UTSA WR Devin McCuin Postgame Interview 28-16 Win Over Kennesaw State 8.31.24

Devin what was the uh mood like with the players in the locker room after this one um you know I wouldn't say disappointed cuz we at the end of the day we won the game but uh we know we can do better we had a lot to work on um but yeah we'll be better next week what did you think of your uh personal performance today seemed like you and Owen had a bit of a connection yeah I think I I did pretty well um you know I just try not to get out of my frame and uh know just play my game just let the ball come to me and don't press and um you know block on the perimeter do the small things and everything will build up can you talk a little bit more about the player your quarterback today I think you had 340 yards passing three touch downs and I think he ran one in as well yeah he's a dude yeah I I love him as my quarterback um yeah he he's a great quarterback and uh he played really well today Deon how important along those lines was it for the offense to start out as strong as you did and get touchdowns on those first three drives yeah um honestly it started off with William McCoy with his first uh return and that just gave us some energy and you know we came out playing H fast physical and just playing our brand brand of football and uh it turned out well for the first couple drives I know you and Owen go back quite a ways how did that connection kind of come into play on the field today seemed like he look for you a lot yeah um I think it just that's just where the ball landed uh I don't think he's just looking dead at me just the whole time but U but yeah uh yeah we BR chemistry as the season goes on it'll be good as a whole the offense didn't move the ball quite as well after those first few drives was there anything that changed that started to give you guys some trouble or what did you see there um they changed a little bit of their coverages but at the end of the day it's it's all about us um just got to execute our our our plays and uh you know stay disciplined how do you kind of put this whole performance in the perspective today you think it was a good day for the team bad day a lot of stuff to work on kind of how do you size it up you know well we won the game so I guess it is a good day so uh but you know we got a lot of stuff to work on uh Sunday Monday we'll get it all cleaned up and then Tuesday we'll hit the field going have a tough practice so um yeah we'll be ready for uh week two else for doing all right thanks everyone thank thank you
