we saw fewer flight delays across the u.s and that is true at hartsfield-jackson airport as well caitlin ross is there she's been tracking it for us so caitlin plane still running on time thankfully we finally have some good news for you savannah all of the planes here today right now have been on time all summer it really felt like it was a rush to check in you had to be at the airport earlier earlier to make sure that you made your flight on time well now that the planes are mostly running on time that's the good news the bad news the prices aren't coming down anytime soon ingredients from columbia travel expert tonya fitzpatrick says even the most seasoned passenger can have a bumpy ride flying this summer holy cow yesterday it's very interesting she says the airlines have had to cut their flight schedules because they can't get people to staff the planes which makes flying both more expensive and less enjoyable the demand is high and it's really difficult when you have such high demand to find cheap flights she says if people have travel coming up this fall prepare to be flexible and book fast when if they know they're going to travel and when the airlines actually open up their fares for holiday travel look as soon as possible and so as soon as possible actually means right now she says after labor day flights do drop a little bit and that's the sweet spot you want to book those flights before thanksgiving that's when the prices are going to shoot back up savannah and run all right caitlin thanks so much for that report
