ __ ] i'm sure we're all tired of it uh so going into top two speaking of brady i mean he the bucks wouldn't be up here without him there'd probably be more they could have been only down like 20 but then breeding comes back and immediately changes even with you know chris godwin's questionable health and they lost a couple um key players so even with the bucks losing a few key players if brady a lot of those key defensive players including video who i think is their most important guy devin white um mike evans i mean david um easy nfc south oh yeah easy nfc south uh no no reason they think they can't represent the nfc especially you know i gotta feel like if brady decided to come back he's gotta have a little hunger in him yeah he's not gonna like not not make the playoffs he's gonna come back so i i do agree that he'll take it by storm he will but um i have to put the bills at number one with the bond miller signing uh i know he's older but you know he still he still played an elite level last year and this team is hungry i mean the core is still together they're coaching's there quarterback's there defense is absolutely amazing they got the playmakers everything is clicking for the bills and they have all the motivation because they haven't gone into where they wanted to be yet they were so close versus the chiefs last year so close uh would you agree that the bills are the best team in authority now i i i hate agreeing but yeah i think they are they are the complete team um they're gonna have like everyone's coming back that was injured last year they have the they have again not the toughest division coming forward that they have to play against they could just easily win that by storm josh allen's an absolute beast he knows what he's doing now he's a full-season vet um i mean yeah i think they are i think the bills are the team the super bowl favorite team as of right now and i think will be a big factor is who gets to one steed into afc and the bills are good enough you know to hang up those elite teams but they have an easier schedule than those as north afc west teams where a win or two there you know playing playing the playing the jets and the patriots who i think they're much better than and i think i still think you're much better than the dolphins too like if they cruise in the afc east they'll get that one seed and everyone's got to come through buffalo yeah uh i think that'll give them a huge advantage no one yeah no one wants to play uh in 12 segments certified geeker and i'll start us off my geeker for this week with recent news that came up today i'd like to say my geeker is the nfl changing the overtime rules now i say it's a geeker because in my opinion i feel like the overtime rules don't need to be touched i think that the overtime rules like in the nfl they're perfect the way it is you can't make it college i feel like if you make it like college rules on the 25 and then nfl teams are just keep shooting back and forth and you're already tired by the end of the game best thing you can do is like you're just going to see teams running power at each other and overpower each other or it's like field goal trade field goal trade like a college football game like they're they're not professionals so like someone's going to mess up there could be two pros on the 25 yard line just exchanging field goals all the time and their kickers won't miss because they're professionals now what they were saying this week well today the owners were all talking and they were explaining that they would change the nfl overtime rule to in the playoffs that it would change to each team gets two possessions or each team gets a possession i mean so two whole possessions in overtime so like we go back to the bill's chiefs game so the chiefs just scored right there now we're in next year's playoffs so the bills are get another chance they get a possession to go down and score you get a possession now i don't know what the i didn't read too far into it what happens if it's like a field goal or something but i'm guessing you have to match the other person's points obviously makes sense but i think you should just keep it the way it is like you could like you could just get the ball you know to start the overtime and you score right away right and then they score and then you get the ball again and you score and people will still talk about how like oh if they got a last they would have won like the same thing with the bills and chiefs whoever got that ball in overtime is going to win so why don't we just settle in overtime you know i know everybody wants a chance and stuff but isn't that what we put the time limits for on the quarters right you get a certain amount of time to score those points you didn't score those points we're going to overtime we got to settle this we can't we can just be like oh you get a chance now oh you get a chance what is that this that i don't think that's good competition honestly what do you think i have my certified kicker but i'm gonna make it you yeah you know why why listen nfl fans do this all the time where it's just like they complain about the rules and then it gets changed and then they're not happy about it but my final note on this because you know i'm gonna be watching the games no matter what i'm gonna complain about something so as am i it doesn't bother me that much but i just find it funny like nfl fans every season will get up in arms about something that happened in playoffs for example remember the past interference call what did the nfl do the next season the challenging challenge pass interferences and that was a debacle one percent of them got caught so it was a whole waste time initiated back and they said [ __ ] you we're keeping this anyway but you know that's a whole nother story i agree with you but i same here same here but half okay just because he called me a geeker he's short that's the joke short kings baby where are we at you know how we do where are we at charlie no we got a new segment yes we do it's called
