Labor Day was created to celebrate the contributions of the American worker. But over the years, it has turned into the last hurrah of summer, Jessica Hart spoke with local leaders who want to get back to Labor Day's roots music fills the streets at the state fair, beautiful day here at the fair. But the tune isn't quite the same. This Labor Day. Labor Day is the fight for all workers in America and their rights for safety on the job, equal pay and benefits. Over the years, the meaning of Labor Day has switched keys for some Labor Day means the end of summer or the last day to get your favorite fair food. There's still those struggles to lift up the middle class and all Americans in between bites. These labor unions want to remind people of Labor Day's original. It's just the work we got to do to continue to keep educating and informing all Americans all workers of what Labor Day is and what it means and what that fight is, we know that life is better in the union and we're going to protect our ability to bargain collectively and better workers lives.
