but you got to have a passion you got to love it if you don't love it you're wasting your time I don't care what anyone says you got to love [Music] it I think there's only a few unicorns in this world Mick's a unique human being I think once you once you get to meet Mick is a is one of a kind oh mate that's the problem the brain goes go the body's going [Laughter] [Music] [Music] no from a very young age I absolutely loved cars and even though they weren't real they toys but uh always playing with them tinkering them pulling them apart put them together and basically had an absolute passion for it I remember my very first days in Apprentice I started my appren with a Hungarian guy who was ex Air Force mechanic he had an engine out of a v it was a V12 Maserati engine on the floor and he had me taking nuts and bolts off it cuz he was going to rebuild it and he did rebuild it that was just like w an eye open I've never seen one like that before and that was my very first [Applause] [Music] challenge did a lot of work for concreters and the concreters I was doing a lot of work for back then were uh guys that would be building fuel stations there was an art to it there really was yeah had to work with a 41 bucket and trim and uh it took some time but yeah got pretty good at it and um just fell in love with the whole concept of it all and then um was introduced to laser screws back then from that bought laser screws went out there did what I did with them my brother Jimmy jumped on board with me so we were out there doing doing our thing and then uh started my own full-time mechanical business you see that machine there with these two levers here this is what they call a manual steer machine right so everything you do you've got to do this see those moving it's very specialized because not too many people people can dabble with them owning the machines and being a mechanic has maybe given me a bit of an advantage being able to do that you just get better at it main things a mechanic has to have I believe is hearing good hearing sense of smell and eyesight and feel well that's full feel it yeah you got to feel it concrete is a hard game and you want to make sure that the gear you've got is right because the one thing with concrete you get one shot there's no Second Chances and concretors don't trust anyone let me tell you that it takes a lot to get them on board but once you got them on board in the sense of that relationship it's all about trust it really is [Music] it's great I love it and um doing what I do still enjoy it after so many years learn every day still learning every day Mi yeah extremely unique what he does there's not many old school guys that do what he does uh anymore and has that care and passion about what he does I think the level of care and pride in what he does is like probably unheard of My Philosophy is when I come to work I just want to do the best I can and I know that doesn't happen every day because it's very very challenging but 95% of the time it is and that 5% it isn't well then it doesn't leave till it's right name is Mick savis I work for mwell products I'm the mechanic SL technician SL operator SL trainer Allin one it's just an absolute pleasure being here every day love you yeah I hope I didn't that up I probably did but [Music] anyway again God you killing me [Music]
