teacher talking Sports what it does what it do How We Living what an awesome season it has been for the Kansas City Royals fresh off a 2023 season where they lost 106 Games been a while since they reached the postseason not since they won the World Series in 2015 but here we are uh they have a 75 and 60 record just in a just a game and a half behind the Cleveland Guardian unfortunately injury struck yesterday and it is a big one via ESPN Vinnie pass quintino out for regular season with broken thumb huge news he's been um terrible news he's been such a excellent run producer for Kansas City this season set the Miss 68 weeks after suffering a broken right thumb in a collision uh the teamc Friday injured while trying to catch a rush throw from lever LC Lucas EG who actually got hurt himself although further details about that hasn't um happened uh Royals said pasquantino will undergo further testing Friday so 6 to eight weeks the regular season ends in about a month meaning that that's about a little over four weeks so I mean maybe he could come back before the ALCS maybe at the ALCS uh but definitely a huge huge blow for their everyday first baseman and he's been playing phenomenal since uh the allstar break uh I do FanDuel pretty much daily and I've been taking them a lot but we see since the All-Star break in his 39 games 38 games 296 average eight homers 822 Ops um and again you look at his numbers in the clutch uh why he has so many RBI 97 it's because he's in well over 300 with Runners and scoring position uh Kansas City Star lists options replace pasquantino at first place uh first base Salvador Perez of course their normal catcher um you know he could come in they have Freddy fine as a backup also uh MJ Melendez hasn't caught this year but he caught in the past for the Royals and Nick pra who was at triple A oh we also see you know some people going through waivers we'll see if any of them get picked up uh maybe the Royals could look to add someone to play that first base role uh but probably their third best hitter on the season only behind MVP candidate Bobby wit Jr and Salvador Perez and probably since the All-Star break he's been their second best hter so tough break for the Kansas City Royals losing p s ino for the rest of the regular season do you think they could catch the Guardians before uh the end of the regular season game again just a game and a half out and uh they've been steadily catching up to them uh but this will definitely make it more challenging for them to do so anyhow don't forget to subscribe tell a friend tell friend tell friend to subscribe like the video share the video hit the bell for notifications I'm out
